For real, that's a stupid thing to think about but I've always wondered what will Nintendo do when Charles Martinet retire ? Use old recordings (if that's not already what they're doing) or replace him ?

I think they would probably coast on old voice clips for a while. Most of the games nowadays use old clips anyways, and they've likely had Charles record a bunch of random phrases and words to archive and keep using for a long time.

If that doesn't work then they'd probably just get a sound-alike VA.

I agree. For a while they will most likely reuse clips, but id imagine that they would get a new guy for the 3d mario games. Inb its Nate Bihldorff

I wonder how big the "Nintendo fans who only buy Nintendo games" group actually is. I don't know a single person who consciously and actively avoids games by other pubs and devs.

Anecdotal of course, but I worked with a guy once who was like that. If it wasn't one of a dozen or so Nintendo franchises he just didn't care at all.

Damn migraines, just leave me alone for once. Didn’t feel like being on much because one of a migraine that’s a lot more worse than the usual ones. Wanted to start persona 5 strikers but I really don’t feel like it

@chocolate_supra still probably a good thing I decided not to get Chrono Cross right away as I’m dealing with another wave headaches/migraines. Hell, I wouldn’t have been able to touch Lego Star Wars if I had gotten it as well.

lol yeah I just saw that over there. On the one hand, they’re up to three pages already, so it’s not totally dead. On the other hand, a lot of the posts are basically either straight trolling or they’re questioning the need for a Nintendo OT

Also it’s amazing that it’s like the whole situation never even happened. Like they aren’t allowed to talk about it or something. I expected at least one person would link to this place..

I hate that you piqued my curiosity enough to check out that site and all I have to say is that it is hilarious that the one guy who said that there was no way the Nintendo community is completely gone in the last General Nintendo thread after the exodus is now saying that bringing up how great the old community was will not help in fostering a new community.

Kind of where I'm at as well. For being a pretty commonly cited "Best Game Ever", it sure is pretty inaccessible. I've heard the Steam Version wasn't great initially, but the reviews seem pretty positive at a glance, so I might just jump on that eventually.

I’ve considered buying the iOS version. I hear it has controller support.
