PSA: Do not boot up MLB the Show for Switch. Game is running at 15 FPS during outfield play. I threw a pitch and it was a foul ball, and the game was chugging hard man. I hope this is no where near the final polish for the Switch version cause I was looking forward to cross saves with my Xbox gamepass version.
Doesn't it launch in April? Is there a demo?

Launches in April, but there is a tech test to try out co-op, cross saves and what not for the time being. That is why I am cautiously optimistic that there is still more time to polish the bad boy up.

Wait, is this for the Switch as well!?

Ugh. At this point, I feel like everything is coming to the Switch, but this game wouldn't be there. Probably, anyways...

Ah, gotcha.

I wouldn't have that much faith this close to launch. Unless it gets delayed.

Yeah unfortunately. The best comparison I can make is Apex Legends when it first launched on Switch, but that looked decent in the trailers. This looked bad in the trailers and is 2 months from launch. Sad, sad times man.

Man, it's kinda depressing seeing Superman one last time before he's Flashpoint'd out of the DCEU. And we don't even get to see his face.

Also someone for the love of god put James Gunn in charge of the DCEU. He clearly has a better handle on it then whoever else is doing it.

Looks like Super Mega Baseball 3 continues it's dominance in switch baseball.

But on a serious note, if you have another way to play the show then do it

I have to say, I am getting more curious and interested in the steam deck. I love the switch as a handheld console so having another big handheld is something that has my attention, since it’s basically a portable pc. If it can play some games I like that aren’t on switch or have no way of coming to it well, then I may consider getting one

This is basically the only reason I'm getting a Steam Deck. The Switch has spoiled me and I can't really do non-portable gaming much anymore, so a Steam Deck will let me play things that don't come over to the Switch

Same. A handheld on which I can play all of the Might and Magic games and spinoffs?? That's the dream right there.

Does anyone else often just scroll to the far right, look at their Switch Library in glory on their TV, and think about how we truly are living in another golden age for Nintendo? These next 4-5 years are going to be wonderful– the boxes have been checked (and then some) and now it's time for sequels, deep niche cuts and new IP.
love incubating thread ideas here in general :)

Luckily this spoiler isn't significant to me but

why does my brain always want to click the red shiny button before reading what the spoiler is for

why

There are definitely some games I doubt will make their way to switch but the deck has definitely gotten my interest as an alternative

My girlfriend borrowed my Switch to play BotW with the DLC (is there a way to "share" DLC?) and unrelated to that I was playing Splatoon 1 on my Wii U. She asked me if I was playing on the Wii U because she was using my Switch and the look of pity she gave me was the most unintentionally savage thing I've ever experienced in my life.

Not bad for a device cheaper than the 3DS!

assassin's creed is a good franchise
Especially the Ezio games. I'd go as far as to say it's one of gaming's greatest trilogies. I'd have bought the hell out of this if it came to Switch 2-3 years ago like it should have. Now though, especially with the ports not looking hot, I'd just stick with the PS4 ports I got last year for around £15

@Raccoon help

I once compared Ghost of Tsushima to Assassin's Creed (because it is very much like an Assassins' Creed game) as a compliment to the game and some people on a certain forum got upset with me.

Gunn needs to revive more obscure heroes. Peacemaker literally got one run under DC banner and it was in the 80s.

There are lots of stuff deep in the DC vaults that his style would fit perfectly. He can take on another Charlton hero, like Thunderbolt or Nightshade (though I expect both to appear in Peacemaker season 2). He can turn Archie's Mighty Crusaders into campy JLA rival. He can even do a Justice League International movie, complete with Gardner, Beetle, Gold, Miracle, Fire & Ice if WB lets him.

Is MLB The Show tech test under any no footage rule? Because I'd love to capture some undocked footage of this pixelated mess.
Nate, MLB and Sony want you to show the footage. A little different stance than Nintendo. It is honestly pretty good so far. I saw one video on Youtube, but I think it is his camera or internet, the other vids I saw did not have the same problem. I am pleasantly surprised so far. But we will have to wait for the full game to see.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

"Nintendo knows it has to support a product for a minimum of 10 years or they risk some class action," a former Nintendo of America employee told us. The source, who wishes to remain anonymous, says that Nintendo has been eyeing this shutdown for a long time now, and that 10-year cut off comes in November 2022, a decade on from the Wii U's launch. "Internally, NCL [Nintendo Co. Ltd, the main Japanese company of which NOA is a subsidiary] has been waiting for that day since 2014 based on sales... Nintendo looks at the first 2 years as the indicator of when to start packing it in with a console."

As I prepped for undocked capture, the USB connector broke on the Switch hardware. The universe is preventing me from showing it.
