Morning folks, anyone able to give me a recap for the last 4 days? I was mostly on tour with the fam due to a 4 day weekend and didn't get much.

Yeah echoing Bonejacks question - and would like a short recaps, what killed team september in the last week?

Been at a music festival for 5 days so I'm just too darn mess of a man right now (though getting to see Pantera, Ghost, Gojira and much more is worth it) but I cant muster the strength to read 60 pages :p
It was the one-two combo that did it for Team September, though not necessarily within the last few days (my sense of time is super iffy). Firstly Jeff Grubb pointing to a July Direct, then NecroFelipe, a Brazilian journalist, outright saying a Direct is happening this month. That basically turned the thread into a June v July contest, despite Team September being much bigger than Team July.

To answer both of you, I don't think team September is killed just yet, they still have hope. Necro said on this site that Direct incoming, "sooner than later" on Twitter said that it's this month and heard about new Mario & Sonic Olympics game that he thinks they will announce there. Other than that someone posted Nate saying on Reddit that "I haven't given any comment on a Direct in June, stay tuned.", yesterday he posted a poll on YouTube "which showcase would you rate the best?" And last option was "The yet to be announced but will certainly come Nintendo Direct". Nate said multiple times that he will not hint at Direct happening but am posting all that happened in last few days so here you go. Other than that, I don't think I have missed something imporatnt.

It’s still anyone’s game at this point, whether you lean more towards what Grubb says or what the Brazilian journalists says. Because insiders don’t typically even know what kind of direct is coming even if they do know of its existence, and the poll does specify a general full length direct. And ironically enough, the one game being majorly hinted at here (Mario/Sonic) is a game that would easily fit in a general, mini, or partner.

With Nate it’s hard to tell because he’s either pulling our chain about not hinting towards a direct coming or going full force on the meme of one coming soon like others have.

But yeah like others have said, nothing too game changing has happened this past weekend.

I’m excited to possibly see Metroid Prime 4. It’ll be 6 years since it was announced. Crazy how much time has passed. They got Metroid Prime Remaster out of the way and in a week or 2 we can see Metroid Prime 4.

Even if it ends up being a 2024 title, I do think it feels like it's finally time to actually see it. Hoping it releases sometime between this October and the end of March next year.

Well after the (for them) disaster of the logo only announcement and the public apology video for the development restart, one thing is certain.

We're only going to see MP4 when it's in a playable from start to end form and (imo) within 6 to 8 months of launch.

By March that puts us 9 months away. If this was E3 Nintendo would’ve 100% showed Metroid Prime 4 here because it caters to the western audience.

Without E3 I’m still hoping that’s the plan. Revealed now and get another trailer at Game Awards (if it’s coming by March). If it’s coming this holiday then it has to be shown now.

We didn't have anything MGS releated on Xbox Showcase. Makes me think further details on the collection will be at the Direct. Directs are always filled with remaster news compared to Xbox ones, so we will finally get a confirmation.

Lads just fyi im just messing around, this was just a joke from the last thread. I do not know anything about Nintendo Direct or Nintendo games yet to be announced. Hope we get a new direct soon tho I need some Prime energy!

This is news right?
I feel like this retailer puts up listings in anticipation of something happening, not that it actually will materialize into anything. Kind of like how the site InstantGaming has listings for Half-Life 3 and GTA VI.

Alright everyone, with some serious talk of a Direct coming this week or next, I think it's time to move onto our second discussion topic. This one unfortunately also has the potential to take up a lot of time for responders, but I believe it's the natural point of discussion for the thread at this point: guessing the contents of the next presentation. Whether you think it'll be a general, a mini, a Partner Showcase, Pikmin 4, or even Pokémon Presents, I encourage you to predict it in as much or as little detail as you'd like. As a corollary, if you think the next presentation will be boring to predict and would rather skip to something more exciting you see coming later in the summer, feel free to do so! There are no rules here, only imagination.

This one's tricky. It's been a while since there were this few locks for first party stuff. I think the only locks are:
-MK8DX BCP wave 5
-Splatoon 3 side order dlc
-Pikmin 4 new trailer
Then for less likely but still plausible stuff:
-TotK dlc
-Metroid Prime 4 (mostly going by the prime remastered shadowdrop)

Everything else would be a complete surprise for me, so I'm looking forward to going in with very few expectations for once.

Metroid Prime 4
Metroid Maker
Metroid: Samus Returns Remastered
Punch-Out!!: Comeback Kid
Ice Climber 2
Wario Land: Root of Greed
Star Fox Remake
F-Zero Remaster
New Kid Icarus

(None of these are serious predictions except Metroid Prime 4, but I can dream)

I'm glad that we live in a timeline where Metroid Prime 4 can be considered a serious prediction

I believe we'll get a General, with the following games;
  • 2D Mario (opener)
  • Metroid Prime 4 (closer)
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Booster Course Pass Wave 5 (GCN DK Mountain is a returning track, along with Diddy Kong and Funky Kong as new racers)
  • Too early for Tears of the Kingdom DLC, however the two new amiibo of Zelda and Ganondorf are announced. They won't be given a date other than "Fall 2023", which will end up being the same date as the DLC which will be revealed in September.
  • Pikmin 4 overview trailer
  • Splatoon 3 DLC
  • Nintendogs + Cats + Fish or Tomodachi Life 3

Yeah, you said it! It's the most realistic thing we can expect from such a list of lofty expectations. Kinda surreal.

I really do want new Wario Land and Punch-Out!! games especially, though. It's a shame they've been dormant since the Wii.

This is news right?

Description sounds speculative to me. Spanish speakers can hopefully confirm, but the description looks like it says "remasters are expected" and that the remastering won't be as significant as Prime 1.

So essentially these would just be product pages made based on the old speculative rumour that Prime 2 and 3 would follow with less substantive work done. It was never clearly established if that was Nintendo's plan, and I'd be surprised if Prime 2 and 3 follow anytime soon when remasters like this provide easy schedule filler in the years to come.

And, it gives them time to maybe (hopefully) do the effort they gave Metroid Prime 1

I think we’re looking at a DLC and remake/remaster heavy direct.

DLC:
-Mario Kart
-Splatoon 3
-TOTK

Remasters/Remakes:
-Baten Kaitos
-Paper Mario
-FZero
-Kid Icarus

I think we will see only one entirely new Nintendo game announcement and it will be Donkey Kong which is slotted to be their Holiday game.

Here are my predictions:
  • Totk DLC + Zelda and Ganondorf Amiibos. First wave in September. The second one with a TBD (will come out near TGA imho)
  • P3Reload and P5Tactica confirmed for switch but not Metaphor
  • Metroid Prime 4 reveal trailer with date. This will be the opener or the one more thing. (I think the opener, but idk why)
  • SMT4 and SMT4A remasters for switch
  • Bravely Third (I'll never give up.)
  • Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War. Releasing by the end of 2023 (or I don't understand why they rushed with the dlc of Engage lol)
  • new Mario 2D as the opener/one more thing.

I also hope for a Zelda 2D (new or remake) to come out, but I think this will be announced after totk dlc is out.

Just for entertaintment (and chaos), I will predict the things that we will NOT see in the next Direct:

  • 2D Mario.
  • Zelda DLC (doesn't exist).
  • Anything Metroid.
  • First party Gamecube port.

I feel we'll have to wait for the juicy stuff.

Wait are you saying I should cancel my Half Life 3 preorder?

OMG I forgot about Kid Icarus!
I would love a new game or a remake of the 3ds one tbh, I had so much fun with it.

I'm sure I'll also appreciate it more now, since when I played it I wasn't as good as I'm now with English and it was almost impossible to read the subtitles in Italian and play at the same time lmao
I should try to play it again now

Amazing list! I'd be so hyped for Fire Emblem remake, Mario 2D, Shin Megami Tensei 4 & SMT4 Apocalypse and Metroid Prime 4. Add in a new Front Mission 2 trailer with the new release date and Xenoblade X Remaster (best Xenoblade!) and I'd be over the flippin' moon!

  • Event will be this week
  • Announcement either tomorrow or Wednesday, event will take place Thursday
  • ~40 minutes
  • No new hardware will be revealed
  • 1~2 GC HD port(s), one complete remaster
  • MP4 and Pikmin 4 gameplay
  • 1 Pokemon Spinoff
  • Silksong
  • Kid Icarus Uprising remaster
  • New MK8D and Splatoon 3 DLCs info
  • P3R and P5T announcements
  • Sonic Superstars and the new Prince of Persia
  • Everybody 1-2 Switch won't be there
  • No F-Zero nor Starfox
  • No new DK game nor 2D Mario

Here's my ~20% serious prediction:

There is no direct this week. There is a 4-5 minute Drake announcement video with some footage of some mysterious new games as well as some third party games that aren't officially acknowledged as announced for the Switch family of systems.

The video is followed by a Nintendo PR announcing a mid July Spaceworld event where the hardware will be demoed and official announcements will happen.

June Direct fan fiction time:

2D Mario opens the Direct:
  • set outside the Mushroom Kingdom
  • new art style showing a lot more visual detail
  • Mario has new basic traversal abilities in addition to a new animal themed powerup being debuted
  • out November 2023

A new Mario themed Switch OLED is set to release near the game

Chris "Mario Mario" Pratt crashes the Direct to announce that Mario Movie #2 is happening

MK8D Wave 5 is teased with 2 tracks, GCN Daisy Cruiser and Tour LA Laps. Out in July

Pikmin 4's final trailer is shown, showing the night time gameplay and a final new Pikmin type. An amiibo is announced of Oatchi

A remaster of F-Zero GX is announced with online multiplayer and other QoL features. Out today for $40

A new Rhythm Heaven is revealed, out this September.

An Animal Crossing party game from ND Cube is announced for October, everyone collectively hopes it isn't as terrible as Amiibo Festival

Splatoon 3 Side Order gets a tease with a Pearl and Marina music video. Targeting this holiday with more details to come later.

Metroid Prime 4 is the final announcement. Gets a teaser trailer showing the story premise and some rapid fire shots of gameplay. Mother Brain's return is teased. Announced for spring 2024

1st Party:

  • Pikmin 4 trailer
  • MK8D DLC Wave 5
  • TotK DLC
  • Metroid Prime 4 reveal
  • F-Zero GX HD
  • 2d Mario
  • Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War remake (I believe in a 2023 release dammit!)
  • Splatoon 3 DLC

3rd Party:

  • Persona 3 Reloaded
  • Persona 5 Tactica
  • Dragon Quest III remake
  • uhhhh idk what else, I'm terrible at guessing 3rd party stuff lol, too unpredictable imo

I'm still reeling from the SGF and Xbox announcements, we got Ubisoft and Capcom today, RGG later this week, and people are predicting a direct this week too? Stop, my heart can only take so much.

  • 2D DK (November)
  • New Mario Party (October)
  • Follow ups on the stuff we need more info about
  • Master trials teased for TotK, coming in the holiday alongside new amiibos
  • Spoon Side Order (September)
  • F-Zero GX remaster (September)
  • Prime 4 gameplay (2024)

Oh definitely speculative. It roughly translate to: "Nintendo Switch players will able to comple Samus adventure with Prime 2 and 3 with some upgrades, but not in a deep way as Metroid Prime Remastered.
