Had a good outing into town. Didn’t get much for me personally though I was tempted, I am trying to keep a little extra money on me right now.

Still no headache whatsoever. I’m listening to a podcast and will start triangle strategy here soon.

I even brought my switch into town in case I needed it and didn’t even touch it at all

I saw that Starscream at a store today while I was out. Didn't get it though but it was tempting

I saw some cool beast wars ones
Well I went to a store in my neighbourhood I had no idea existed and they are an official Hasbro partner… and Christ the amount of Transformers (next to Star Wars, He-Man, Gundam, Marvel, DC and others) was mindbogling.

Felt like a six year old again at the Toys R’ Us.

The third party Transformers though, yikes. I saw a smaller Soundwave figure… and it was € 80. Other stuff was over € 200 😱

I think Ive long reached the limit to which I’m impressed by graphics. Or rather not disappointed by them

Last few days been seeing how bad reception to Valkyrie Elysium and Diofield Graphics and I’m like “looks good”. And then Strangers of Paradise Graphically looks pretty good to me but looks mediocre to a lot of folks lol.
Same. I think this is a good thing though. Games have finally reached the point where art direction is a deliberate choice and we're finally past the point of "which game pushes the graphics hardware the hardest" being a deciding factor when it comes to reviews. That lo-fi 2D games are just as viable as glorified 3D tech demos for new engines and hardware is a huge improvement over the mid-to-late 90's in my book.

I wish I could find a store with a lot of that. That sounds like heaven to me

Well finished my weekend build
And now only one Infinitism remains in my backlog(Grendizer black version. I don't have Great or Kaiser yet). Surprising how much of Z they reused on this compared to Jeeg which was mostly original but Getter Dragon looks great

My Gun steel Gundam marker definitely helped fill in a few details

Now to eat some ice cream and watch a subbed show, then it’s time for some Digimon cyberslueth and a dubbed anime XD

I have a month long work trip coming up in a few weeks and as always I take my OLED with me. Bonus points for Kirby dropping soon so I can play that while I travel

I know I've been tooting the Xenohorn a bit already today but seriously, the fact that a WiiU game at 720p is one of, if not my absolute favorite-looking game ever, is a good indication that I'm past that point too. Like, where do we even go from here? Just more pixels? Aside from raytracing I don't see real-time rendering getting any closer to photoreal, so let's go for broke on art now.

Remind me to show off some of my collection of stuff I have one day. Including my most prized autographs of Peter Cullen and Frank Welker

I also started triangle strategy. Liking it so far.

Absolutely, it's all about the art direction, it's just getting more and more apparent now that graphics have gotten so good. Xenoblade X is a great example. Hell Xenoblade 1 (the original) has such great art direction that it managed to be so striking despite being sub-HD and looking pretty terrible in a lot of ways.

Yesss. Xenoblade 1 is actually the game that broke me of my "must have gud grafficks" phase in my 20s. The environment design and draw distance just blew my mind, and I kept having to remind myself that it was on the Wii.

It wouldn't surprise me if Mihoyo was one of the development teams with a Drake devkit that Bloomberg knew about.

As I've continuously said, I believe that Mihoyo will just keep saying that the Switch version of Genshin is still in development until it's slowly forgotten about. Never officially cancelled but just eternally in development. And honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if no earnest attempt was actually made. Genshin runs like dogshit on PS4 and people waiting for the Switch version shouldn't expect the devs to put in the effort to make a quality Switch port.

Monkey Paw. You can play Wind Waker this year, but Botw 2 has to be delayed
Pretty much. We can presume the WiiU remasters are sitting in a case behind glass labelled "Break here in case of gap in the release schedule."

The fact that they didn't appear at the February direct I take as a positive for the outlook on BOTW2.

Yep. Nintendo never announces Wii U ports at E3. Unless they announce some other brand new Zelda game, BotW 2 is the Zelda game for the year

So since we got a Xenoblade 1 remaster to fill the gap between 2 and 3, that means... X remaster filling the gap between 3 and 4?
not that X needs a remaster if I'm being honest, just a revamped UI and reduced pop-in which should come easily with Switch's superior RAM.

Anyone remember the name of the game (JRPG?) announced for Switch with a trailer showing a ... flying whale, was it?

@Oregano
Any chance you know what I'm looking for?
Flying whale? Hmm… I’m assuming you don’t mean the Xenoblade 2 reveal trailer even though that fits 😄. I can’t think of any other JRPG with a flying whale besides DQ11S. Was it something announced recently and isn’t out yet?

What's a Xenoblade 2? 😂
Nope, don't mean that one. It was a third party game, and not published by one of the big JP 3rds.
Has been announced in ... 2018? Iirc.

So like, what even happened to Genshin Impact on Switch...

Peaceable Sunday to you all. Gonna watch The Batman and go out for something to eat.

And then it's back to either F Zero X or Triangle Strategy.

Ah yes, the "Another Eden" approach.
@Imitatio maybe you’re thinking of “Another Eden: The cat beyond time & space”? That was announced for Switch years back and never showed up but it’s on PC now after 3 years in mobile land. Otherwise, I agree that Xeno 2 is what you’re thinking of.

Mostly quoting @chocolate_supra because the timing of the question is funny

Hm, it's neither Another Eden nor the Xeno 2 trailer. I've looked into it, but still can't seem to figure it out.

Oregano save meee
I remember you pointed me in the right direction once already back on Era, but I can't seem to find the posts ;(
