I can’t wait for RainCode too!! I hope it won’t come out in the same timeframe of totk tho. I hope for a March/first week of April release but I think I’m too optimistic 🥲
 
Other companies using the direct name will only lead to Nintendo stop doing directs. It sounds dumb but I could see them doing that and then not doing a presentation for like a year because they search for a new format and name.
 
They announced an "Xbox Direct" for the end of this month, how do you see this possible lineup of events? PlayStation next week, Xbox the following week and Nintendo in early February.

Wasn't it confirmed that they were considering doing that for the first Xbox? Before negotiations broke down between Sega and Microsoft over online for PSO2 and a few other potential DC ports?

There was a Nintendo trailer for one game or something but at the end they showed the amiibo and the Direct narrator voice just said "amiibo" and that was it. It was hilariously funny, someone find it please.

low-key agree with this

they have a handful of options. Nintendo Spotlight was a good one, but I'm partial to Digital Event as per @Irene above

if they want to be really based they'll call the TGS show Nintendo Digital Space World
 
I dunno why Nintendo would drop the direct branding. It’s iconic at this point, reaching well beyond the typical “hardcore” fanbase. Most fans would still just call their new presentation a direct anyway.

You can't abandon the name when a competitor uses it because it's a sign of weakness. Nintendo would be saying to Microsoft that their branding is up for grabs and they can be bullied out of defining it in their preferred way. They gotta stick with their guns instead of letting Microsoft co-opt the association away from them.

They will not retire the name ever. Nintendo is Direct and Direct is Nintendo. They are hand and hand. Any company that uses it will never ever apply the same hype and weight as the "Nintendo Direct". The fact that Direct name is being used for more than 12 years is also telling that everyone knows it.

This is not a hate but these kind of discussions are getting me de ja vu from 2020 that Directs are done. But again, no hate here on anything.
 
Rating boards are pretty tight lipped nowadays. Could you spare some leaks, my good sir? One Piece Odyssey port? Sonic Adventure Collection? Castlevania PS2 Collection? Dissidia Duodecim remastered?
 
I for one am glad Sylux hunter has returned. Not for the leaks, but just to be vocal about calling out absolute bullshit on Twitter.
 
I know I'll be in the minority here, but I don't like Slyuxhunter. If people want to pretend to be insiders on Twitter, that's their prerogative. There is a fear of misinformation being spread as fact and people being upset when things don't happen, but I'm not gonna blame the insiders as they're not forcing anyone to believe what they say or even listen to what they have to say.

Meanwhile all the Sylux guy does is insult others and then turn around and post the same made up nonsense.

Tbh, I realistically don't care for any leaker/insider despite how credible they are or aren't, but I really don't care for the ones that treat it as a battle of credibility.

Also, when they did announced Prime 4 restarting why they only said:

Shinya Takahashi, Senior Managing Executive Officer, has a development update on #Metroid Prime 4 for #NintendoSwitch.

They should have said:
Shinya Takahashi, Director, Member of the Board, Senior Managing Executive Officer, General Manager, Entertainment Planning & Development Division, has a development update on #Metroid Prime 4 for #NintendoSwitch.
