My OLED Switch really has me looking at original switches like they're a steam deck original DS

EDIT: just realized half of the time my posts in this thread thread are just me role playing as a twitter users with followers

Phat DS? The moment I bought DS Lite, I locked that abomination away in a closet, never to take it out again. DS Lite was soooo good. Nothing can replace mushy buttons.

Ha yeah

like original Switch compared to OLED once you've adjusted feels just as off-putting as Phat to Lite somehow, even tho it's a less dramatic change

ngl i love the phat DS just bc it feels like a mod of a GBA lol, next to the lite it's so clearly "we gotta get this out the door"

Well, it appears a hybrid of PS3 era graphics. Most is honestly on par, with some more similar to ps4, and a few worse than ps3.
I can't tell on frame rate. But if it is 60 or 30 fps, it seems mostly locked on my version.

I haven't played The Show in years, not a fan of the control changes. I suspect we can revert them in the settings (if you wish).

Technically, It seems like it could be on par with PGA 2k, Fifa, and maybe slightly behind NBA 2k. Which was an excellent port this year for Switch.

Makes sense, but I guess they really can't do much else with the transition to N64 games (unless they want to sell an N64 mini compatible with the wireless controller and sell those controllers separate on their online store)

As an aside I really hope they sell more colours of the N64 controller once they can maintain stock (or better yet if those joy con shell people can do something with the N64 shells so I wouldn't have to wait)

I hope MLB: The Show gets a demo on Switch. No way I'll be buying the game but I have a weird thing for seeing incredibly bad-looking ports in person.
 
I grabbed Metroid Prime Trilogy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Paper Mario, and Rhythm Heaven Fever on the Wii U eshop. I think that’s all I really want as far as Wii games go. There’s stuff like Wario Land Shake It and Kirby Return to Dreamland, but I don’t know that I really need those, and $20 each adds up quick.

Now all that’s really left for me on Wii U is a few N64 games that I’m not sure will make it to NSO (Donkey Kong 64, Excitebike 64, and 1080 Snowboarding), and then I’ll think about getting Paper Mario Color Splash digitally.

I find it sad that the Nintendo community doesn't give 3rd party ports more of a chance.

I see you all complain about the quality of the ports, yet even with great ports like Overwatch, you guys don't support it. You can not port beg and not buy the titles that are ported.

If you realize it or not, Switch can not run most ports as well as ps4/xbox.

No company not even Nintendo can survive without basic 3rd party support. You know what you get if 3rd parties abandon you...Wii U. If that happens again, Nintendo would likely be forced to sell in today's landscape.

Consider giving two compliments for every criticism and share it directly with the developers. I have the ability to do that. You all can use your voice in Famiboards and thru Nate and other podcasters to get your message across.

Because, at least for me, and in the case of Overwatch and now even The Show, it's something I was interested in getting a year or two before they actually got ported to the Switch, but now other things have come out and taken my interest or time.

For instance, I would probably have hundreds of hours in Overwatch for the Switch... if it came out in 2017 or 2018. 2019 was far too late, and I got Modern Warfare instead. If Overwatch 2 launches day and date with the other consoles, I'd probably get it.

As for The Show, I can put aside a game looking rough or playing rough, I mean, hell, it is just a tech test at the moment, but again, it's a case of, if The Show 21 came to the Switch, that would be my big baseball game. Instead, Super Mega Baseball 3 got some pretty sizable updates since it launched in 2020, and now that's not only my most played Switch game, it's getting pretty damn close to being one of my most played games ever, so why should I put up with a rough version of The Show when I could instead continue sinking hours into the excellent Super Mega Baseball 3?
 
Public service announcement for Picross fans.

Nonagrams Prophecy is NOT a game to get. There is a serious bug in the way the numbers are highlighted. The numbers that fade aren't necessarily related to what you've put on the board. This is confusing as hell in normal picross but outright unusable in colour picross because now colours you need to know are greyed out.

Not worth the 89p's worth of gold points I paid for it.

Maybe wisdom comes in the weekends because they're the only time in this capitalist hellhole where the average worker is allowed any semblance of freedom from the daily grind.

Maybe wisdom only comes in the weekends because they're the only time where the average Fami can truly unwind with some Anime to heighten their minds and brighten their spirits and ask the questions that really matter in life, such as why the fuck they did not call the series Zenoblade when its combat system is so chill that you achieve said state by playing it.
