Not the most exciting Indie World for me, but Let's Play: Oink Games an instapurchase, so there is that
That was a very pleasant surprise to see.

I really need to read up on Chicory. Sea of Stars I kickstarted so I’m just happy to see it’ll be available on Switch.

Omari I’ll probably get on Steam to go with the rest of the RPGMaker games.

lol I completely forgot Indie World was at 12pm for me so I just watched it now

happy to see a few things there! stoked to play Chicory, Omori, and Olli Olli World soon on the Switch! And Sea of Stars looks good, even if it’s a year or more away.

Is (actually 'was' now) Nagoshi really the only one who could make that call? I presume SEGA had a say in the matter also.
Yes, he said that repeatedly. He said he just doesn't "see" Yakuza on Switch. He also decided on Sakura Wars' platform, said PS4 is an adult platform and perfect for it. And pissed a lot of us off.

We'll see if Sega's attitude would change now he's not there. Nintendo now definitely would try to reach them about it (iwata himself asked Yakuza for Wii U but they didn't bother to localize it).

look Hollow Knight is my favorite game and Silksong is my most anticipated game but I really didn’t think it would be here and people need to stop assuming it’ll be at every event. Or honestly that it will be at any event.

when it’s really coming, we will know.

until then, there’s plenty else to do

Not gonna lie, I still feel like the BOTW2 patent drops are by far the most interesting and exciting news of the day.
You feel like that because it's true.

Literally exactly the ones I'm hyped for, too!

In all fairness, Zippo called Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.

You can be unreliable while having 1 or 2 good sources, those are not mutually exclusives.
Or you might get a good guess in every so often. Either way Z*ppo can have that one, he was right about P4 Arena multiplat rerelease.

it’s not even pattern math or “it’s too big for Indie / deserves a full direct / they wouldn’t show it until E3” thing.

when it’s ready to go and they want to show it, they’ll do that. If it’s at an event, it’ll be whatever event is closest to that time. But it may not even be at an event! It obviously has a powerful presence already.

it could happen anywhere, any time.

I think they’ll try to avoid the last quarter unless that’s how it lines up. Other than that, it’ll really just be based on when they have it how they want it.

I don’t anticipate a shadowdrop, but I think the time from release date announcement to release will be fairly short.

I barely know what Silksong is but I‘d guess it was announced too early
they were kind of in a position where they had to announce it – it started life as a Hollow Knight DLC but then very quickly became a sequel. They knew for years, but didn’t announce until all the Hollow Knight free updates were finished and shipped.

They couldn’t leave backers wondering what happened to the last DLC. Plus, a full sequel is a very exciting twist! It just meant that it would be a while.

It’s similar to the BOTW2 problem – since it’s similar to Hollow Knight and had so much to work with at the beginning, lots of people assumed it was almost finished when it was announced.

I don’t blame anyone, it looked fucking good in the trailers. Then the E3 gameplay was robust, and there was a playable demo at PAX!

but they’ve said the whole time that they were going ham and it was going to take a bit. “Coming Soon” was never their language – Nintendo said that as a meaningless placeholder.

Anybody here remember HD rumble?
one of the best features of the Switch that is deeply underutilized? hell yeah

I’m grateful for it every day, especially playing Hollow Knight

There’s a bit of amusing charade in the Smash community where they want to ban Steve or rather some are upset that Steve is a cheese character lol

It’s amusing because it only happen cause a top player got defeated by one (top play privilege lol) and cause it’s the usual overraction. Something that they can become the next Bayo and Meta Knight. But Bayo happen immediately after she released and Steve has been out for a while, with the initial release many thought he was mid-tier at best lol.

It’s all amusing and I’m sure it’ll die down with everyone cooling off. Just hilarious that Steve is getting folks upset.

Yeah at this point they could even announce it in a patent filing

The best part about today's patent drop is that we now already know which song Nintendo will use to promote BotW 2.

I knew what it was but I still needed to click every spoiler to make sure.

This is an excellent summary.

Wasn’t blown away by the Indie World, but I expected that, so my hype wasn’t sky high to begin with. There just aren’t any big indie games left that I care about. I’m looking forward to Sports Story for sure, but it’s not like I LOVED Golf Story. I’m sure I’ll enjoy a couple of the games that were announced, though (except OMORI which I own on PC and didn’t care for at all).

Jezus. I'd thought somebody like Nagoshi would be more forward thinking than he actually is it seems. Kinda disappointing tbh. Talking about what's an "adult" platform and what not is so fucking petty to me.

Sea of Stars makes me want more games with 2D visuals from Nintendo. Hell, I'll still take a remastered version of Four Swords Adventures - that'd look glorious with updated visuals. And it's a criminally overlooked game to boot which would finally be properly playable for a big audience on Switch.

Really happy for Omori

And there is the festive discounts starting tomorrow (for Europe)

Io really hope to se Turok 1&2 finally return 7/8 euros

If you just go here and log into your Nintendo account, you should get the results.

You should be able to just log in to that site and get your stats.
Thanks, but unfortunately I had 'Send Play Data to Nintendo' turned off. I tend to just automatically do that nowadays so I must have completely forgot :(

I just read the entire plot summary of Omori on Wikipedia and man oh man am I glad I didn't try to play that shit

Holy fuck. Thanks for the heads up. Was interested based off the trailer since it had shades of Earthbound to it, but that doesn't sound like something I want to play at all.

Why does every Earthbound-like lean so hard on the depressing/edgy shit?

To associate themes of depression with "edgy shit" is pretty shitty of you

Got myself a profile picture. After what happened on Era I won't be using my real face and name anymore - which is a net positive for this forum because the Sesame Street Gangster is a much better looking fella anyways.

Loving the vibe here, really hoping it won't get watered down too much in time :) .

Looked it up.

Yeah. Had no interest in it, but if it was cheap I would’ve considered it. the themes it’s dealing with are not for me. Don’t have the mental strength right now to see them

Yeah, the Smash Community is kinda wild. To me it's kinda exhaustive to keep up with them because they're always upset and all up in arms by every little thing and then they forget one month later only to be up in arms with another little thing.

I should've been clearer that the reason I stated both "Depressing" and "edgy shit" was to differentiate between two separate types of games (specifically, the edgy comment was in my mind referencing Undertale), but that isn't clear in my comment.

What exactly makes Undertale "edgy" to you?

Lowkey the best aspect about Game Pass is not paying a monthly fee to play at on of games but paying a monthly fee to try a ton of games that you end up not liking so you don't spend more money on them.

Three "Somebody that I used to know" songs playing out of synch in my ears when I clicked on this thread just now wtf lol

Pretty much yeah

I have bought some games that I first played there though. I wonder how many other people actually do that.

Definitely. I’ve downloaded certain games and deleted them within half an hour. It makes me really glad that I didn’t pay full price or even $20 for some of them.

I do this with some indie games. Try them on Game Pass, if I enjoy them enough I end up buying them on Switch.

It's serious;y the first time I thought of the service at looking at it from that angle. Somehow the service makes more sense (for me personally at least) now. Haha, weird how that works. I maybe had gamepass for a year or something and it just felt like a waste. Like Playstation+ did to me. And Netflix, Disney+ and all other streaming stuff I ended.
