Great news! Funimation was never available here, but Crunchyroll is! Hopefully there are lots of series being brought over.

The leaker last year said Nintendo is using a chip called T239, code-named Dane. In the big cyberattack leak that just happened there are numerous references to T239 along with "NVN2", NVN being the name of the Switch's API (I'm guessing it stands for Nvidia Nintendo).

Essentially this confirms that leaker's info is true, so yes this is associated with Nintendo.

Welcome to demon school Iruma-Chan! Is fun and hilarious with a solid English dub. Unlucky kid gets sold to a demon to be his grandchild, fun shonen hijinks ensue. Ascendance of a bookworm is about an apprentice librarian who gets reincarnated in a fuedal society and wants to make books more available. Miss Kuroitsu from monster development is a fun tribute to Toku from the perspective of one of the bad guys. Life with an ordinary guy who reincarnated into a total fantasy knockout, is a fun one from the current season that’s a hilarious parody/ play on Isekai tropes.

That’s just a couple off the top of my head. 2 are currently airing. Oh a fun one from the current season that’s fun is dress up darling, but it’s a bit pervy and fan service heavy but that’s partially cause it’s about a cosplayer that winds up pairing with a guy who’s a doll maker and has him make her costumes. But it’s oddly earnest and fun tho.

Finally, I was wondering what they would do to consolidate, I think the Crunchyroll brand is stronger (at least in the States) so this makes sense.

I made a google doc for my friends, let me pull up some non-war excerpts.

Thriller:
  • Death Note - Crime-drama mind games with a literal grim reaper
  • Death Parade - Those sent to Purgatory play games to determine who goes to Heaven or Hell

Action:
  • Fate/Zero - Historical Figures are summoned to fight in the Hunger Games for the Holy Grail.
  • Samurai Champloo - Hip-hop vibes and samurai. Creator of Bebop. (Great dub)

Fantasy:
  • Mushishi - Very chill traveling witch doctor who works with spirits.
  • Baccano! - Gangsters in 30’s America with a dash of the supernatural. Tarantino’d. (Great Dub)

Sci-Fi:
  • Erased - Time travel to your childhood to solve a murder from the past.
  • Steins;Gate - Time travel experiment thriller (Supposedly good dub)

Romantic Comedy:
  • Kaguya-Sama: Love is War - Top two students try to get the other to confess their love
  • Toradora! - Two kids team up to help each other with their respective crushes
  • Recovery of an MMO Junkie - Woman in her 30s quits her job and dives into an MMO

Sports:

Not sure if all of these are on Crunchyroll or Funimation anymore, but they were when I made this list.

Can't really share resources, except if you speak french, but my advice would be to watch some videos on YouTube about the subject, there's some really really good stuff out there. But most importantly, my advice would be not to worry, in every job you learn stuff that you have to do on the spot. There's no shame if you have a doubt about something to check it out on Google or to ask someone. If you were honest in the interview, I'm certain they hired you because you're nice and passionate, not because they expected you to know everything from scratch.

So I totally forgot that I had pre-ordered Life is Strange True Colors from Target during Black Friday last year for $35. It just shipped so it looks like I'm getting a new game Friday lol.

Glad to see a lot of familiar faces around. I'm sorry I kinda fell off of the Earth, last year was a rough year for me and my family and I had to travel back to my country and solve many things... However, I am back. And what a start of the year it has been. Can anyone update me on the rumors, speculation and other related things we have floating around? Already read some about the Nvidia leak

the final insult to injury is that you can’t use the fun backgrounds with Miis (or mix and match from franchises to fuel the abyss)

I was a little disappointed you couldn't mix/match components but at the same time I assume it's because this way they can tell third parties (who might be overly precious about their characters) there is zero chance their characters will appear in a setting outside of their locked-down "brand guidelines"

that is, IF they ever decide to put third party characters on there

I can’t believe the Mario movie is coming this year and we haven’t seen a peep yet.

Also, jesus that pilotwings thread got me looking at Labo kits and VR's price has skyrocketed. I have a copy of that in storage I need to unearth lol.

What a bummer to see they've all but stopped production on it - only a pair of VR expansion packs are available on the nintendo site right now. Snap deserved camera support lol.

Remind me what the connection between Labo and Game Builder Garage is? Was it based on a Labo side feature or something like that?

Do we think BOTW2 is getting a 2023 release now that we know Xenoblade and Pokemon are coming out later this year? Or will Nintendo give us a super packed 2022? What about casual games? Will we also see the return of games like Style Savvy in 2022 considering Switch sports and Mario Strikers are back? Are we expecting more revivals/remakes ala Advance Wars?

With how costly Labo was to keep stocked and knowing they were pulling the plug on it, that was a really cool effort by them to keep the brand/universe alive in the digital space somehow. I didn't think about it that way at the time since Labo were still readily available.
