Right?NGL that's frickin cool
I'm confident enough to believe my opinion in games without reviews, but there's no denying that critic reviews for games/movies/etc are more important now than they've ever been when it comes to influencing sales success and social media chatter. Dread being tied for the highest-rated new game of 2021 is a huge W for the brandAm I the only one who doesn't care about MC, as long as you enjoy it who cares what score it got.
My Canadian friends are sending me pictures of all the cooking and the baking and I'm down south here crying into my Original Chicken Sandwich from Burger King.Canadians be like “long weekend baby”
I agree, but also, we have seen leaked emails and such from devs saying they get bonuses depending on the MC score of their game.Am I the only one who doesn't care about MC, as long as you enjoy it who cares what score it got.

switch reviews going out

It's a masterpiece -- truly a one-of-a-kind experience. If you can get it on a device other than the Switch, I'd encourage you to buy it elsewhere, but if Switch is your only option, it's still 100% worth playing. Probably the best-written game I've ever played, and I never even beat it due to work picking up steamI might have to add this to the list of "things to buy". Never played it before.
I'm not even considering SMTV at launch. Way too many JRPG games in the backlog for me to justify a day 1 purchase.
Anything I/we could help with?God this part I’m at in dread is so frustrating. Not even this guide I’m following is really helpful
Why would you recommend not Switch? Performance issues? It's a masterpiece -- truly a one-of-a-kind experience. i don't think he was the producer on thatDidn't this man gave us motherf*king WarioWare as well?
I don’t know how to use spoiler tags here but I am at an area and trying to reach a boss according to the guide and it feels like I’m playing somewhere different than what I’ve seen on the guide and on a video. I’m just confused and lost here, and dying to the same EMMI over and over again isn’t helpingAnything I/we could help with?
Correct, weirdly enough.i don't think he was the producer on that
If we can post puppies here is mine!
Ah yeah that was sick wasn't it?Oh dang.. So this game is gonna just up and turn into Fusion just like that, huh? Okay, cool.
Reading the reviews, performance seems to be functional and certainly playable but just not close to being at the level of the other consoles. It doesn't sound like straight-up poor performance -- just technical hiccups and some chug/super low res at times. Why would you recommend not Switch? Performance issues?
No more my fail on the phone it doesn't let me add the picture :x
I'm guessing the joke is you don't have one?
Hmm… that’s not a lot to go on, sorry! Roughly how far are you? Or you could try asking in the Metroid Thread, folks are helpful and less worried about spoilers in thereI don’t know how to use spoiler tags here but I am at an area and trying to reach a boss according to the guide and it feels like I’m playing somewhere different than what I’ve seen on the guide and on a video. reminds of when i kept finding a new area in BOTWI just keep finding new areas in Dread, I thought I was close to the end like 5 hours ago. All of those shinespark puzzles are slowing me down.
Could try that, thanksHmm… that’s not a lot to go on, sorry! Roughly how far are you? Or you could try asking in the Metroid Thread, folks are helpful and less worried about spoilers in there
*bonk*I told y’all that Metroid Dread’s incredibly ugly graphics will only allow it to achieve a Meta Critic score of Three Houses range.
Should’ve been on Switch Ultra and would’ve gotten a 100 MC
I agree Conker is a hardsell because even if it were re-rated, the language would firmly keep it in M-rated territory. But for instance say Perfect Dark were re-rated, doesn't it seem likely it could move down to a T if based on how society's tolerance for games has improved in 20 odd years? I never beat the game myself, but coming from the devs who brought us GoldenEye and also had copious amounts of murder sprees, I never did see much difference between game content (unless there's some hidden sex scene I've completely missed/forgotten about). On the matter of N64 Rare games on NSO, I think it's wise to not expect Perfect Dark (nor Conker lol) mostly because of the rating.. The NSO app has a rating of itself, and if you check on the NES and SNES apps, they go just to T for Teen max, and I don't think Nintendo wants a package that includes Mario, Kirby and Pokémon games to be rated M.
Otherwise, everything that goes to T-Rating on N64 should be a non-issue

Neat. Though the description still refers to Nook's Cranny. We changed the name and icon for the Community Board.
A cute homage/tribute referencing Nintendo's R&D division in Kyoto.
Great work on the icon, @OTBWY .
Worth the wait.
OK now it works. That's my 4 months old puppy that stops me from playing more metroid Dread.
Perfect Dark on X360 and XB1 BC still kept its M rating, years after the original release and without any real changes in content. Perfect Dark had way more blood effects than Goldeneye (including blood spurts when someone is shot), and there's a quite a bit of swearing and other language (e.g. "you bitch!" and "I'm dying!") among the goons you mow down. It will absolutely keep an M rating if it was rereleased on NSO.I agree Conker is a hardsell because even if it were re-rated, the language would firmly keep it in M-rated territory. And even outside of all this, if the parental guide is activated, Nintendo could probably do something to prevent minors from accessing the Adults Only game list for games rated M (or make them separate downloads so that they couldn't even be streamed accidentally). The problem from what I understand is that there's really no precedent for M rated games on the NES or SNES service. Mobygames lists the only three SNES games that received M ratings: Doom, Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat 3 Ultimate. Doom is already released separately on Switch, and Mortal Kombat I feel would be better suited to the Sega Genesis console anyways where it's uncensored and more importantly has a wireless controller that has the six button layoutin Japan. I know it's still a longshot for M-rated N64 games to appear on the service (if only because in checking the ESRB list, it seems Doom 64, Quake and Turok have been successful as individual releases), but I wouldn't rule it out completely (licensed games though, haha gl;hf seeing GoldenEye as either original or the unearthed remaster with Xbox crossplay).
Boo, surefire way to guarantee I won't be double dipping. Shame especially with no crossplay; I could probably get some friends hooked on it too but if I can't play with them online then it's just whatever.

Nowdays I think both crosssave and crossplay are almost mandatory for every game.
its a shame not everyone does it
Hiroshi Matsuyama, CEO of CyberConnect2, published a letter thanking Nintendo's handling of developer relationship. Selected quotes below, translated by DeepL:
I would still double dip but the timing is just bad all around , january is gonna be elden ring and legends for me , and when sunbreak releases i am playing on switch. By the time maybe i am willing to bite on mhr+sunbreak on pc I expect mh6 to be announced and coming in 2023 or so, and that’s the one I’m more likely to get for pc (since i’m certainly not likely to find folks to play it on xbox lol ) .It's a shame Rise won't support cross saves. I will probably skip the PC version, then, at least for the time being (i.e. after playing Sunbreak on Switch, probably).
