I'm glad someone is finally taking legal action on behalf of Sonic fans. Sega has made millions on the hopes and dreams of suckers Sonic fans these past few decades and it's about time they're taken to court. Where is one of the creators of Sonic right now? That's right. Prison. What's one of Sega's biggest franchises currently? Yakuza. It's easy to make games based on personal experiences.

hundreds

my assumption is that it's hundreds of bullshit 😅
seems like they’re arbitration trolls. the firms in question exist and are legit, but seem sloppy, shady, and spread thin. not BBB accredited, have lots of BBB complaints from people who never heard back and can’t reach them.

however, it seems they have in fact paid out on at least one class action — DoorDash.

I wouldn’t necessarily trust anything based on that, though. I know the types who go fishing like this — they uh. they’re somethin’ fuckin’ else.

Sonic says: Don't be like Mario, wait until marriage.
Yes, wait until marriage to eat mushrooms and jump on chestnuts

Sonic claims what Marion't?
Okay "Marion't" got me 🤣

I know a guy

y’know what, I’m putting him in my game

I remember a report about how the mayority of traffic on Twitter is generated by bots at this point 🤣
Yep. Ground zero for Dead Internet Theory.

Insider trading was just the Capone tax evasion-style excuse to get Yuji Naka for his real crimes

Now which to focus on today. Got the shortlist of games I’ve been jumping around: FFIX and Pikmin 2(credits rolled, I’ve already 100% 2 of the four areas). Plus EDF2025 and Soulcalibur VI as pace breakers.
Kinda tempted to start Mass Effect tho

Speaking of Sonic... Is Superstars worth $30? It's currently on sale.
Yes. Very yes. Matter of fact that's more like what it shoulda launched at imo. Probably woulda fostered a lot more good faith.

It's called Sonic CD because you're better off using it as a CD than a game

I actually did that for a significant amount of my youth! Friggin love that OST.
mine was the us version though

Another CONCACAF Nations League final, another USA vs Mexico the gloves are off deathmatch. So pumped for tonight.

Especially as it launched with Wonder 🫠
It was actually really fun for me to have them launch head-to-head like that. For me it was like a Barbenheimer situation, so at least I'll always have fond memories of that month even though.. yeah, it probably hurt Superstars quite a bit. 😅

Oh no, both daily shirt designs tempt me greatly today

(Most of my t shirts are dying. Did a batch a bit ago and I think these 2 are gonna get me)
I like Sonic CD though

Unrelated, they have Live A Live for Switch on clearance at Target for $25. Couldn't resist at that price so I guess I know what I'm playing after I finish Unicorn Overlord.
There was a couple clearance games but I’m a 30 minute drive over the hill away so probably all gone before I could get there(wasn’t planning to go over the hill till next week anyways)

Today I was made aware of the fact that Nintendo predates both Dracula and Sherlock Holmes. My sense of time is completely in shambles.
iknowrite. Sega isn't quite as old but also predates a lot of (most?) video game companies. I remember reading a 50 year anniversary/retrospective magazine article on Sega back during the mid 90s. Realizing how old Sega was back then kinda blew my mind (so just imagine what realizing how old Nintendo was did to my brain)

One of my favorite "this will never be useful knowledge" fun facts: Nintendo was founded the same year the Eiffel Tower was completed, which is also the same year Van Gogh's Starry Night was painted.

To be incredibly US-centric for a minute, it also means Nintendo's older than like 12 states and has co-existed with about half the presidents. Time is weird

Wait, this isn't true... Sega was started end 1950's/begin 1960's. Sure you don't mean another company?

No idea which date the article picked as the "start" of the company, but it did mention that it had existed in one form or another since the 40s, only that it had changed hands and re-formed a few times

It's a bit messy. Sega as it is now was technically founded in 1960, but it was created from the bones of another few companies that had existed since the 40s which were shut down and then recreated in 1960 for various legal reasons.

One of the pre-60s companies in question was Service Games, which is where the name Sega came from, and Service Games was branding some of their machines as "Sega" as far back as the 50s.
