@zumaddy

Apparently, the winners of CYL7 might have leaked.

Guy side: Robin, Soren
Gal side: Gullveig, Corrin
Ah yes I saw... the happiness of seeing Robin vs. the depression of Felix likely being third again ๐Ÿ˜ญ

What did you think? Do you like them?

Timmie's is trash, that much is true, but it's our trash.
saying that Tim Hortons is trash is exactly as Canadian as saying that Tim Hortons is great

it IS trash but itโ€™s EFFECTIVE trash

and I will never get over how funny it is that it holds such a huge block of the bizarre Canadian identity jockeying no matter which megacorp in which country buys it out (while doubling down on the canada branding)

Most of my personal concept of "Canadian identity" revolves less around Tim Hortons and more around actually having healthcare

Caterpie evolved into Metapod! Our Fluffy has reached the chrysalis stage.
Knowing the creator of Pokemon was a bug catcher, I bet this is where the idea for evolutions came from.
The kindergarten kids were so fascinated.

We did this in elementary, too. I think we even had like a 'daily caterpillar helper' or something whose job was to take care of it. I don't remember what exactly you DO for that, other than toss in some lettuce or something? But it was super cool when the butterfly eventually emerged!

If YouTube could stop recommending me fucking Matt Walsh videos when I look up the Lord of the Rings soundtrack that would be much appreciated.

Itโ€™s probably almost time to start my Master Mode playthrough of BotW
I wish you luck! I never really got into master mode, trying it is what made me realize that while I love BOTW, it's not really because of the combat.

Can't get a new Titanfall, a new Bulletstorm, a new Wolfenstein, or single-player Halo.

Save us id.

EA be like: "Oh yeah remember that sequel to one of our most critically acclaimed games in the past decade? Remember how we created a super successful spin-off from that? With really good gameplay and stuff? Yeah we don't care just cancel it"

I wonder if Titanfall 2 would have done better as an Xbox exclusive with Microsoft money behind it like the first game versus EA just sending it out to die against Battlefield.

Great ST @SammyJ9! My heater broke so it's nice to have at least one cozy place.

When it comes to gaming this month is packed for me. A new entry in my favorite rhythm series (Theatrhythm Final Bar Line), a remaster of an old favorite (Tales of Symphonia), a sequel to the game that brought new attention to Team Asano (Octopath Traveler II), and a sequel to a DRPG that caught me by surprise (Labyrinth of Galleria). If this was all that was coming to Switch this year I would be satisfied, but there is still plenty more on the horizon.

Folks - we're likely one or two weeks away from a Direct, 100 days away from a new Zelda title, a few months until we learn about the Switch's swan song trajectory, and a handful of short marketing cycles away from the Switch 2 and what I hope will be announcements about Mario and Metroid games.

It's a good time to be a Nintendo fan.

Alright so

The Future Hardware thread was talking special editions and it gave me a slight idea and I just ran with it but I'm not sure the final product is quite up to standard... but like I put so much time into it that now I gotta share it so it's not time wasted soooooo even though I feel like I coulda/shoulda done a lot better here it is anyway:

yes, it was my intent to show love to both Light and Dark Theme users. ๐Ÿ˜…

I think the joycons kinda sucked all the creativity outta my brain because by the time I started fiddling with the dock I just didn't know what to do.

Love it! Dock should be bisexual lighting mode

After adding Jedi Fallen Order to my PS+ collection, decided to take a look at my entire library and damn, I have a lot of lot games I'm legit interested in but haven't played

-Infamous Second Son
-Shadow of the Colossus
-Persona 5 Strikers
-Hollow Knight
-Middle Earth: Shadows of War
-and Game of the Forever....Knack

Not sure if this thread is the right place but I was thinking there is a lot of DLC this year.

We know:
Mario Kart 8D
Fire Emblem Engage
Xenoblade 3
Monster Hunter Rise (not exclusively Nintendo but still)
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

All but confirmed:
Pokemon Violet/Scarlet

My hopes:
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes

Anything I forgot? I wouldn't be surprised if I did.
I kinda doubt Three Hopes will get any but this game needs it. I just feel like they would have announced it by now.

Edit: oh I forgot Splatoon 3. Is that confirmed or all but confirmed category?

So does anyone know what Rune Factory someone should start out with on Switch? I was really interested in playing 5, it was one of those scenarios for me where I wanted 4 on 3ds for the longest time but didn't pull the trigger because it usually wasn't available or wasn't on sale. But when 5 came out I saw it was a bit divisive with both fans and critics, and mostly just that it was kind of buggy. No idea if it's better now.

I feel like Rune Factory is one of those series where two entries, 3 and 4, are about as equally beloved, even if 4 is more popular. But also, I have no idea if they fixed 5, and in general I think I kind of like the presentation of that one. So I don't know which to pick : ( Does anyone have any suggestions for a newcomer?

Rune Factory 5 is considerably shorter and easier then 4 i enjoyed both of them because i'm a huge fan of the series. But RF4 is probably a smoother and longer experience.

Is there anyone here who remembers (fondly ofc) playing the mlb power pros series back on wii/ps2?

Can D brand skins make this a reality?

Hereโ€™s the breakdown:
  • Rune Factory 4 is the best Rune Factory game. Snappy gamefeel, lots of dialogue, a cornucopia of QoL features, itโ€™s basically the most complete realization of Rune Factoryโ€™s gameplay concepts.
  • Rune Factory 3 falls behind in features compared to 4, but it still is a modern Rune Factory so itโ€™s not that hard to go back to it. It has my favorite cast in the series and that I would say is the main reason to play itโ€” everyone, especially the marriage candidates, have a screw or two loose.
  • Rune Factory 5 has better presentation but the technical problems damage the snappiness the series is known for. I also felt like the writing in this game was quite a bit weaker than previous entries. It still is very much a Rune Factory game and is enjoyable for that, but in a lot of ways itโ€™s a regression from RF3 and 4.
tl;dr If youโ€™re a newcomer to the series and looking to convince yourself itโ€™s worth playing, definitely get RF4.

Oof, stay toasty! Yeah itโ€™s a bit more of a niche month but if youโ€™re in the niche that wants all those RPGs and TFBL then itโ€™s a pretty insane month, especially for February of all months

Well that's His Dark Materials finished.

aaaaaaaaand now my soul is crying.

Ok, thank you guys. I think I'll try RF4!

I'm kinda indifferent to all of them. Okay Gullveig is kinda wild, given we all know why she won. Though i think there's also a lot of "troll votes" for her just for the lulz and drama her win could bring.

My votes were mostly for Nephenee, she's one of my top three favs of the whole series. And a few for best henchman Hubert.

Though i fear this was kinda her last chance, next years CYL will be dominated by Engage units.

Nice, it finally learned Harden.

I'm sickkk on top of my usual long-standing illness soooo I feel like absolute crap Fami fam

The good news is that my Nintendo Switch has games

My copies of Zelda: The Minish Cap and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance arrived in the mail yesterday. Slowly, but surely, I'm building back my GB/A library that my idiot 14-year-old self sold off to buy DS games.

Now I still need to kick my 20-year-old self in the ass for selling the DS games to buy 360 and 3DS games smh my head.

The Theatrhythm demo was fine, but I'm going to skip it. I'm pretty trash at rhythm games, honestly, and Kirby is coming soon so...

I saw that headline about how the latter half of 2023 is going to be a slow year for Nintendo and I don't mind. The backlog I have is CRAZY anyways. Maybe they'll announce a couple of things (Tomodachi Life) in the direct that'll change that.

Big same. I sold 90% of my GameCube collection about 10 years ago. Like, I guess it was understandable at the time, but still.

I've had to sell a lot of my physical games over the years because of repeated moves. It was necessary but a shame; especially now that stuff like the Analogue Pocket exists.

I found my old as fuck copy of LOZ: Oracle of Ages last month when I was at my parents' for Christmas and I almost cried. It's the only game I still have from when I was a kid.

I had Ages with the manual and a boxed copy of Seasons with its manual. I got a great price for them a few years ago, but still... at least I rescued the VC ROMs from my 3DS, so I can use them if I ever do get a Pocket.

Bet a lot of you would get teary eyes when i would show you around my storage. Still have all my NES, GB/GBC, SNES, GBA, N64, Cube and so on games.
