Hello everybody. I'm glad that my invitation was accepted, just in time for the Smash and AC directs. It took me a long time to get 100 posts on ERA, so i will try to get that amount here a lot sooner then i did there.
 
I saw AI: The Somnium Files was on sale for like $15. I've been waiting a while for a major price drop so I got it. I thought I'd spend maybe an hour trying it out but ending up playing for 3.5 hours. Fuck me, I know this game is going to ruin my sleep. I always lose track of time with these type of games.
 
Just sitting relaxing and running random join requests in MonHun and someone wiped three times on the final boss 😥 bad times. Kind of wish you could select to rerun the hunt with the same group, hope they get it lol

After complaining last night that I’ve never shot a hole in one, I got three this morning in New Donk City. Yes they were the amateur holes, shut up it counts!

Completely agree, I was at a message board before that had Angry, Sad and Laugh reactions, and the Angry reaction was often being misused in a toxic way. Limiting it to Yeah keeps things positive.
 
Is it worth it to change my eShop location to New Zealand so I can play Dread a day early? Seeing quite a lot of YouTubers doing that for new games.

You have to purchase it while your account is set to New Zealand. You can't buy it with the American region e-Shop then change to New Zealand to play it early.

I'm aware of that. Luckily my bank converts to foreign currency pretty easily.

I'm disappointed no console waring is aloud because I had a whole ST idea called Famiboard Wars where everyone just freely yells about their favorite electronic toys.

At least I can still make Famiboards Detective Club, a place for us to solve ongoing murder investigations that we are in no way qualified to do.

Reminds me of “The Wire” when the police officer makes Hampsterdam so that people can do drugs without fear of getting arrested to clean up the other parts of Baltimore. Might be nice to have one thread where all of the console warring can get contained.

I'm watching my boyfriend play BotW, and while he's put in over five times the amount of playtime I have, I was able to teach him something he'd never even thought to do: propelling the mine carts with a bomb. And the funny thing is, it never occurred to me to do it the way he'd been doing it (stasis). Such a fantastic game.

Anyway, five days until Metroid Dread! I'm hoping to get time off from work for it but we switched to an "adaptable PTO" system that doesn't seem to be working correctly yet. If I can at least get Saturday off I'll be good.

Since it's a hot topic: the Yeah! was a group effort, and I'm not sure if we can pin down the idea to any one person. There were a few community requests for it, but I'm not even sure if @Dopply saw those before he put it in. The icon was provided by @OTBWY. The '!' was provided by me because @Dopply forgot it, the bum. Hopefully we can figure out the thumbs up next to the Yeah! soon.

Also, glad y'all are liking the red!
 
The Metroid Dread icon is taunting me on the Switch menu. I don't think I've been this excited for a game since Three Houses. I played through Zero Mission, Samus Returns, Super, and Fusion in preparation.
 
My strategy game itch is getting bad, I think I'll finally get back to playing Wargroove.

I really like how on the thread list, it gives shortcuts to the latest several pages. Much more convenient.

Good morning my fine famiboard friends. Gotta question for you. What in your opinion is the better buy, the Castlevania Anniversary Collection or the Castlevania Advance Collection?

By the way, nice update to the dark theme. I like it.

Going through it slowly is also what I've been doing. The game generally feels rather slow paced, even cumbersome sometimes, which is why I can't play it for more than 60-90 minutes at a time.
It still feels weirdly cozy, which is probably why I've gone back to it twice now already. The line between this cozy feeling and a certain dullness is pretty slim with this one, though.
 
they didn't do much versions of their other controllers for their other NSO stuff so I doubt they would provide other colors but I hope I'm worng

It really depends. Anniversary has like 7 games - but lots of them are aged and extremely difficult “stage clear” type games.

Advance has three Metroidvanias, only one has kinda aged badly, and one remake of a stage clear type that no one likes.

It really depends on what style of game you’re looking for. If you want Metroidvanias go with the advance collection, If you want classic stage-clear type, go with Anniversary.

Pretty much. It's cozy in small doses but when you play it for longer the gameplay faults start to really stand out

I'm partly sticking with it since I'm in a holding pattern until Dread and don't feel like starting something else. We'll see if that remains the case after Dread
