I don't know when it happened, but YouTube comments (at least on medium to large videos) have gone from absolutely garbage cesspits five years ago to comedy heaven in the past year or two.

The cesspits have moved to videos about Covid or the vaccines.

thinking about how I play handheld more than docked

thinking about how nice that OLED screen probably is (haven't seen it in person myself)

hmmm

154 total games played (last year was 204)
1370 hours (last year was 1925 hours)
Animal Crossing was 222 hours
Hades 131 hours
Pokemon Diamond was 67. Which is inaccurate as it's at 80 hours.
1153 hours docked
217 hours in handheld

I had a lot more time to game last year with my job closed.
about inaccurancies. It's so weird. Because my Switch is clocking Mario + Rabbids at 75 hours, but Nintendo Wrapped is clocking it at 64 hours.

Yes, that was my most played game this year

It’s a bit strange. Appearently they track since NSO started, have a Switch since launch but it only shows 940 days.
1) Tony Hawk (120h)
2) Grindstone (90h)
3) Skywards Sword (60h)

89% handheld

36 games this year (37 last year)
522 hours (859 last year)
This year
- Monster Hunter Rise: 115 Hours
- Stardew Valley: 62 Hours
- Ring Fit Adventure: 61 Hours
Last Year:
- Animal Crossing: 492 Hours (bruh lmao)
By month, January had the most at 72 hours, but April was 69 (nice) and I could at least attribute that to Pokemon Snap and MH Rise
Sunday Jan 10th with 10 hours of gameplay (eight of which was Stardew Valley haha)
457 hours docked, 65 handheld (guess this is just another firm reminder I should just buy an OLED TV rather than an OLED Switch lol)

Ahhh, totally forgot I played through Donut County this year, that was a fun little reminder.

the one thing i hate about the wrapped is that it reminded me I played 900+ hours of Animal Crossing last year. Unemployment and covid really played a role there lol

yeah, it’s kinda amazing that YouTube commentary sections become stand-up comedy shows if a video is popular enough

Dear Hobonichi Techo: why must the Earthbound/Mother products I want be out of stock every time I check
Yoooo, you should check back at the end of march/start of april. Because their Cousin line-up sales starts then and they restock most of their 2021 line-up too!

Every now and then I feel like a planner/Techo would be cool to have but I'd be afraid I'd just... not use it
There is lots of ways you can use a techo. If you're not sure how to use a techo, choose a day-free planner so you don't feel forced to use it daily and you can just use it whenever you feel like it (you of course always van but you know what I mean :) )

This is so true. I thought it was the type of video's I watched but all the racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic garbage made way for pretty funny commentary and at times really useful and insightful commentary!

269 hours on MH Rise
103 hours on Great Ace Attorney
84 hours on Smash

Capcom really carried 2021 for me lol. But then again this year had so many good games such as Bravely Default 2, NEO, Metroid Dread and Danganronpa to name a few.

I wouldn't have experience this many games on the 3ds. It would have a decent year then multiple droughts. The Switch has improved so much from both 1st and 3rd party software.

wow the Switch wrapped keeps getting dunked hard on my moderately new phone

huh, not what I expected

116 games (vs. 173)
652 hours (vs. 964)

1. Pokémon Shining Pearl (77)
2. LoZ: Skyward Sword (56)
3. LoZ: Breath of the Wild (41)

vs. Animal Crossing (216) in 2020

Most Active Day:
10 hours (8 on Ender Lillies)

542 Docked / 110 Handheld

I’m really surprised that THPS 1+2 isn’t up there. I’ve spent a looooot of time on it this year.

Also, I definitely played more games on my Kijiji PS4 Slim this year, so that probably skewed things. Notably finally playing and finishing Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

What I can’t figure out is this:

When did I put that much time into Breath of the Wild??

I don’t even remember PLAYING it this year…

Just realized CES 2022 is in three and a half weeks.

Wonder if LG C1 TV's will still be on sale (if manufactured at all) come February 2022, or if the new TVs with fancy features will be worth dropping a few dollars on

I played 1728 hours with 37 games in 2021

FWIW Anihawk has mentioned remasters of The Last Story and Pandora's Tower being considered in the past, but neither got off the ground.
That's a damn damn DAMN shame man. These games deserve so much more attention. Especially Pandora's tower, which I always saw as a weird Castlevania spin-off lol. Both have excellent soundtracks too.

oh god I guess I also played a fair bit of Wii U this year too, plus a lot of Pokémon games on the 2DS

a few notable Suswave Switch hours
  • Metroid Dread (35)
  • Super Mario 3D World (35)
  • THPS 1+2 (25)
  • Ender Lillies (25)
  • New Pokémon Snap (15)
  • Axiom Verge 2 (15)
  • Eastward (15)
  • Timespinner (10)
  • Glyph (10)
a few other notable things
  • Beat Super Metroid, Fusion, and Zero Mission for the first time
  • Beat Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Aria of Sorrow, and Circle of the Moon for the first time
  • Beat Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Moon, and Pokémon White for the first time
  • Watched my partner crush it at Hades, Spiritfarer, and Hollow Knight
  • Finally beat Path of Pain in Hollow Knight as a team (my partner and I kept trading off on different sections for three days straight and it was HARROWING)
  • Beat Horizon Chase Turbo with my partner (they are absolutely better at racing games than I am)
  • Played Cruuuuuuuuuis’n!
  • and most importantly, got glasses so I can see what games are supposed to look like
wr-wr-wr-wr-wrapped

743 hours played this year, across 106 games. Most played games:

1. Animal Crossing New Horizons
2. Monster Hunter Rise
3. Metroid Dread

  1. Monster Hunter Rise (Wrapped says 204 hrs, Switch Profile says 195… Maybe wrapped counts the Demo towards the total playtime, otherwise that is wildly inconsistent.)
  2. Hades (75 hrs, played it a ton in January/February)
  3. SMT V (65 hrs)
Other notable ones:
  • Metroid Dread (40 hrs)
  • WarioWare (15 hrs)
  • Axiom Verge 2 (15 hrs)
  • Dungeon Encounters (25 hrs)
  • also played a lot of Smash and Dead Cells, but no clue how much exactly this year

Just got my PAX East tickets for next year. Two years ago was my last big event before the world shut down, can't wait to return + glad they're requiring vax.

oh dayum, nearly 30% of my game time was spent docked on Switch. The rest was handheld.

I play a lot of "endless" type games on my Lite, so I guess that explains it. My OLED is reserved for big single player games.

It didn't mean anything when they took down Chrono Resurrection and Crimson Echoes and it doesn't mean anything now.

1. Give us this day our daily crossing - 241 hours
2. Queer Greek gods 'r' us - 85 hours
3. Existential Dread - 35

My played time on Switch this year was 21 hours. Most of that Dread. I'm really just not a Switch guy lol.

It’s saids I have 114 hours on Three Houses.

I don’t have anything near that. Someone is using my switch when I ain’t looking 🤨

Anyways. Ignore that and it’s Xenoblade Definitive edition at 80 hours. Which sounds about right. I didn’t start playing the game until this year. Then Slay the Spire at 54 hours (So gooood).
