Zelda Four Swords Adventures With Online Multiplayer

I love this idea I dreamed of playing this with friends back in the day, but at that stage of my burgeoning adult life I had few friends who gamed, and fewer friends who owned a GBA.

The only thing on my mind at the moment is Advance Wars, especially now retailers have begun to re-list it. Just how will Nintendo address the delay?

Unrealistic dream scenario is it features in the direct with some neat new things like classic pixel mode that WayForward have had time to add.

More likely: it isn't in the direct, it is just shadow dropped as a tweet and the delay is conveniently not mentioned. I'm just not sure how they get around shipping to stores without mentioning a specific release date.

My wishlist:
  • Classic Harvest Moon games on NSO
  • Game Boy family games on NSO, including Super Game Boy emulation
  • Boom Street/Fortune Street revival (it never got off the ground in the west, for shame)
  • Scrabble (yes, I'm serious, Hasbro)
  • New 2D Zelda and/or enhanced ports of Minish Cap and Oracle games (no claymation style for Oracle though please)
  • Final Fantasy Tactics ports/remasters or new title
  • Another Hiroyuki Ito game (Dungeon Encounters is ace)
  • Monkey Island 1&2 and Broken Sword 1&2 with mouse and touchscreen support--keep those point and clickers coming!!!
  • Professor Layton
  • Advance Wars
  • Valkyria Chronicles 2&3 ports
  • Something unexpected and intriguing.... OooOoo
The thing with directs and such is that we are always going to pine for sequels and ports because it's what we know... I do hope we see some new new stuff too. New IPs. But I'm a sucker for nostalgia, hence my list.

The Breath of the Wild final "story" trailer is maybe my favorite trailer of all time. Hopefully, we get an amazing Tears of the Kingdom trailer.

Only if the game can match it.
I love BotW, but its a different game that was promoted with that trailer.
The story takes a backseat 90% of the time, the trailer showed probably the most emotional cutscenes in the game off, and if you have seen the trailer, in my book the games has little to add from a drama perspective.

BotW is a somber, quieter game, the trailer was bombastic.

(oh, and it IS one of the best trailers. thats the annoying part about it)

All this Nintendo might have weak 2nd half of the year is the most annoying thing I have seen in a while.
"Weak 2nd half" "Pikmin isnt a big game"

There's probably tons of fun games coming out, sure they may not sell 15+ million but saying no more big games after TOTK? Weird statement tbh

I almost said that the trailer was better than the game's story in that post but didn't want to start anything lol

Let’s make our own “light” schedules post Zelda that actually rock. The definition used remember was no ten million+ sellers and 2D platformers are apparently fine.

Here’s what I want:

Pikmin 4
Xenoblade 3 Expansion
2D Mario
3D Donkey Kong
Mother 3
Fortune Street
Zelda Four Swords Adventures With Online Multiplayer + Lite Versions To Let All Your Friends Mooch Off You
Sin And Punishment 3 With Wii Remote accessory support
Metroid Prime 4 Demo Prologue Thing With Prime Remastered

If there's a high quality EPD 3D Donkey Kong game... it is going to sell 10 million and easily so. I would bet money on that tbh :>

... i would also argue that. the game had so much...game between story beats, and the memories where so much in the past, that the game never came even close to the dramatic of the trailer.

Again, one of my GoaTs, and one of the best trailers of all times. But they missmatch, the trailer does not represent the game.

These are some quality point and click games either out now or coming soon on Switch.

I can confirm that Tears of the Kingdom will be releasing with bah bah music in May and the real soundtrack will not be finished until FY23-24.

Squeenix announced and released like 20 AA games last year so one of the reasons for my excitement of the direct is to see what they have up their sleeve

UPDATE: February 5th. GIVEAWAY ENDED

I promised one more giveaway so here we go.

Predict the exact length of the next Nintendo Direct. $5 US eShop giftcard giveaway.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Let's try to guess the exact length of the next Nintendo Direct presentation. We are talking about US version of Nintendo Direct here since the japanese one will actually have the different length as always. What I mean is the Nintendo Direct upload video that will be there after the presentation. So the whole thing from the intro to the final Nintendo logo.

I am being generous here and listing you some of the recent Directs and their durations:

September 2019 - announced as roughly 40 min. - Ended up being 38:45.
February 2021 - announced as roughly 50 min. - Ended up being 50:46.
E3 2021 - announced as a roughly 40 min. - Ended up being 38:51.
September 2021 - announced as a roughly 40 min. - Ended up being 40:35.
February 2022 - announced as a roughly 40 min. - Ended up being 40:48.
September 2022 - announced as a roughly 40 min. - Ended up being 45:22.

What are the rules?

You have to quote this post (so I can find your guess easily) and type the exact length you think the Direct will have. For example: 42:22. Your first number being minutes and the second one being seconds. Or just type it as a 42 minutes and 22 seconds. Just type it somehow that I can understand it. If you type in something like "42 minutes" and you are not typing seconds that means your response is 42:00.

If you don't quote this message you are not participating. I will not search many pages just to find your guess. Shoutout to bellydrum for doing the sweet every quote message button.

The person who will guess the exact length or the nearest one will get the giftcard. If more people guess the exact length (it could happen lol) than one of these will be selected by random selection.

You can send your guess until Sunday, February 5th, 12pm UTC. You can edit your guess until this end date.

Good luck.

Hi-Fi Rush and Pikmin 4 will definitely be nominated, but won't win anything because "nOt AaA"
Maybe for a few smaller categories, but for the big award I doubt it. XC3 only got it last year because of how weak the top end competition was.

I could maybe see Pikmin sneaking in if it reviews incredibly well, but Hi-Fi Rush has pretty much no chance at a GOTY nomination.

So if that “imminent” is to be believed, is this just going to be a Nintendo Direct mini that they shadowdrop at the point of announcement (today)?
They’ve never announced a Direct the day off to my knowledge and they’ve never done a Friday either. So if they announced today for a livestream it would have to be tonight

Yeah. We have TotK, Spider-Man, RE4, and FF16 being likely candidates already and none of them are even out. And that’s just off the top of my head. Throw in Armored Core, if it’s better than past games, and there’s only one spot left. I’d be thrilled for Pikmin if it ends up being that 6th wild card that often sneaks in but idk if it’s the kind of game people would vote for despite the quality of the series. But who knows.

If Monty Mole saw his shadow, that means a Nintendo Direct next week. If he did not, it means no news for six weeks.

The person who will guess the exact length or the nearest one will get the giftcard. If more people guess the exact length (it could happen lol) than one of these will be selected by random selection.

You can send your guess until Sunday, February 5th, 12pm UTC. You can edit your guess until this end date.

Good luck
I'm from Europe but my guess is 42:22

edit: ah shit, you already used that as the example.
Well not like I'm gonna win anyway.

I promised one more giveaway so here we go.

Hi-Fi Rush and Pikmin 4 will definitely be nominated, but won't win anything because "nOt AaA"
Hi-Fi Rush might be nominated for GOTY as a recognition of the new model of distribution that Gamepass represents, because it has worked so well with this game.
Pikmin has no chance to be a GOTY contender, although it can win some other categories.

"nOt AaA" ??

I wonder if it will be a ‘primarily focusing on Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’ direct. There might not be much else to announce. Advance Wars and maybe a couple of other smaller titles perhaps. Got a feeling they might not show Pikmin until later this year but hopefully wrong on that.
