Nintendo : "stay tuned for around 40 minutes focusing on games coming by the end of 2022"

Average forum member : "Omg I'm disappointed they won't show any 2023 games"

Like clockwork
i honestly prefer that style over MS and Sony who seem to love announcing games that are four years away

ignore MP4 and BotW2, those dont count

Nintendo has a lot more games to announce especially when they publish a lot more 3rd party games than Xbox/Sony . Xbox and Sony just do what they can with their games, at least Sony has been doing it a lot better this generation with only two official announced titles being 2023+

Have you heard anything?

I was told the vague "mid June" for Direct
Pokémon Presents or any kind of franchise info should come before

Please note that all of this is rumor and cannot be taken as gospel leaked info.

True that, I'll start:

I do not care for nectarines
Awesome. I strongly dislike avocados.

Difference with MP4 and BOTW2 is... I don't think Nintendo loved doing that. 😅
the others woulda though, yeah

Metroid Prime 4 was announced because they were worried about the reception to only Metroid: Samus Returns being announced and not a proper new Metroid game. BOTW2 was announced pre-pandemic in 2019 and I think was probably scheduled for somewhere in 2021 before being moved to 2022 (and eventually 2023 of course)

Yeah, both were situations Nintendo didn't mean to happen. Which was what I meant, but I was being snarky. 😅
Towards Nintendo! Not you, good sir.

I still cannot belive Sony announced a State of Play before Nintendo annouce a Nintendo Direct...

Come one Nintendo announce that god damn Direct already... we all know you have one.

I just want a new Super Switch so I can finally decide to mod it with an aluminum sapphire painted shell for the same price as the Switch itself and not feel bad about it. Oh and games

Going through last E3 show, the only games that was schedule for 2022 were Mario + Rabbits and zelda
Last year Nintendo needed to announce almost all of their second half software; we're not quite in the same boat this time with Splatoon 3 dated for September and Bayonetta 3 also probably coming later in 2022. Pokemon of course was confirmed in 2021 and is already confirmed for 2022.

That doesn't necessarily guarantee more announcements for 2023, though; it just meant that last year there was more need for Nintendo to show stuff coming in the calendar year.
"Raccoon-san, would you like me to order you a new Mario Kart from EPD 9?"

I want Wave Race!
This is the correct desire.

Rogers base thinking Nintendo could show BotW 2 for 15 minutes in the direct 😂

Someone hasn’t paid attention to Nintendo, apparently. They’ve stopped doing long deep dives in games since the complaints of Smash at E3 2018.

Also they're just not going to do a deep dive in a Direct on a 2023 game; they've got the rest of 2022 to talk about and likely at least a couple of unannounced games of their own for that period.

Yep exactly. They got games that need deep dives coming this year like a Splatoon 3 for example and any other big game not announced.

I have a feeling we're not even going to get an announcement for at least 2.5 more weeks :(

Sony announced theirs a week ahead. To me that’s reasonable. Microsoft is the one who announced their presentation a month ahead. I like the announcement being a week ahead, especially if there’s a Treehouse

Samantha was good. There was a couple other guys who did treehouse who also left. There’s 2 guys who do the Xenoblade sections I like lol. Hopefully, they’re still around to do Xenoblade 3 Treehouse

That was my thought that even if we have a packed second half, there is no guarantee for 2023 dates. Specially since that has been their pattern

Samantha Robertson left Nintendo a few months ago and without her Treehouses won't be the same anymore. She made the streams so comfy with her commentary. :(
Omg :( I actually get nostalgic thinking about Sam, Audrey and Chico’s BotW 2016 streams

It was a magical day

More likely to get a pokemon announcement this week imo
That's what I'm thinking. Pokemon this week, Direct a couple weeks later seems most likely.

I'm fine with that honestly, we can enjoy all the other gaming news that comes out beforehand and just know that Nintendo will be coming along shortly after.

Nintendo doesn't need to turn this Direct into a BOTW2 "deep dive". If they really want to do a blowout of the game, they can just show a big story trailer+a significant Treehouse segment and/or a BOTW2 Direct. It seems much more reasonable, especially considering the amount of games still due to release this fiscal year and that probably will appear on the next Direct, both the already announced and those that are still rumored, like the Prime remaster and the next Fire Emblem project

Especially considering that there are likely to be two more general directs before BOTW2 comes out, doing a massive deep dive now seems way too soon. That and the fact that Nintendo has gone away from doing deep dives during directs just in general. The only reason they'd have to take up a lot of time in a direct with a deep dive these days is if they didn't have much else to show and they needed to fill space - and that doesn't seem likely with the sheer amount of stuff they've had in directs in recent times.

I doubt this will be a 2016 or 2018 style Direct. Nintendo will show FETH, LaL, Splatoon 3, XC3, Bayo 3 and they surely have more games coming. I always seen those years as transitional in a way.

Xbox announces a month ahead because they have to organize the Xbox fan fest group viewing stuff

It’ll be like 2019. Here’s Luigi’s Mansion 3!, Links Awakening!, Fire Emblem Three Houses, etc etc with some new game announcements

Except no Smash characters which you can replace with new game announcements
