I was repeatedly told that it was releasing during the second half of 2022.

Nintendo doesn't normally announce games that far in advance. Unless it's a massively important game like Breath of the Wild 2 or Metroid Prime 4.

I loved Final Fantasy XII on PS2. It’s still my second favorite Final Fantasy game. Happy to see all the love here :) One day I have to replay it.

It absolutely makes sense to keep Metroid in the Oct-Nov timeframe where it just found huge success, at which point why not release it on the 20th anniversary?

I do think they will show MP4 alongside it, just to avoid confusion/outrage. Which leads me to think E3 is the absolute earliest we see either. Though, as you mentioned, they could wait even later.

Sorry, I didn't see anything but outrageous praise for Mitsuda, I must've glossed over some details.
 
One of the suckiest things about having a writing job is that I basically can't listen to any music with lyrics while I work because I get distracted easily (what undiagnosed ADD hahaha why would you say that??) so I basically get to either listen to film and game soundtracks or dig through several gigs of beat tapes from the early aughts for work.

as the Gameleys inch towards us in the night, a couple considerations:

1. don’t overhype! please heed my elf-adjacent warnings!

I’ve only been meaningfully lurking Nintendo threads for a few years now but the chaos and fury around Keighleytime is something else

2. i was gonna make some conjecture about Nintendo liking to connect to things that are present at the TGAs or have been present at past TGAs but two out of three of my half-remembered facts were actually wrong

so I’m uh owning that this didn’t need to be a list instead of just changing the format. yahoo!
 
It's gonna be the new Triangle Strategy's trailer and a Kirby/Splatoon trailer and they'll call it a day.

It was supposed to release this time this year. Original window of announcement was early 2021 -- around January/February, and then launch late Nov/early Dec 2021. Given the western focus of TGA... I think Nintendo holds XBC3 for the first Direct of 2022... if they opt to give it a similar marketing lead as XBC2.

This is the same event that announced Bravely Default 2 and Bayonetta 2 so I wouldnt rule it out because of western focus. Also Geoff in the past said he wants to branch out to different markets for the show.

I fell into the League of Legends rabbit hole for a few years, after that experience even the longest RPGs seem positively mild.
