Even played most of my Xbox 360 Gen with standard Def component cables cause no HDMI for years.
Same, omg. I had one of those rear projection TV's and I thought I was cool because it was BIG but even though it was 1080i the screen was so hazy that it was barely better than a tube. šŸ˜… And all analog hookups, no HDMI.

Amusingly, I upgraded to an LCD around the time I got my Wii and left my X360 behind. 480p never looked so good. šŸ˜‚

Hell froze over and official Windows twitter account is talking about Persona 5, a game is NOT on PC right now.

The last time a Persona title hit PC, it also was released on Switch (Persona Arena Ultimax), just saying.

I fully expect Persona 5 Royal on Xbox and PC at some point, maybe even on Game Pass. Switch is the question IMO.

I know a lot of people are out of faith when it comes to third party on Switch. but I have zero doubts P5R will receive a Switch port alongside of PC. I know Atlus can be jerk sometimes but this is literally guaranteed to make millions.

Not only I expect P5R on Switch but I also expect everything else, starting with P4G and all three Dancing games.

Good news everyone. I've been scheduled to do 3 days a week of field work all the way through July. Congrats on getting Nintendo Directs every single week for the next 2.5 months. I won't be able to watch them live with you all.

Persona 5 really needs to come to Switch in some form already so I can finally play it and then play Persona 5 Strikers thatā€™s been left untouched on my shelf for over a year now since I got it for the Smash spirit, lol.

It's not that people are out of faith in third parties on Switch and more like they're skeptical of a mainline Persona on Switch. I expect to see the rest of Atlus' Vanillaware games before any Persona.

For me personally it's less skepticism of Persona on Switch and more Microsoft paying Atlus to get the game on their platforms/Game Pass like they clearly just did with Danganronpa and The Nonary Games.

6 years since release but how many since the original announcement? šŸ˜‰

The farther we get into April, the less I think Aprilā€™s big Persona news will be a game. Probably an anime announcement instead.

I do still think weā€™ll one day get Persona 4 Golden on Switch. Iā€™m 50/50 on Persona 5 despite it being a PS3 game.

Eh, it's just people getting worked up about nothing. The whole "Sony gets mainline Persona, Nintendo gets mainline SMT" has no hard evidence, it's just some coincidental pattern that's about to be broken. I mean, Nintendo just got a its first port of an Atlus/Vanillaware game.

So far, we haven't got any solid rumor on Persona appearing on Xbox in any way. We have a word from our Nate, that he thinks P4G might appear on Switch this year (might not be based on anything though). And this tweet is from Windows account, not Xbox. Might be a hint, or it might not.

Also paying for P5R but not P4AU and 13 Sentinels would be a little unusual. If there's a deal, I expect it to be for the whole package, just like Yakuza.

My mom told me she watched the first episode of the Halo TV show. I asked if that meant she got Paramount+ and she said no, she pirated it. She then asked if I wanted to see it and I said no and then she asked if I was scared to watch bootlegs of shows. My mom is bullying me into pirating TV shows.

Could be a delay for getting them over to Xbox, maybe Switch for P4AU and 13 Sentinels but the deal for these games on Xbox wrapped up and the team has been busy with porting to other system.

No it wouldn't. Persona 5 is a huge game. And there have been a small handful of rumors/insider claims of Persona coming to Xbox, some referring to P5 and others to P4G and P3P.

Between you and me there will likely be an announcement daily. I was in the field on Tuesday and everything dropped on Twitter. Out next week too, so I assume it will be indie direct time finally.

I expect none of the big Atlus developed games to release on the Switch if there is no Nintendo money involved, the spin-offs that release on the Switch are not developed by them. They are just like BNS or RGG when it comes to Switch support.

Reminds me that I bought P5 Royal over a year ago and still have yet to play it. Persona 5 is a weird game for me. When I first started playing, I was completed addicted. I saw a lot of what hardcore Persona 5 fans saw in it. But it does start to drag on, particularly the dungeons. Funnily, I wish the game had less focus on dungeon crawling and more on the social elements. I hear Royal fixes this some. I did enjoy my time with the game but it's not a game I think regularly about, not like Xenoblade or Zelda, but when I do think about it, I think "That was a pretty good time".

whats so great about the great ace attorney anyway
It lets me shut people up with facts and logic, which is unfortunately a lot harder to do in real life

Same here. Feels like Nintendo would have to reel Atlus in with an MH:Rise kind of deal for them to put Persona on Switch. And I am curious about the status of some of their 3/DS-era franchises i.e. Etrian Odyssey and Devil Survivor.

Devil Survivor is probably dead for a while , Etrian Odyssey there has been a game on the works since 2017-2018 (itā€™s unknown when it started) but we have got nothing since the 2018 announcement outside of yep we are still working on it, so my hopes for it are quite low.

SRW30 dlc acquired, got everything but P-songs. Got lucky and the place I got the cards was having a slight sale on 5000 yen cards, then the gold coins from the main 2 packs was enough to make the difference for the bonus mission pack. Combined with a small discount I had saved up it I managed to get it for a bit offā€¦ still quite a bit more than the steam cost šŸ˜¦. But hey cost of playing on something I can actually beat it on. Probably wonā€™t start till next week when the final dlc is out tho XD

This is weird on multiple levels, mostly that apparently Windows doesn't know how dates work, since Persona 5 was released on April 4th, 2017 in the US, which isn't even remotely 'almost 6 years' by any stretch, it just had its 5th anniversary

Five years is close enough to six years and six years is basically 8 years and 8 years is practically a decade

happy 10 year anniversary persona 5!

One of the directors said we should be getting more info on it this year. The development started around 2018 since EO: Nexus was finished late 2017 and released, in Japan, in august 2018

Uhh, didn't Demon Turf just come out? How the hell is there already a second game lol. Also, why is nobody taking about it?
From what I can tell, it seems to be a much smaller scope thing than the first game. Also literally had no idea this existed until it showed up in the Switch news feed today.

Kojima Productions is almost a Sony first party studio since 2016, they even share their Decima Engine (that its name right?).

So, em, the adquisition was inevitable.

Looks like nothing besides maybe marketing by Sony.

Edit: or itā€™s they bought them but are staying independently managed? Really not sure, but donā€™t see their games releasing on another console anyway.

The release of Death Stranding was rather funny to me since it turned out to be a game not many expected and thus lead to a confusing and rather initial mixed response.

Then everyone accepted what game it really was and calmed down a bit. And seems to be very positive among those that played it.

But I did noticed the game didnā€™t really explode in sales like I think fans expected. Maybe the whiplash of what Kojima actually made. Tho not to say it didnā€™t do great. Probably did a couple million, 5-7? Never got an update on sales if I recall

So, since Nintendo doesn't wanna say, are we getting Kirby in May and Pokemon Snap in June, or vice versa?

Y'all I just wanna say that a fairy and two unicorns die every time some body says Switch won't handle BotW 2 or the footage we saw couldn't be done on current Switch.
We've been with this song and dance with Mario + Rabbdis already lol. I think tech enthusiasts and sensationalist gaming sites are forgetting BotW is actually a Wii U game. Of course its sequel would look marginally better with Switch in mind and more dev time. Just wanted to get it out of my chest because I see so much dooming and glooming and click baiting on Brazilian sites on my Google news feed that it makes me a bit sad.

Oh well, that's inevitable now. It's not like they'd comment on a PlayStation exclusive that everyone asks to be ported over if it wasn't happening.
I'm betting it's coming to PC/Xbox/Gamepass and Switch, Persona 5 Royal, late this year. Or maybe this summer?

Thank you so much for the kind and supportive words folks. I really appreciate it, and feel glad to be part of such a wholesome and positive online community. You're all awesome. :)
I haven't been that present on here lately, but just wanna say you're an amazing person and it's very good to talk with you! These days I've been playing Astral Chain and am always tempted to bump your thread on best graphics because that game is gorgeous!!

I love this place so much ā¤ļø

here I am sitting right in front of a monster PC connected to a 4K monitor and I'm playing Mario Golf for the Nintendo 64 being emulated on a tablet with attachable mini controllers

Okay I hear you, but on behalf of Zelda fans I have a very important question:

Which fairy?

Idk which would make you more emotive. Pixie's from MegaTen? Navi(šŸ˜šŸ’”)? Great Fairy? Tinker Bell?

For a moment I was gonna mention Saria but remembered Kokiri's would be more like... Elfs? Or idk. Anyway, each time somebody says Zelda BotW 2 will skip Switch or be its swansong, a magic creature that never harmed anyone and everybody loves dies.

So yeah, it's a serious issue.

An argument could be made regarding whether or not Navi ever harmed anyone, is all I'm saying šŸ‘€

Thank you so much, that means a lot to me. :) You're pretty awesome yourself.

Well then.....

Considering this is his next tweet :
ā€œIt sounds misleading, but Kojipro has been and will continue to be an independent production studio.ā€

Edit: Also expecting anything that isnā€™t a random Persona spin-off on Switch is just asking for disappointment. P5 will probably be on PC/Xbox before Switch, while Switch gets Persona Q5 Chibi Dancing which somehow ties back into P5.

Iirc they said in july 2021 that it sold 5 millions, so it's probably quite a bit more right now with the Director's Cut. I don't know if Sony made a huge profit on this one, but given the type of game it is, 5 mil seems pretty fine actually.

I would like if persona 4 got ported, but only if certain redesigns happened. I played a bit of it a few months ago. 8h in and i was still in a tutorial. I mean what Atlus

That's modern Persona in a nutshell lol, that ain't changing.

Expecting absolutely nothing from ATLUS' internal studios except for games Nintendo paid, and being pleasantly surprised if anything makes it to Switch, should be the best approach.

The Switch is 5 years old and they made 1 new game for the system, Shin Megami Tensei V, and Nintendo is involved with it anyway. Their newest company pillar is launching on everything except Switch.

TMS - WiiU port of a Nintendo funded game
P5S - Koei Tecmo game
C:FB - PS4/PSV late port
SMT3 - PS2 cheap remaster
SMTV - Nintendo paid for it
P4AU - Arcade port by ArcSys
13S - Vanillaware game late port
