I thought about buying Dread's digital version given that it's only 4.1GB in size, but the physical version is still cheaper here. And i want to keep the box and look at how beautiful and glorious it is.
Honestly, I decide to give Metroid Dread the support that it deserve. I bought the digital version to play it on launch day and will shift to the physical version when i will receive it. Double the cost, double the success! Our queen need our assistance ;)

How does that happen? Switch controllers always seem to have massive battery life. This isn't the Wii days.

I think the long battery life is the reason why it happens to me. I just assume that it always has a lot of power left so I never charge it.

Hey everyone! On Era (and Gaf before) I was mostly lurking, but I'll try to contribute more often.

I personally think it looks like absolute garbage, but people are seriously forgetting what PS1/2/3 games actually look like.
Don't get me wrong, graphically, I agree it is seriously lacking (even if it is a gigantic leap forward from every other Pokemon game yet in terms of the technical scope). But shitting up every discussion about the game with just that gets tiring, imo

Lol.

Jokes aside though, I am flabbergasted at how ambitious SMTV looks. Atlus went all in.
Dunno if it’s for me, but I’m eagerly awaiting the response after the release. I think Pokémon Legends will do fine.

SMT V though… LET ME IN

I wonder if "looks like a PS4 game" will ever be used derogatorily.
It struggles to even stay 120frames, and it's only 8K through AI upscaling instead of natively! When will Nintendo finally bring Kirby up to our modern 2035 standards?!

I do recall PC gamers saying that the PS4 and Xbox One were underpowered even at launch and that they were holding back gaming. I don't think people took kindly to that.

Personally I could deal with underwhelming graphics if the content in modern Pokemon games was up to par. It's hard to say how Arceus will turn out but it does seem more ambitious than their more recent efforts.

Unfortunately because I'm poisoned with Sinnoh stan disease I am going to get BDSP and will probably enjoy myself despite constantly comparing it to Platinum, the greatest Pokemon game of all time.

BDSP will be great because they are based on the best Pokemon generation, and because rather than trying to modernize it ala ORAS, they are hewing to it extremely faithfully.

Oh, you can leave the 'imo' out of it, because it's most certainly not just you 😜

I find it hilarious that, after all this time, when Metroid Prime Remake drops we'll have actually gotten "Retro's Game They've Totally Been Working on Before Metroid Prime 4 Guys We Swear!".

I've actually already started to see this in a couple places. Like some of the talk about how Ragnarok looks "just like GoW 2018", etc. Give it a year or two and we'll be there.

Well so far it seems they are extremely faithful to DP, which are games I still love, but missing out on the Platinum enhancements will definitely be a bummer. That said the Pokedex seems pretty big with the Underground expansion so at least we won't have only Chimchar and Ponyta for Fire type options.

I'm happy I don't have to build my team around an HM slave.
Believe it or not I am moderately disappointed at that lol.
That said, what I wanted more than anything was them not getting rid of the HMs, so ultimately I am okay with this compromise.

Yeah, not giving us Platinum content is definitely a bummer, because Platinum is the secret best Pokemon game, but even the core Sinnoh games were well designed - it was just other stuff that brought them down (such as game speed).

It's like Digimon just better.
Maaaaan I miss Digimon. I was the kid with bad taste who prefered it back in the early thousands. It had the cool high stakes cartoon instead of the dumb baby one.

I do not necessarily stand by those opinions

real talk, Final Fantasy XII got one of my favourite looks of all time, PS2 game or not
Absolutely. Art direction and detail go a long way. It's stunning how good the Zodiac Age version looks, it really shows just how much effort went into the original game

Wow, that new boards smell! I mostly lurked the last place since last year but looking forward to hanging out more actively here. Really thankful for the efforts made to get this site up and running.

First things first, can I just say how disappointing it was to see all the people who didn't know what Big Brain Academy was. One of my most played DS games and always preferred it over Brain Training! Biggest omission of the direct imho opinion

I'm wondering what will happen to the OST of Metroid Prime Remake. The music is usually one of my favorite things about remakes, see the recent Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters. The MP OST is fantastic as it is, so I'm not really sure if it needs it, as long as they use the uncompressed audio.

The new Digimon anime comes out this weekend! I even made the OT for it on ResetERA ;)

Don't worry, as a person in their 30s with great taste, I can safely say Digimon is good. Well, except for when it's bad.

Seeing all these new and old faces in one place…

Now this is what it's like when worlds collide.

I loved Digimon World 1 and 3 as a kid.

Especially Digimon World 1. Very fun.

Digimon World 3 is Pokémon lite. Except with 500% more backtracking

I haven't seen any Digimon since the series with the red dinosaur and the yellow fox; and I think a big internet goo monster thing was the villain. Have I missed much that's good since then?

I'm betting that's more of a "why do I have this PS5 if this is what games look like" kinda complaint. I'm more curious if people will be blasting Game Freak for making a game looking like a PS4 game in like 2030 or whatever.

PS4 has always looked very much "good enough" to me so I'm just having trouble picturing that meaning "bad".

Also I guess nobody liked my dad joke...

Digimon Savers and the first 2/3 of Xros Wars are great (with the last third having a completely new cast and storyline). Other than that uh... not much? lol

I've heard good things about Appmon but that's the only main Digimon anime production I haven't watched. I'm hoping Ghost Game can turn things around since the franchise has been in a rocky spot lately but everything we've seen so far looks promising.

If there's one thing I'm really impressed by is how quickly you guys created this slick forum. You guys are definitely efficient and talented.

I came to the horrifying realization that Metroid Dread not only is the first original 2D Metroid in 19 years, but also the first one on a home console in 27 years O__O...

For comparison sake... the gap between 2D entries on home consoles of other franchises:

- Super Mario World to New Super Mario Bros. Wii is 19 years;
- Kirby 64 to Return to Dream Land (if we discount Epic Yarn for being a non-traditional spinoff) is 11 years;
- DK Jungle Beat to Country Returns is mere 6 years;

That's true, and that's probably how it's going to start: "This game looks so PS4/last gen!" etc., but in like 2030? I can definitely see it happening.

And I liked it! I'm a dad joke fan, through and through.

I have fond memories of that generation. I do wait till I can get it second hand as I dont feel I should pay full for it.

I loved and hated Digimon World 1. The game was extremely buggy but the German PAL version was probably the most broken one because a bug prevented you to return Ogremon to the city lol.

SMTV is going to be my focus in November, though i'll probably pick one of the Pokémon remakes later on.

I'm going to try and power through SMT V, do a playthrough of BDSP, and then go back and do a more thorough playthrough of SMT V on a different route. November is gonna be busy

It'll take me four days to finish Pokemon.
SMTV will be my focus in November, but you bet your ass I am getting Pokemon day 1 and running through it

Also era lurker and discord moves too fast for me. Glad so many people joined so quickly.
Waiting for metroid dread to unlock

I'm curious if people will finally bring the meme back "Fucking Donkey Kong" again but with Metroid, this time since Retro are not gonna work on DK anymore lol.

I'm still trying to remember who made that meme back on Gaf.
I seem to remember finding it by Googling it and following a link on Era
