hahaha that's totally fine by me

I was starting to get a bit nervous from all the Direct thread talk anyway, it needed to be public sooner

to anyone reading this, I won't be able to provide further details until after my uni semester ends, but yes, I've gotten the go-ahead to reinvent the Direct thread

This is early Christmas.

Before Nintendo Direct speculation, we need our December indie presentation. Give it to me Nintendo!

YESSSSS. I first discovered the Direct thread two years ago right before Christmas, when I think you were OP? It's all coming full circle!

And honestly, no huge need to start it before the semester ends anyway, Direct spec prime time starts late December more or less

I find Halo Infinite to be one of the most intriguing games I have seen in a while. Intriguing in that I am curious to see what the ultimate reception will be. The multiplayer looks to be a hit and the campaign first impressions are pretty glowing. But I am curious about how well the game can sustain its more open world approach. 343 is clearly trying to invoke the original Halo and they are certainly doing that well. But so far, we have only seen one environment. Chief is only fighting the Covenant/Banished. I can't help but wonder if 343 is holding something back whether it's an entirely new area, new enemy faction, something. But we haven't seen had many teases to anything more in the trailers. No glimpses of unseen levels. There's that one character who seems to be a new alien race but is it just her or are there more? Previews have said there are hints towards the Flood but are they really coming back?

It's not like with Breath of the Wild, or Metroid Dread, or God of War 2018 where I knew right away the devs would hit it out of the park. With Halo Infinite, I just don't know where it will finally land in the pantheon of great games and in the Halo series itself. And that's what makes it intriguing to me. I wish I had an Xbox Series to play the game on. I could try it on Steam but my PC is from 2016 so I don't know how hell the game will run. I guess I could download the multiplayer as a test.

Animating was one of the things I actually liked best about blender. Then again I wasn't doing it for a class. And I also was terrible at it (case in point: )

there is so much talent in this group holy shit

I don’t think I should share any of my old 2D animation or chaotic music videos but that’s the extent of my power – I can’t 3D model to save my life for whatever reason

In all seriousness, I just destroyed a foot-long tuna at Subway. The first Subway I've had in months. The craving will come, and it's so good. But I think I'm good for a few more months lol
counterpoint: a foot is small in tuna sizes, so why not leave the flesh on the fish and cut out the sub-middleman?

subversion: eat fish

I think someone should start another Nintendo General Discussion ST at midnight since this one clearly became radioactive within its first day of operation.
: ( but I worked so hard

anyhow finally a big public HELL YEAH and CONGRATS

What was the easter egg? I am big dumb and don't get it despite having read the whole OP several times
first paragraph, first sentence – there’s a little linked asterisk after the phrase Nintendo Direct Speculation

Speaking of which, can I talk about how much I love "The Witty December Talk Zone Of Hits"
thank youuuuu, I know it’s a bit of a deeper cut but I had to include it, I couldn’t stop cackling after I made it

I'm currently finishing ARR before the Endwalker maintenance at the insistence of my friend. Like I've learned is sort of the meme, she essentially browbeat me into buying the game and playing. But to her chagrin, that was back in May and I've been playing casually and taking my time to explore it all, so I'm only reaching the end of the 2.55 patch now. I'm excited to experience Heavensward and start some new jobs maybe, since my Bard and Red Mage are just a few levels away from 80!

Although, I do have one large predicament: keep my catboy whose look I think I've perfected and grown very attached to, or make my transition to bunny boy as soon as possible?

I figured lady dimitrescu wouldn’t have a big role in the Resident Evil game. The little marketing I saw it was the same scenes over and over again.

But after playing it, it seeing she’s in it for so little and doesn’t really do much lol. Now I’m wondering Why she get nomainted for voice acting. It was good but nothing amazing.

Anyways. Village and VII are weird. Going for more horror is fine and the first person is used a lot to it’s advantages tho I really dislike first person for resident evil. But I’m missing the cheesiness and not so serious storytelling. Yet Ethan is weird, saids a bunch of cheesy lines but the super seriousness of the game is a whiplash lol. But it is funny that it sounds like he’s more annoyed then scared in both games.

Still dislike the scripted events where I lose control. Keep trying to aim my weapon or look around and I’m just stuck. Makes a re-run a chore. Anyways carrying on, I’ll probably almost half way. (?)

I see I missed a lot today!

May I ask what is causing you the hangups? I assume you mean The Demon King's Castle 3rd Stratum? Some of the jumping is a little annoying but it was a pretty short section, I thought

That's exactly what I meant - I did beat it moments after I wrote this piece in emotion though so now I enjoy the game agan :p

I did have to re-do that one part quite a bit and 3 times in a row I bounched all the way to the very beginning of the room via the fans, and that was just total BS.
Section wasnt long but it was just a very bad segment hehe

This score basically fits in with the rest of the series, it was around 70 for the DS and Wii games as well.

70s MC titles are the true galaxy brain gMes

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Big Brain Academy so i'm not surprised by the reception.

Mythra feet

This getting an warning is bs if I have to be honest. Mythra is more covered and less sexualized than she is in her normal outfit.

I wasn’t even horniposting, I posted it because it was metadiscourse on Xenoblade and the feet stuff I didn’t even comment on.

Going to reiterate that the Nintendo Thing I want featured at TGA is some wacky collaboration nobody asked for or predicted.

We know Prime HD is going to happen in 2022, we know Zelda is on the way, we've finally had things as diverse as actual Bayonetta 3 gameplay footage, a 3D Kirby announcement, an Advance Wars Reboot, goddamn Detective Club, and Metroid Dread not only being real but even getting GOTY nominations and wins. Let's keep the Switch Surprise Streak going at the Keighleys.

So the last couple of months chronic fatigue has been on/off absolutely kicking my arse and from what I can tell it's seasonal - a similar thing happened last year but I more or less blanked it from memory, I think, because of how bad I felt. Makes it harder to take part in different things/threads/topics around here but I aiming to do that and to stay involved because this is a good place with good folk.

Anyway I guess what I'm really saying is 2021 should forever be remembered as the Yoshio Sakamoto Redemption Arc, the year of Famiboards' founding, and therefore really we should move away from 2021 AD and 2021 CE and go with 1 FB as the actual year. Clearly this also means that, in the FamiZodiac, year 1 is a Yoshio Sakamoto Year.

I'd cry real happy tears if Nintendo's big TGA announcement was a Buddy Mission Bond localization.

Lady Dimitrescu's popularity is literally just people being horny on main.

In a way that would be considered weird if it wasn't a mainstream AAA game.

I agree with all of this, really. I'd also add that it's one of the weirdest releases of recent memory in terms of how it's being rolled out.

The game known as 'Halo: Infinite' is really two games unlike, say, Call of Duty where you get Campaign, MP, Zombies, etc all in a single package. The multiplayer is F2P so there's literally no barrier to entry, and the campaign is available on Game Pass so you can feasibly play it for $1 if you want. So you're only actually buying the campaign when you buy, or subscribe to GP to play, Halo Infinite.

So what are people going to review? Halo: Infinite - the campaign? The collection of two almost-entirely seperate games known as 'Halo: Infinite'? Do they review the campaign on the basis of it being full-price (well, less-than-full-price thanks to Sony!), or do they review it on the basis that a lot of people are going to play it on Game Pass? For instance, in my life the game is essentially free due to my Game Pass subscription - there's no investment I'm making in it that I wouldn't have made anyway to play other stuff. It's so weird.

Personally I think it'll get high 80s in the review aggregates. I don't think it'll be a disappointment, definitely, but I'm not entirely sure that 343 can pull off the "unilateral critical praise," thing that we see with Nintendo and Sony's flagship games.
