Yuuuuuusssssssss

...I honestly hope that if there's ever an A Song of Ice and Fire adaptation (maybe done by Netflix or some other streaming service).

She'll be the one to do the music for it.

But that's if GRRM actually FINISHES THE SIXTH, SEVENTH, AND PRESUMABLY EIGHTH BOOK!

So, err, yeah, I'm reading Dunk & Egg soon and it's dredging up memories.

That, and I might play Elden Ring soon, but eh, it has nothing to do with A Song of Ice and Fire.

Another win for the Switch Killer

I kind of wish he included more detail because if he just tossed it into his bag then it's his fault plain and simple, but if it was in a case then I would be concerned if I were a Deck owner. Whenever I take my handhelds with me out of the house I always have them in cases before putting them in my bag.

Moonstone Island - open-world top-down game with card-based combat, crafting, and a nice GBA pixel art aesthetic

The Spirit And The Mouse - The highlight of the video, a 3d exploration-focused game where you control a mouse and have to find electric creatures to fix the city's electricity problems

Oh I’ve seen both of these before. The Spirit and the Mouse is looking much better now!

This Yoko Shimomura tracks have me thinking. Game music top 5?

Mine:

  • Nobuo Uemstsu (FF duh, but lots of great post square stuff).
  • Yatsunori Mitsuda (Chrono and Xeno series might be the best out there).
  • Yuzo Koshiro (personal favorite due to the FM synth)
  • Kondo/Wakai/Nagata/Minegishi (cheating bit too hard to isolate which are the best Nintendo composers)
  • Yoko Shimomura (look at the composition history. her career is absolutely insane)

I'm being ignored right now.

Frankly, I've been thinking about getting a handheld case myself.

Any suggestions?

That’s a good one. By the time he even gets around to book seven it may just be someone else.

okay gang I’ve gotta level with you

I don't know if I like this Hinge dating app. I think I figured out how it works. It puts your most compatible matches and preferences behind the pay wall while everyone you won't be compatible with are in the free pool. In my info I put down that I'm Asian and liberal of the liberal Asian women are require Roses (i.e. the thing you pay money for) to like but the app sure does like throwing suggesting conservative women on the free side!

And where's the option for put down Nintendo as a preference so the app can recommend all of the Sega fans?

You can say seventh and eighth book.

Because I seriously doubt there will just be seven books with the amount of content in the previous five.

I will cope and seethe while I wait.

  • Masashi Hamauzu (one of the greatest composers of all time, I can't describe how much I love his works)
  • The Nintendo team (as you said, it's really hard to isolate them because Nintendo's current team of composers is just amazing.)
  • Yoko Shimomura (I grew up with kingdom hearts... That explains a lot)
  • Motoi Sakuraba (say all you want about his recent works, he's the composer behind Golden Sun, Dark Souls, Baten Kaitos and many other iconic series)
  • Lena Raine ( Deltarune, Celeste, Chicory, her personal works, everything is brilliant )

Ah yes, race and political standing on dating apps is a whole thing.

I'm currently in an interracial relationship, and in the past I was in another where she kept the relationship a secret from her conservative parents for the entire 18 months we were together.

A lot of people also tend to make racist assumptions based on interracial pairings. With my first girlfriend, who was Chinese-Mauritian, I had multiple people assume she was just looking to marry into Australian citizenship and money, when she was a brilliant computer engineer who made more money than I did.

There's also a whole 'nother thing where women dating outside their race get attacked for "betraying their own kind" and their partners for "stealing our women" which is disgustingly racist and misogynistic.

If this were 7 months ago I'd have nothing but negative things to say about how exploitative, useless, and demoralizing dating apps are, but I can't be too mad as one did eventually lead me to my current partner with whom I found the best relationship I have ever had.

It took 7 years of sifting through multiple apps and failed dates to get there though. Still, I suppose all's well that ends well.

I wish you all the best in your search, and for lasting happiness. Don't let the often depressing journey there get you down. This time last year I was almost ready to give up and accept a life of perpetual singledom, but if I'd stopped then, I would have missed finding the woman I love. Hang in there. :)

Ugh, I hate it when people put stickers about their religion on their cars.
Here's a question from the Man on High:

...Should I get this game? Honestly, it was either Elden Ring or Yakuza 0, but honestly, I'm digging the voice-acting here even though it's the same sort-of English voice-acting I've heard in every "anime game" I've encountered.

I'm half-Asian, half-white myself. I'm open to dating any ethnicity although it's fair to say that I probably like more Asian women than others due to more similar interests. Hey if you go photos of ramen and dim sum, you already got bonus points with me!

The politics stuff is non-negotiable to me though. I just have to honest with myself. We could like all of the same things but someone has certain views about things regarding sex, gender, race, etc, then I won't be able to overlook those and brush them aside. Might as well save the time and filter those things through the apps (although on hinge you have to pay money to filter by politics).

I decided to check out Hinge because my friend was talking about it so I downloaded it while waiting for something at work. It definitely feels more manipulative to push you into paying than other apps I have used.

Are you looking for a very dialogue-heavy, story driven experience? Do you like sci-fi mysteries? If so, then I'd say yes. You spend the vast majority of the game just walking around and talking to NPCs. There are some strategy sections but they are the least engaging parts of the game in my opinion. The game is probably one of the better narratives I've experienced in gaming. It's a story that does leave you thinking about after each session.

Anyone who has any love for sci fi should pick up 13 Sentinels. Try to avoid any info on it and just play it.

I've tried to find some listings for my case, but I can't find any so it may not be produced anymore. It's a really simple case though, just enough to hold my Switch (w/ joycons attached) and a few games. The outside is somewhat hard, but it's not thick plastic and it's thin enough not to take too much space. When it comes to handheld cases I never go for anything bulky, usually I just get something that'll hold the system by itself and the charger and games are packed separately.

Yes, get it!

You know what?

I may just go for it...

Please stop praising 13 sentinels I can't afford to buy it
Well, I'm sorry, but it's a rule.

13 Sentinels is mentioned and it's just common etiquette to say stuff like:

"Did you even know about this game!?!?!?"

Or

"Damn, it's soooo underrated"

Or perhaps

"Yeah, people sure slept on that hidden gem, amirite?"

I finally watched Batman. Loved it. Really shows how basic Nolan was, he takes this interesting idea and executes it in some boring and superficial way

Love the film's visuals, loved the acting, the villain, the story, Alfred, disliked the soundtrack (a lot)

Michael Giacchino can you stop sucking, for a single film please? Whens the last time you composed something great? With Ratatouille 15 years ago?

I've hated Christopher Nolan since the beginning of the 2010s.

I hated him even before that.

The Batman is genuinely the best Batman movie (well, of the 21st century at least).

Despite the copaganda (but that pales in comparison to Christopher Nolan's Batman movies)

Ill admit i enjoy begins a lot. But its all downhill from there, to the point i didnt even like Heath Ledger's performance so much. I mean, he was super skilled but sometimes i found his joker somewhat annoying. TDKR is a new low tho.

Nolan makes decent blockbusters, that is the best compliment i can give him him as a director. But what brings him down is this cult he has of people who think they are 200+iq because they watched Interstellar lol.

To be fair: I mostly hate him due to his dumb war movie, but other than that, I... never really liked him.

On another note:

If there's ever an A Song of Ice and Fire adaptation, then I hope Giancarlo is the one to do the musical score.

He seems right for it. Idk. Maybe I'm wrong.

I saw the movie myself not too long ago so this is probably just the "hype" speaking.

But eh, who knows.

The rights are with HBO and I'm pretty sure that includes A Song of Ice and Fire... I guess?

I imagine that they made it so that there can't ever be an adaptation of the book series so... we are essentially stuck with either the original books or the TV show based off the books.

I wouldn't mind an animated adaptation though.

the saving grace of Dunkirk is the split timeline gimmick but Cloud Atlas did more interesting things with it several years before tbh

Actually, I do like multiple POVs.

Single character viewpoint?

'ight.

But multiple storylines in movies?

Underrated.

Heh. And I found Dunkirk to be an amazing film lol.

Probably his second best after Memento. Granted. I haven’t liked much of his 2010 to now films. And I’ve never seen Tenet nor have a desire too.

Is it just me or does Final Fantasy XV actually have great music?

Edit: Anyways, carry on.

Music isn’t the problem of the Final Fantasy franchise. Hell I even like FF XV, warts and all. The franchise isn’t very consistent for the past few years.

To be honest:

I do like Final Fantasy XIV (on the first arc so far).

And Final Fantasy XVI is, I think, made by certain people who worked on that game.

I’ve been reminded that I’ve been waiting for Winds of Winter for over a decade now. Gorram it.

Also everyone check out Moon Knight, it’s ace

I’ve played and Beaten Final Fantasy 1-7 (except 5).

1-2 on PS1 and GBA (Soul of Rebirth included)
3 on DS
IV on GBA and DS
VI ok SNES
VII on PS1 and on Vita

And yet, Ive never considered myself a huge fan of the series. Never had interest in trying the games after 7. Just don’t really cared about the final fantasy “world”, the games I played I enjoy the gameplay and the characters, but the themes and final fantasy staples of their games just never intrigued me. It’s rather weird and amusing, but it’s admitting strange to see myself complete so many entries and just never cared to try the ones after 7, and I really liked 7. I got the remaining games on switch since I played to finish 8-10 one day (and were on heavy sale).

I honestly gotten much more enjoyment on some of the spin offs. Final Fantasy Tactics advance is one of my all time favorite games. And that’s ironically the game that plays heavily into the world of fantasy lol.

As far as I'm concerned:

Jon Connington will or won't survive Aegon (I kinda hope he does).

Victarion Greyjoy does or does not die during the Battle of Meereen.

Euron Greyjoy is either revealed to be a magnificent bastard genius or just some crazy dude.

Jaime does or doesn't get captured by the Brotherhood Without Banners or whatever.

Theon gets executed (or doesn't, idk).

Aeron will or will not pull some magic shit on us.

Stannis Baratheon will or will not sink the Frey army under a sheet of ice.

Shireen will or won't be roasted on a stick to resurrect Jon Snow (with Stannis being either present or not present).

....

Those were just the ones I was thinking of today; I'm going to read Dunk & Egg soon, but was finishing up two books so... Yeah. That's what I was kinda thinking of.

Oh yeah, and we have, like, a bunch of fan theories that need to be debunked (Jojenpaste didn't happen though.)

(There was never a Jojenpaste theory.)

...Pretty sure I'm missing a bunch of plot-points. Never did do a re-read. What am I missing?

I dont think i could easily do a top composers cause 1: my memory fails so id be alwaya forgetting a great composer and second i cant just make a top 5.

But my favorites would be (in no order except for Powell who is my favorite)
John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon trilogy, Bourne films, Star Wars Solo, etc) -
Clint Mansell (Mass Effect 3, The Fountain, etc)
Murray Gold (Doctor Who)
The Maestro Ennio Morricone
David Wise (Donkey Kong Country)
Toby Fox (Undertale)
Harry Gregson Williams (Metal Gear, The Martisn, Shrek (with Powell)
James Newton Howard (Fantastic Beasts movies)
Grant Kirkhope (Banjo Kazooie, Goldeneye and Mario and Rabbids)
Danny Elfman (any Tim Burton film)
Mike Morasky (Portal 2)
Gary Schyman (Bioshock Trilogy)
Toru Minegishi (Twilight Princess and Splatoon)
Pino Donaggio (Carrie 1978)
Kenji Yamamoto (Metroid Prime Trilogy)
Vangelis (Blade Runner)
Jerry Goldsmith (Alien)

And a lot of others i forgot, probably
