Yeah, this is more like it.I think just a trailer in January, like they had a trailer in January for 3D World in 2021 or Kirby in 2022.

We can't really confirm this for sure at the moment.it's a game with next to no "game essence" as it's made to target 4 year olds who like peach
....this seems kinda condescendingit's a game with next to no "game essence" as it's made to target 4 year olds who like peach
....Look, you're allowed to not be interested in this type of game, but what kind of response is this lol? You sound like an edgy teenager who claims he only plays "mature games".it's a game with next to no "game essence" as it's made to target 4 year olds who like peach
I wouldn't entertain a response like this if I were you unless it's to laugh and criticize at how childish, stupid, and condescending it sounds. We can't really confirm this for sure at the moment.
It's healthy to be skeptical, but this seems a little negative to me for a Nintendo first party developed game.
Nintendo's track record doesn't really include true baby games. I mean Pikmin 4 is easy as all get out but people still like it. idk
There's still an illusion of strategy.
But like what about the game makes it look it was designed for four year olds? Because of its setting with the theater play?why are all of you assuming I'm talking about the game in a negative light by saying it's for 4 year olds. there's nothing wrong with making a game for 4 year olds
either I'm missing something or you need to reassess your investment in any and all games
edit: ok I just remembered i'm on a forum, a nintendo forum of all places. there actually have been and continue to be people that see a game as inferior and worthy of ridicule because it's made for even younger children, so it's my fault for not being more express with my post that was really just meant to reign in expectations to what I think is likelier to be the reality of the game. it's still gonna be good from what we've seen
I guess I’m 4 years oldit's a game with next to no "game essence" as it's made to target 4 year olds who like peach
It's because it features a cutesy princess character named Peach. The commentary surrounding this game is borderline sexist. But like what about the game makes it look it was designed for four year olds? Because of its setting with the theater play?

game essence is sakurai's term for a game feeling fun because it gives you some sort of stress, and release from that stress thereafter
never thought I'd catch heat for this but that's definitely on me for not thinking about how esoteric the things I know are
anyway the point is the game doesn't look like it's designed around very tight or engaging gameplay but rather more about the less complex gameplay experience of playing as peach, the character, going on an adventure doing things. which is typically what you do for games aimed at kids that are too young to play games that put you in somewhat stressful situations like any mario game does, and is what has been done for games that aim at specifically younger female kids like the entirety of barbie games
I vibe with that, having a game like this with good production values and peach is just neat
some of you are describing this as luigi's mansion but with peach which I don't think is what they're doing here
Whichever it is, maybe then we'll find out the team behind this game. It'll probably shift from being a public demo to being a press demo at smaller press-and-influencer-only events, that will later be recycled for use at store kisoks closer to launch.
What little we saw of this game feels like they weren’t communicating it properly enough either.Feels a bit premature to be trotting out the “game essence” debate when we only have two trailers to go off of.
Word. First teaser felt like: hey, this exists, we’re obviously capitalizing on movie PeachWhat little we saw of this game feels like they weren’t communicating it properly enough either.
Again, it’s also the only 2024 release so far that isn’t a remake/port.Word. First teaser felt like: hey, this exists, we’re obviously capitalizing on movie Peach
Secone teaser felt like: hey, we teased this, here’s a more limited look at it
Of course. I presume their marketing campaign was gonna blast off with Nintendo Live and the demo, but I presume that changedAgain, it’s also the only 2024 release so far that isn’t a remake/port.
They may have to force themselves to make a big deal out of it.
This part is still just speculation.we’re obviously capitalizing on movie Peach
the movie had also been in development for longer than when the movie came out...I reckon this game's been in development for a longer time than the movie's been out. I personally doubt there's any direct link between the two.

I did too. But there wasn't anything else. I have my own children and it has been great that there are games for a different age groups nowadays. And different genders. I really don't like your comment at all. It shows complete misunderstanding and ignorance of children.I played mainline Mario games as a kid, I hate this dumbification of kids that companies and their marketing are into these days. This is why Yoshi games are hella boring now, I hope Peach doesn't go down that route, but it does look like it.
You've got a good point, sorry. I don't think Peppa Big game are laughable, just not for me.I did too. But there wasn't anything else. My three year old just discovered Peppa Pig games and it was a joy to watch. But no, hardcore gamers laugh at those titles.
It's not wrong to want this be more adult game. It would be ok for me as well. But I don't like that kind of selfish attitude.

Was trying to say that it feels redundant when Nintendo does it, they already design Mario games to be playable by everyone.
If they really were really trying to spotlight this at an event and then those plans got disrupted, maybe they'll give it a special mini-Direct of it's own?Kind of weird there hasn't been another trailer for this by now. You'd think there would have been with the original schedule for Nintendo Live.
It seems like they mostly have the marketing bandwidth to only push one unreleased game at a time. The plan might have originally been to show Peach more at Nintendo Live, but with that scrapped and Another Code out the door they seem in full-on Mario vs Donkey Kong mode at the moment. I'm guessing whatever they had for Peach is being held until either the next direct or closer to when MvDK launches (whichever comes first)Kind of weird there hasn't been another trailer for this by now. You'd think there would have been with the original schedule for Nintendo Live.
They never would have announced anything at Nintendo Live itself, but you'd think they'd have a trailer detailing the game a bit more beforehand since they were supposed to have a demo there. Perhaps that trailer has been delayed with the event cancelled. If they really were really trying to spotlight this at an event and then those plans got disrupted, maybe they'll give it a special mini-Direct of it's own?
Or maybe it's own Nintendo treehouse Live segment?
could be major elements of the game they've kept close to the chest this whole time, like they did for other Switch games in past years
Uhh, this is normal? We're still two months out from release, marketing hasn't started yet. We didn't know who was developing Mario RPG or Another Code until they were about to come out. And names aren't revealed during the reveal half the time, just look at Smash Ultimate, Animal Crossing New Horizons, and Tears of the Kingdom. The only thing that's a little weird is the box art change, and that can be explained by the movie design. The whole thing surrounding this game is beyond weird, like what the fuck:
Like, can this scream Switch twilight year leftover any harder?
- Barely shown off, just twice
- Name wasn't even decided on yet in the first reveal
- No word on the dev team (only reason it's still a mystery is because it's a whole new kind of game)
- Barely any advertising
- The "controversial" movie-ish Peach change to the box art
- No further word since then
- Demo was supposed to be at an event that got cancelled (thanks a lot, assholes who made those threats)
Depends on how fun/cool she ends up being.Don’t know if this has been discussed yet, but how do we feel about Grape sticking around?
the answer to that question would be the developer's intentions and if the game succeeds. that said, I'm not sure if Nintendo or NLG expected King Boo to continue as he didDon’t know if this has been discussed yet, but how do we feel about Grape sticking around? Mario doesn’t really have any recurring female antagonists outside like… Wendy and Pom Pom.
I feel like she’s liable to be another one-off, but if Peach becomes its own series, she could always end up something like King Boo in Luigi’s Mansion; a main antagonist in a subseries that shows up infrequently in the main series and spin-offs.
Just a thought. I think it would be fun.
I think this depends entirely on if this game is being made by EPD or not.Don’t know if this has been discussed yet, but how do we feel about Grape sticking around? Mario doesn’t really have any recurring female antagonists outside like… Wendy and Pom Pom.
Yeah, like I said previously, what little was shown so far hasn’t really gotten the message across yet.Is it just me, or does the gameplay we’ve seen seem kinda barebones? Like there hasn’t been a real hook yet, which is bad for a new franchise (yes it’s a Mario game, but it’s still a new spin-off series with original gameplay/ideas). I hope I’m wrong though, I would love for this to start something great

I’m sure we’ll get some sort of trailer in its place. And if not, we will surely get an extended look at the February directYeah, like I said previously, what little was shown so far hasn’t really gotten the message across yet.
Oof, if only those jerks didn’t force them to cancel Nintendo Live.
Unless Showtime surprises and goes on to sell like 10 million, I'm fully expecting Grape to be a one-off and join the likes of Wart and Tatanga on "And we never saw them again" IslandDon’t know if this has been discussed yet, but how do we feel about Grape sticking around? This game looks like a compilation of genres. Hopefully it’s not a quantity over quality thing. This game is reminding me a lot of Luigi's Mansion 3, which I wasn't a fan of. Hopefully this game is better than that.
What you didn’t like about Luigi's Mansion 3?This game is reminding me a lot of Luigi's Mansion 3, which I wasn't a fan of. Hopefully this game is better than that.
The camera angle and controls, mostly. I hate not being able to control a camera in a 3D game, it throws off my depth perception. I also felt that Luigi wasn't fun to control. Other than that, the game was just kinda boring. It's weird because Dark Moon was the first game I ever completed and I liked it, so I'm not sure why LM3 was so different. What you didn’t like about Luigi's Mansion 3?
Almost the opposite for me. Dark moon was alright, but also lukewarm. LM3 was really good, pretty much close in quality to the original Luigi's Mansion. The camera angle and controls, mostly.
