It’s always funny in edf 2025 on normal, when you roll out to a normal difficulty anti-drop ship mission with a high level sniper rifle and take out all the transports before they can deploy XD

It's a bit messy. Sega as it is now was technically founded in 1960, but it was created from the bones of another few companies that had existed since the 40s which were shut down and then recreated in 1960 for various legal reasons.

One of the pre-60s companies in question was Service Games, which is where the name Sega came from, and Service Games was branding some of their machines as "Sega" as far back as the 50s.

Yes, thats's what I remember too. I recommend this book I read for everyone interested in Sega:

Five is my best since I rediscovered it today.
highest streak is fourteen but I know I can do better than that. gotta stretch out my time muscles and get back into the habit of being an insufferable know-it-all…

…not that I stopped…

this one is very, very loose and more vibes-based than anything but this track always makes me think of sonic mania

(cc: @chocolate_supra)

damn, I would not call that loose. they knew what they were doing, lmao

welp, I reinstalled Elden Ring

One thing I love/hate about these games is that I got good enough to beat it at launch, but coming back to it two years later I am now getting my ass kicked by some random bird

I think today I was finally able to convince myself that I can enjoy games that I don't finish.
Absolutely, I've been trying to get better at this. There are too many games, movies, TV shows, books, etc. in the world. You have to be comfortable with moving on to something new.

I was thinking... Are there fewer Kickstarter games than there were a few years ago? Or do I just not hear about them as much?

There are still quite a few new ones each year but the novelty wore off and some people got burned by some high profile duds. A kickstarter for a new game just isn't new and exciting as the idea once was.

It's sad how the Mighty No. 9 turned out to be, and Keiji Inafune's Compcept company flopping. At least IntiCreates delivered on a worthy spiritual successor to Megaman Zero/ZX

If there's one good thing about a religious holiday, it's having two 4-workday weeks and a 4 day weekend in the middle.

Time to bring this game back to everyone's attention, if you like having your mind blown by "that's older than that?!" facts.
Got really lucky on the first try, 10 streak... After that all crumbled never reached it again.
Fun fact, there's a physical copy of this called "Timeline". It comes in a round tin and can be played by multiple people, if you get it right you simply lose the card, and if you get it wrong you have to buy another one. First player to empty their hands win. There is also a Star Wars version of the game.

i think, also, the obligation to make an eye-catching and literally rewarding Kickstarter is higher than ever. the buzz has died down, it’s no longer seen as the revolutionary only avenue for making a game, and if something’s going to stand out, it has to try really hard β€” in a way that strains most developers.

which leads to people hiring firms, which leads to those devs being in debt, which leads to burning out with nothing to show for it even with a successful Kickstarter

plus there are so many jabronis out there who are like β€œI have half a notion and refuse to prototype it myself, give me cash so I can hire an untested studio full of people on the verge of giving up the genre for my demanding, unchecked, and frankly deep-sub-mid vision”

which leads to a lot of people resenting a lot of other people

Unity corporate is a shitshow right now and I don’t see that changing anytime soon, but… there’s a reason I’m staying with them while I get my head around making my own games. There are a lot of resources for learning, a lot of platforms supported, and a lot of options when I hit a brick wall.

it’s important to at least try to make things for yourself before dragging other people into it, I think.

You know, the water we have in our city is extremely ... dunno the english word for it ... chalky? Well, it's full of that.

It's not unhealthy or anything ... but yeah.

On top, the water pipes in our house are ancient, and god knows what stuff has gathered in those over the last 50 years (it's a very old house, ~50 years ago what the last time it was fully refurbished).

So yeah ... the fam drinks bottled water.
If its kinda white or milky that could be the calcium from your hot water tank. But yea I only drink bottled water to. I dont trust tap water.

Supercritical ice cold water first thing in the morning hits like nothing else in this world.

I cannot confirm that it's better than most drugs but it's better than some!!
When I get drunk once in a while and wake up I have the most crazy desire for water and when I drink water then omfg it tastes 10x better xD

I don't really play Blobbers. Is this suitable for a newcomer to the genre? And have you managed to test it on Steam Deck?
Yeah it's been tested on Steam Deck and works, has full gamepad controls.

As for the genre, it's actually fairly unique as far as blobbers go. I don't think I've seen any that have an ability bar (which other RPG genres have) for instance. And the game is fully turn based, it's actually more similar to JRPGs in a few ways than CRPGs.

But yeah the perspective is first person, and you don't ever get to "see" your player characters outside of their icons. That's more or less what defines a blobber.

I ended up grabbing Forspoken this weekend because I found a copy for $25, which was low enough for me considering how I enjoyed the demo a while back. Haven't played too much yet but apart from some awkward dialogue I'm enjoying it.

Y’all should a how big my retro game hunt list is so far, and it just consists of genesis, Ds and psp games right now. I plan to add ps2 and Wii games to it here shortly. I just keep finding more games for those systems to add, especially the ds.

I used my Wii for the first time in years this weekend. Thing still works after all this time.

Thanks for the Genesis recommendations @chocolate_supra
