I agree with what you are saying and it makes logical sense. I think it is fair to say that in the past Nintendo has struggled to have clean transitions to new hardware especially when the prior generation is successful. Hopefully this time around they can thread the needle and keep current Switch healthy while also providing adequate resources to next gen.
Absolutely. I'd say as much as I think that is the desired strategy, there's no guarantee they get it right. From my perspective, 2023 so far doesn't scream "imminent software problems".

maybe apple is collapsing the pipeline so they can buy nintendo for a small price
I mean if you wanted exclusive phone games from talented developers you could do far worse then approaching independent developers who've worked closely with Nintendo. But do Apple actively approach developers for Apple Arcade?

I would actually say that this year is on pace to be arguably the best year of Switch yet. But I will say that it is a bit weird that Nintendo seems hesitant to detail into the future. In my opinion it would have been smart for them to announce a couple fall games in September.

I just remembered that in 2017, WSJ reported that Nintendo was making Zelda game for mobile. It was scrapped just like bunch of their other mobile efforts at this point.

grezzo's new game being a small apple arcade game is good news. means they've been working on something bigger, most likely for nintendo.

So I wonder then if the next new game announcement we get from Nintendo comes after Pikmin 4’s launch? If it’s a remaster (Let’s Say, FZero GX HD) they could drop that in early August for a September release before the general Direct

I honestly think that Apple Arcade is so fifferent from all Platfroms that really have no conseguente on releatiobship or workflow with companies

The only thing that reinforces that Grezzo will probably ever be put on Zelda by Nintendo

There’s Grezzo’s New IP; Apple Arcade exclusive.

I hope this doesn't mean they don't have a concurrent project with Nintendo going

Nintendo failing to secure Jet Dragon is what led to 2023's second half being barren.

If we go further down to the rabbit hole, we can actually realise that the Apple Representative who first convinced Grezzo to pitch an Apple Arcade game was one Uregihs Otomayim. Uregihs left his role at Apple shortly after contracting Grezzo to make Jet Dragon. Consequently, when Nintendo realised Grezzo were unable to work on Ever Oasis 2 as the big 2023 title, they were forced to drag out Tears of the Kingdom's development and to look for projects on which to accelerate development.

Enter: Shigeru Miyamoto, who successfully acquired the bulk of EPD's resources so that he could finish Pikmin 4 for a second half 2023 release. It's releasing in July because Miyamoto recognises that being technically correct is the best form of correct, and July is second half 2023, which is what he was asked to do.

We're through the looking glass here people

They probably worked at something else since Awekening they actually made a jop posting about a game that if I rember well was a Fantasy or something?

So how are my Junebros feeling now

Though I do agree that we'll get some Pikmin Direct/gameplay demonstration because that was basically a nothing trailer lol

I trust the process, Metroid Prime 4 will be in the next Direct!
Some people are changing their votes.

Conviction is everything. I still believe.
I am even more confident in June Direct after this Pikmin commercial. Not that I ever doubted it anyway.
This is what I love to see. You three (and more) have allowed the process to flow through you to summon this June Direct we all deserve.

Trust in Lukas. Prophet. Pattern. Patience. Pikmin 4. Prime 4. Process. Conviction is everything. Save the panic for the $70 third game in the 1-2-Switch franchise.

The Grezzo announcement is such a massive dub for EPDheads like Raccoon who think that Nintendo should invest all their money in internal expansion. Partnercels in shambles.

Since it needs repeating in multiple threads, Grezzo is not a one game only at a time studio

You can see they released multiple titles some years. Heck, they were assisting with other Nintendo titles while making the 3DS Zeldas. Not saying that Grezzo is certainly working with Nintendo on a new project but they most certainly have multiple projects in the pipeline.

At this point @LukasManak22's conviction has reached such levels of strength that, if he were a World of Darkness character, he would have achieved True Faith and would be able to scare off vampires by shouting "THE JUNE DIRECT IS REAL" at them. Respect.

And yet...111 people still believing in September. We are tie in once again. No matter how poll with end, I will proudly get my team to victory, no matter the consequences.

Thank god, if Jet Dragon was released on the Switch or any other consoles instead of being on Apple Arcade, it would mean the death of Grezzo.
I would really hope that Grezzo will collaborate with Nintendo again for their next game for the Switch 2.

The big question re Pikmin trailer is, hypothetically if there was a Direct coming that had more of a gameplay blowout, would you rather release that trailer before or after? Because I’d be inclined to think a brief story/intro trailer before would make sense.

anyone think one of us here is a Nintendo employee thinking either "ooh boy they're going to explode before we announce this Direct" or "ooh boy they're all going to explode, we have no Direct coming soon"

I guarantee you there are ninjas lurking on this forum whether for fun or monitoring.

I will never be able to thank you enough, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for making us to be proud of you. When we fight together, we're unstoppable.
At the end of the day, the most devout acolytes of the process will always emerge victorious, and you are easily the most pious of us all. I'll gladly march directly behind you as if I was your shadow itself.

See you in the June Direct thread.

what if the entire game is just creating a character and then also crashing on earth. Credits roll, repeat.
"... there's this President of Hocotate Freight, and he asks his subordinate Olimar... How many Pikmin in eternity?"

(References that a lot of people won't get are FUN!)

Everyone is saying that the Pikmin 4 trailer was nothing, but what if the entire game is just creating a character and then also crashing on earth. Credits roll, repeat.
Stuck in a time loop, Outer Wilds style, and you gotta figure out how to break our captains free from it and this weird planet's gravity

And his subordinate Olimar says.. there's this mountain of pure cardboard. It takes 20 Pikmin to push it and an hour to go around it!

Regardless of whether there's a June Direct or not, a one minute long Pikmin 4 trailer for a character creator means nothing.

Every hundred years, a little John Carpenter comes and says "Frankly, this thing sucks." to a little piece of the cardboard mountain.
