Did you know id Software's first project was a PC port of Super Mario Bros. 3? And Nintendo turned them down on the PC port?

Nearly every decision Nintendo has ever made has shaped the video gaming industry in some way or another.

Why has this past weekend and even today felt so hectic.

Played some F-Zero X at long last though, so that's pretty neat I still kinda like GX more though right now 😬

So I just sprinted home about half a mile in my very light walking shoes pushing a jogging double stroller because my oldest said she needed to poop super duper badly and was totally about to have an accident and then when we got home she couldn't poop.
Opposite vibe from me yesterday. Driving across the state and asked the kids if they had to go so we could use the rest stop since it’s basically nothing for 30 miles. Get a ”nope” then my daughter starts melting down because she has to go. Found a gravel lot and that was what had to be used.

I know this is something random to complain about but I'd love developers to support more touch based controls on the Switch. I'm not saying that they should make touch based games but for example to choose between options it's a lot more comfortable to just touch the screen that have to go through options with the d-pad/stick, this especially seems dumb to me in the case of DQ/FF mobile ports that already had them in their original versions.

Yeah that's usually the case with us too.

At least I got some exercise.

so... this just happened in a Brazilian sports tv show today:

I believe there’s a Brazilian Soccer player that goes by the name Pikachu for that team that won in that clip. I don’t understand the language but I recall him being brought up once by the Mexican media during a match.

Edit
Here he is:

Man setting up RPG systems is hard as shit.

Why can't I tell the engine "RPG" and have it do what I want, shouldn't be hard.

I'm pretty sure you're Spanish cause Shin-Chan is only famous in Spain across Europe if I'm not mistaken. Anyway I think you're right.
Shin-Chan and Doraemon are also very popular in Portugal, actually Doraemon used to be on tv dubbed in Spanish with Portuguese subs
Damn, that was my childhood

Got my email to confirm my Steam Deck order today! Excited to be able to take my Steam library with me on the go now instead of just my Switch library!

Warner Bros. Brazil told me that the other audio choices should be available as "free DLC" on Nintendo eShop.
I reported that this option isn't currently available for download

Guess they didn't noted this 'til now
Thanks! Just checked out and the "language packs" are now available to download on the eShop. You can only find them on the console eShop, though, they don't appear on the web. The option to download them also appears ingame now. Don't know why they didn't offer that for the reviews, but hey, they're here now, so everyone can play the game with the audio that they want!

Went to finally check out the new MK tracks, only to find out it says I need to either buy the DLC or sign up for the Expansion Pass. But.. I am signed up for the Expansion Pass. Wtf help please

Go to the DLC page and download the entitlement. Should be good after that.

That’s confusing as hell. Why wouldn’t the game just have a pop up that says “download the Booster Pass?” Without having to exit the game and go to the eshop.

Anyway thank you, I appreciate the quick response

Nintendo thought it was good to lock 3DS DLC to in game stores and often after you got to an arbitrary point in the game. Or updates to eshop downloads. Not the best st making DLC easy.

"That Olivia girl is almost as good as Billie.
Almost."

So what are we thinking? June Nintendo Direct now that E3 is no more? Or a repeat of 2020?
Sorry if this was already discussed, I haven't been on in a while and just want some conversation

Hopefully a June direct, but it could come a little sooner or later. Nintendo has 2 games coming out in June, so maybe a direct early June.

I’m interested to see what else Nintendo has up their sleeves for this year. Now that BotW2 has been delayed, I’m only looking at Switch Sports and Pokémon S&V as must-buys.

I think we can all agree 2020 was an unpredictable year. We are back on schedule seen then so expect a early June Direct, the week of 6-10

Yall what exactly are pixels supposed to taste like? I don't wanna spend $15 to find out.

I wonder if doing two directs back to back would be smart for Nintendo, one early May focused on June-Septemeber releases (this could just be a Splatoon only direct but I think that would be a bad idea due to Strikers also having potential sales wise), and one later late June which would be your 'E3 Direct' with all the big announcements of H2 2022-early 2023 games.

No reason to change what worked in the first place. A direct in June with a gameplay/story trailer for Three Hopes and a reminder that Mario Strikers is out with DLC/update announcement then they can announce the rest. We might get a Direct this month to confirm Splatoon 3 release date and announce the global testfire. And there's the indie direct too.

I think a June Direct is still pretty much a lock, but maybe we'll get a Splatoon Direct until then

Since co-op in Yoshi's Crafted World with my girlfriend has gone so wonderfully, I've snagged a copy of Diablo III to play with her next. Also looking forward to the release of Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris on Switch later this year; has anyone here played it, and is it a good co-op experience? I enjoyed Guardian of Light on Xbox 360 back in the day.

I was never much of a multiplayer guy outside of Mario Kart or Monster Hunter before, but since the start of this relationship 5 months back I'm discovering a whole new side of gaming in the joys of couch co-op with a partner. Since we're both gamers and huge dorks, it's just so lovely to share in something we both love.

Our shared passion for gaming was one of the first things we bonded over when we initially met online, and playing together continues to bring us closer together. :)

so my memory is fritzed to shit and I forgot that relative to the Gregorian calendar, Ramadan slides back a fisherman’s dozen days each year

meaning I just now realized that one of my friends — who would totally actually do this kind of thing — wasn’t trying to prank me about Ramadan starting on April Fool’s Day this year

I feel it

I just keep reminding myself that the extra legwork for the basics means I can break it in much more interesting ways further in

Yup, it makes finding the problem later on way bigger of a pain. Hooray!
oop, good point

I meant more breaking conventions and piling s h i t p o s t ~.+.~ a b y s s chaos in like in my game but uh… that’s probably not helpful for most people

Anyone else do that thing where they suddenly become super formal in speech and overexplain when they're apologetic? And then overthink every word used when typing as if it were run through a thesaurus so you run it through an actual thesaurus to find words that are more commonly used, and you know you're overthinking it but don't want to apologize further to make it even more awkward than it already is?

In short I would like my brain to go to sleep about a full hour before the rest of my body, and/or take the time to shut up before saying anything and simply live under a vow of silence whilst praying people simply understand my vibes which I swear only mean good intentions.

At least I can say I should see that neurologist in a month

I'm focused on my backlog for now
