Well yeah, hopefully it's one of those games that works out well. It's just not in that initial list so I wonder if it might not appear in the first couple of updates.

These are high up on the franchises I really want to see on Switch. F Zero in first purely because it's been so long since a new entry. If we're all deluded enough to want them, we can manifest that reality through sheer willpower.

Maybe.
I’m more curious to see what we get outside the list in the first couple waves considering it has zero Japanese third parties

Pikmin is mainstream enough already

It is funny that some of the smallest Nintendo IP I think carry incredible potential in other mediums like movies and theme parks. Like the idea of a Pikmin film from the perspective of being tiny on a dangerous planet, or a Star Fox dark ride at Universal seem like really enjoyable things if they were to happen.
sorry you can’t just make rides anymore , it has to be a whole land , which means we need to build up the franchise , for which there is only one way . A battlestar galactica-esque tv series and the star fox mass effect game .

Well I guess we are gonna be waiting a while then for the IP to get a land. 🤣

No joke, my most beloved consoles are the Dreamcast and the WiiU. I feel you.

It doesn't sit right with me that I'm nowhere near as cleverly verbose as you.
you just gotta big word the hamfist and you gotcherself a garrulous spaghetti

sprinkle in the adjectives tiltways and be an oblique piece o’ sus for maximum akimbo

I‘m with you. Mario Kart and 3D Mario have been absent for SOOO long
Bowsers Fury was a fantastic little present though
I think we'd be in due time for both if they didn't have turned into something way more ambitious than ever before in scope.
Both will have the longest dev time ever for their respective franchises, with Mario Kart taking more than double the time MK8 took. I expect nothing less than GOAT.
I think Bowser's Fury and Odyssey 1 were just setting the tone of what Odyssey 2 is going to be. It's taking longer than any other Mario title and it would've been released by new if it was an interactive sequel ala Galaxy 2. I'm sooooo excited of how it'll look like and how big it'll be.

It's not the first time I've seen someone suggest to make Star Fox just Furry Mass Effect

I never played Mass Effect, but sure do like my space animals. 🐾

look I’m gonna be real, I hope that someday I have an official way to play Kirby’s Air Ride again

I don’t know why I like that game so much when the controls are not particularly involved, but… I wannit

I'm sure everyone has already seen this:
nintendocinematicuniverse.jpg

But if we threw DK into the mix I'd pretty much be down with all of it. A Star Fox or MegaMan movie would rock.
I remember when there a was a metroid movie in the works but it was scrapped for some reason.

I could see a smash bros movie happening tho the cg cutscenes they make for those games are amazing I could see them making a feature length one

It's because the soundtrack slaps.

You joke. But my secret wish is Monolith Soft would create a Star Fox adventure/rpg game like Mass Effect.

In this game, Fox could travel the universe by arwing and on-foot.
Tbh an action adventurer like Adventures/Assault sounds way more attractive to Star Fox than rail shooter. They already milked the rail shooting stuff the most they could, and neither did the games sell better nor the fans were satisfied.
Taking the franchise to the next level in scope with a talented studio is what needs to be done. Monolith Soft certainly will have a good vision of what to do. I think that if done right it'll only turn out to be great and sell great too.

It was scrapped because, according to the screenwriter, (I think?) they had been asking Nintendo all sorts of questions about Samus' character and history and Nintendo just didn't have the answers. When the filmmakers then said "okay well we can come up with that stuff ourselves" Nintendo did not like that and decided to can it.

I forget exactly where that interview was but think it was a DYKG segment or something.

Honestly the more obvious path to me is for franchises like Fire Emblem and Xenoblade to get licensed out for Anime adaptations, especially the former.

Star Fox Assault had some brilliant ideas for a multiplayer Star Fox game. I wish another developer would take those ideas and improve on them.

Speaking about 2023-2024 games I wonder if retro is still working on that new IP that was rumored or they completely scrapped it. Even if they have to be working on something after prime 4 right.

Damn, I wanted to see what story additions AOC DLC added but like… literally no one is talking about it 😭😭

It's weird that that game is the best selling Warriors game ever yet doesn't really have any sort of community around it online. I guess the poor technical performance and somewhat dumb story left people losing interest.

I actually like the moment-to-moment gameplay of AoC a lot better than the first HW, even if the latter had much more overall content to it.

I prefer it to HW1 too! I think even though the story goes in different directions, it simply being grounded in BotW’s world instead of a fanservice crossover thing makes me prefer it to HW1 from that angle too.

I think the biggest thing is that the DLC just isn’t that exciting. That, or it just looks that way since they’ve promoted it with so little fanfare.

Yeah, precisely this. I enjoyed AoC a lot, but I don't feel like they've done enough to sell me on the season pass.

Yeah, I wonder if Nintendo had higher sales expectations from it being connected to BotW, even though it still ended up being the best-selling Warriors ever. I feel like you can kind of tell when Nintendo is more ho-hum about marketing new content for games compared to others. You can see it with their Mario Maker 2 post launch support, which seems like they just felt obligated to add content for a bit before killing off support relatively quickly. I'm pretty sure there was some insider talk about Nintendo being disappointed with that game's performance compared to internal expectations.

AoC seems to be the same way. Like they have to release the DLC since they announced it, but it's more of just like "alright, here it is, whatever" from them.

Maybe I'm just reading too much into it though lol.

I'm shocked there's not a Fire Emblem anime yet. It just makes too much sense, just like Persona 5.

ubisoft and Nintendo have worked a lot together and continue today, since Starlink and the StarFox content I have a feeling they could be the developer of the next StarFox game.

Regarding Wave Race, I would never have thought that Nintendo would use this game as a technical demo but now I have a slight hope for the next EPD9 game..

Question for Pikmin Bloom players

My girlfriend constantly has new expeditions showing up in her Expeditions tab. I don’t get any new expeditions at all. We aren’t walking or anything (it’s raining)

How is she getting new ones and I’m not?

Anyone but Monolith.

I REALLY don't want to fly between six star systems to collect seven different star fragments 30 pieces of each that are randomly dropped by spawning opponent squadrons.

Other than that yes. Proper Star Fox Space Opera. Please.

you just aren't one with the pikmin, sorry

I have 49 pikmin so I basically am a mega pikmin pro gamer

Pikmin has potential to be a brilliant concept for a feature film.

A cross between "A Bug's Life" and the environmental themes of "Wall-E".
The problem is that, when it comes to Hollywood adaptations of games, we pretty much never get stuff that actually dwelves into the atmosphere of said games. Even Sonic and Detective Pikachu were using awfully safe formulas, even if the execution was somewhat decent for the audience (I didn't like them, but my opinion isn't relevant to this argument currently.)

I'd love a Pikmin movie that would actually use the game's strenghts in terms of atmosphere, mixing a silent, environmental narrative with the horror-ish/tense elements the games have. But as risk-adverse as Hollywood is, they'd probably just try to make a generic family movie to go for the biggest mass appeal possible.

I'm really hoping things will be different for Mario's movie, but I'm not exactly filled with confidence given the track record of game adaptations in the last decades.

Star Fox Assault was probably my second most played multiplayer GameCube game with my friends after Double Dash. So much fun.

With Cranky Kong appearing in the Super Mario movie, I wonder if it'll eventually lead to a "Donkey Kong Country" spin-off film in the future.

Maybe we'll get the NCU = Nintendo Cinematic Universe.
Mr. Game & Watch saying to Captain Falcon "I'd like to talk to you about the Smash initiative".

That secret game is Super Smash RPG by square Enix.

With Nomura and Sakurai leading the game.
I think with the shuttering of AlphaDream, there is an opportunity for Nintendo to rekindle their development partnership with Square. What better home for the RPG series than the most prolific RPG developer? I can’t see Square saying no to guaranteed Mario money either.
