I don’t think that’s a rule where they don’t do new announcements at the Showcase.

Last year their showcase around the same time said “updates on previously announced titles”. This year is “new information about upcoming releases and future titles”. It sounds like there is a chance they do have some reveals
 
Previous page got me excited. We're seeing that Metroid Prime 4 re-reveal in the next Direct!

We’ll never get E3 back as it once was but I like that we’ve got a lot of showcases close to each other this year. SGF, Xbox, and Capcom within a few days is great! A direct next week would make it even better…
 
Last night I had a dream that Square Enix had a presentation in which they announced an HD-2D remake of Super Mario RPG, but Nintendo released a standalone trailer for Splatoon 3 Side Order, squashing any hopes of a first-party Direct. What do you think that means?

It means I need to stop obsessing over potential video game announcements and do something constructive with my life

Random Nintendo store Metroid email got me thinking about one of my favorite times a long time MIA game showed signs of life. There were a few other signs alongside it, but my favorite was when it was announced relatively out of nowhere Final Fantasy Versus XIII (the game that became XV) would get themed deodorant/perfume so you could smell like Noctis. A few months later the game was re-revealed at E3.

I trust the process, Metroid Prime 4 will be in the next Direct!
 
The fact Nintendo finally dropped the Prime remaster out of nowhere was already a sign that Prime 4's reintroduction was sooner then later. For me this survey thing is just more smoke.
 
Pikmin!! It’s a very short trailer about customizing your captain. No bearing on the Direct airing within the next two weeks.

 

I wanna say this means something for the chances of a direct this month, but that was honestly such a “nothing” trailer tha I really don’t know

Pikmin 4 already got its initial reveal last September, and a full trailer last February. I'm not sure it was ever going to have a big presence in a June direct.

Don’t think this impacts the Direct potential either way. I fully expect a multiplayer mode reveal for Pikmin 4 in the Direct coming in the next two weeks.

Is cool to make your own explorer, but I really hope they have a long gameplay trailer this june, you need really to have one for something like pikmin

Trailer didn't show much beyond customization, if it showed night mode, Direct hopes would have been gone.

Still the game looks so dope, can't wait to play it!
 
The doomposting starts again lol, just like after Everybody 1-2 Switch! reveal, this means nohting for June Direct. It's just a commercial. The teaser site now even has more screenshots that were not even in this "trailer".

It does have "Headline" character though, I think this is not just a commercial, reminds me more of the LM2 trailer at E3 2019 with the narration etc. But lets see, I'm still hoping for a June Direct. This trailer makes it less likely for me though tbh.
 
If this was a longer trailer for 4, a game reveal, or a BCP wave 5 announcement, then yeah, easy Direct deconfirm, but this was genuinely nothing.

If we start seeing larger announcements and a Pikmin 4 Direct somewhat soon, then I think it’s time to stop hoping, but let’s just wait and see for now

That more or less felt like "we're 6 weeks out, let's start the marketing for this game".

Still kinda expecting a Twitter Direct though. But I'm cynical.

On one hand: why would they show anything now and not save literally everything they could for the potential June Direct?

On the other hand: that trailer was so barebones and nothing that it doesn’t really stand on its own at all, and could use a Direct segment to go alongside it to explain what’s going on
 
Nintendo forced to begin Pikmin 4 marketing by the overwhelming stink coming from the direction of June 30th.
