Speaking of weekend video games:
I literally just now found out I can have Hendrick dual-wield goddamn axes and now I'm gonna fuck shit up
There was a 4th character planned for 3?what if Pikmin 4 was co-op focused
what if we could finally play as D
There was a 4th character planned for 3?
Wasn't 2021 supposed to be crazy? And 2020?
I didn't know anything was gonna be allowed to sell more than Dread for the rest of the year. Isn't that, like, against the rules we set?
Hell yeah!
It is yes and unfortunately we'll have to ban these games for breaking our Very Important Rules.I didn't know anything was gonna be allowed to sell more than Dread for the rest of the year. Isn't that, like, against the rules we set?
To be fair, if BDSP didn't outsell Metroid Dread, that would be an extreme underperformance.
aw man this sucks
? Dread has done super well. It was never going to outsell Pokemon though.aw man this sucks
I've been talking to a friend about how the value of a good Metroidvania plummeted due to indies. Dread was never going to do all that well over 20 bucks
I think it's less "indies dropped the value of Metroidvanias and Dread sold bad" and more "it's fucking Pokemon and people love DP, of course it's a sales smash." Dread was successful for what it was and probably met Nintendo's expectations.aw man this sucks
I've been talking to a friend about how the value of a good Metroidvania plummeted due to indies. Dread was never going to do all that well over 20 bucks
dread has done very well for itself in all the charts we've seen, and shown quite good legs. the fact that pokemon, the biggest entertainment brand in the world, did better doesn't really mean anything.aw man this sucks
I've been talking to a friend about how the value of a good Metroidvania plummeted due to indies. Dread was never going to do all that well over 20 bucks
I wouldn't take this as a sign Dread has done poorly. It has outperformed the rest of the Metroid series in the UK - this is more a testament to the strength of Pokemon, which has also outsold almost every other major release in the UK across all formats. Only FIFA had a bigger launch and FIFA is huge in the UK.aw man this sucks

To be fair "sold less than a Pokemon game" is one hell of a ceilingaw man this sucks

yeah i think dring just wants to put in perspective how good pokemon has done, not how weak dread's performance was.I was about to say that the most important thing for relatively unpopular series is growth, which Dread has. I took that tweet as gloating about Dread's weak sales without noticing how obscenely well pokemon is doing
Almost there; haven't quite passed Gold and Silver.Should also be noted the other major Pokemon releases on Switch have, predictably, done very well. Aren't Sword and Shield the second best selling titles now, after gen 1?
they were super close as of the end of september, they will be the 2nd best selling gen when we get the next report in a few months.Should also be noted the other major Pokemon releases on Switch have, predictably, done very well. Maybe they know something that we don't
i'm so oldNINTENDO DS IS 17 TODAY I.....
That was clearly less about pointing out the scale of Pokemon and more about damning with faint praise how much Metroid actually contributes to Nintendo's bottom line to fans' dismay
Ooo didn't know that, excellent point! But they'll probably just do something special at the Kirby Cafe and call it done.(I say the latter; April 27th is Kirby's 30th anniversary after all).
If it helps you feel better, Nintendo just turned 132 years old in September.i'm so old
Traditionally, the "red" version (Red/Gold/Ruby/Diamond/Black/X/Sun/Sword) sells better than the "blue" version (Blue/Silver/Sapphire/Pearl/White/Y/Moon/Shield). The exception to this is the second generation games and their remakes, where Silver and SoulSilver outsold Gold and HeartGold, mainly thanks to Lugia's appearance in Pokémon 2000 and the anime.Does the "blue" version of Pokemon traditionally sell better than the "red" version?
is the ds considered retro yetNINTENDO DS IS 17 TODAY I.....
thank you, that does helpIf it helps you feel better, Nintendo just turned 132 years old in September.
still waiting on Xenoblade 2's delayThis "Kirby HAS to be May" thing is reminding me a lot of the "Pokemon Legends CAN'T POSSIBLY release in Early 2022" routine some of y'all did on Era earlier this year.
Scamco have been holding on to .Hack since August. So you never know.there ain't no way they're holding onto it that long when it's already been rated by the ESRB
interesting, i had noticed that the copyright notice on the eshop hadn't changed when the page on PG's site did.Platinum previously edited their website leaving only Nintendo in the copyright of Astral Chain, and as they confirmed in later interviews, it was because Nintendo became the sole owner of the series.
But on the Nintendo website and in the eshop, the copyright remained outdated (understandable, considering that the amount of data handled by Nintendo in its store is much larger than the platinum listing on its website). Well, it seems that they have already fixed that outdated data, and currently in the eshop and on the nintendo website it appears as the sole owner of Astral Chain

It was really known that Nintendo was the only owner for a long time, but I wanted to share this curiosity that they have also updated it on their website and eshop.
The only thing I've been doing since I got my hands on my Switch is playing it. I mean I'm kinda addicted to Super Mario Odyssey. I played almost until dawn today lol. Tomorrow my classes are back so I'll have to step on the breaks so I don't go to sleep late.I made the mistake of playing video games this weekend.
Don't be like me.
Hope ya'll are all doing well and taking care of yourselves
Here is my new listJanuary: Pokémon Legends
February: nothing (maybe a NSO game? Like Tetris 99)
March: Kirby ATFL, Triangle Strategy (west only)
April: Advance Wars 1+2
May: Casual game
June: Splatoon 3
July: Fire Emblem
August: M+R2
September: Bayonetta 3
October: another casual game, Zelda BOTW2
November: Metroid Prime Remaster
December: Xenoblade 3
I predict this as lineup.
Aonuma talked about during the development of BotW it was thought about having Zelda playable. What if BotW2 is co-op focused
Swap Zelda and Metroid and that'd be what I expect.January: Pokémon Legends

giving Link magic arm does leave room for Zelda to use the tablet. hmm...Aonuma talked about during the development of BotW it was thought about having Zelda playable.
I think it would be an awesome ideia both to have a co-op mode(online and/or split screen). But with the trailers it seems like Link and Zelda split.
I think another great possibility is having a Link and a Zelda campaign (like you have a Leon and Claire campaign in RE 2, or how you can play as either Kung Lao or Liu Kang in MK Shaolin Monks and its co-op is great!).
Exactly. I think the only thing that's more irritating is the "BotW2 will of course be delayed" or "no way it comes in 2022".This "Kirby HAS to be May" thing is reminding me a lot of the "Pokemon Legends CAN'T POSSIBLY release in Early 2022" routine some of y'all did on Era earlier this year.
Remember folks; Star Allies was dated for 'Spring 2018' in 2017 and got its final March release date in January 2018. You may notice that Triangle Strategy and Advance Wars are launching very early in their respective months; absolutely nothing stopping Kirby from slotting in later in March or April (I say the latter; April 27th is Kirby's 30th anniversary after all).
I mean, let's be honest. Triangle Strategy isn't big enough to carry the entire month of March. It's no Monster Hunter. This "Kirby HAS to be May" thing is reminding me a lot of the "Pokemon Legends CAN'T POSSIBLY release in Early 2022" routine some of y'all did on Era earlier this year.
