Well that's pretty much me about to buy Shin Megami Tensei V while still early on Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Doom Eternal and Valkyria Chronicles 😬.

I want some advice here Fami. SMT V is on a sale after long. I've been saving money and buying gift cards so I have ~250 reais on eShop, the game on sale is 166 reais(a full priced Nintendo game is 300, normal price of SMT V is 250). I was longing for this sale to happen but I still can't decide lol. What if all of a sudden Super Mario 3D World or something enters sale? Or maybe I should just put more 50 and buy Xenoblade Chronicles 3 or pre order Fire Emblem? Idk 😭. SMT V is on a really good price, I have the credits and would still have some and golden points, but I still can't decide lol. Just to get this out of me, the game has how many hours of gameplay?(I played 170h of vanilla P5 and it wasn't for a 100%). And is there a "route" system like IV where you can choose good, evil or neutral path?
I played SMTV for ~85 hours, but I didn't do absolutely everything, just most of it. It's not as long as P5, but still quite meaty. There is a route system for paths, but it's significantly less important than in SMT4 and doesn't change things as drastically (from what I remember). How did you feel about SMT4? I liked it more than SMTV, but I still had quite a lot of fun with 5.

I was really liking IV, but only played it through emulation on a smartphone so...
I really liked the battle system and the tone the story was going. Found the maps and where I had to go to get some quests kinda messy tho, got confused and dropped it so I never finished :(
Only MegaTen I got to finish was P5. Played through maybe half of SMT IV and early P3P. Am playing TMS(I mean, was, being back at class made me drop that too). Liked everything, but P5 was my favorite tbh(was loving TMS just as much tho).

The battle system is very similar but has some improvements in 5, it's probably the best it's ever been in the series, so that's a step up. And the maps are FAR more open and explorable, there's nothing like the super-confusing Tokyo map in 4. Story-wise... it's a bit basic, and that's probably the area I prefer 4 in the most. It's just not much of a focus. It's a game that really hinges on how much you like exploring the map, combat, and fusing demons. I liked those a lot, so had a good time with it.

Thank you very much!! ❤️❤️ Think I'll definitely like that a lot too.

That is an extremely pog line up of Genesis games. Beyond Oasis is a game any Zelda fans owes it to themselves to make time for.

it's wild that Nintendo doesn't give you a tracking number in the US anymore btw

someday I will get the new Miyamoto shirt, but only God knows when

There was meant to be a phrase here: thank you for bringing this game to my attention, friend.
Earthworm Jim is a bad game

Also it’s creator stinks

huge L for Nintendo here

Beyond Oasis is dope. Not familiar with Alisia Dragoon tho
Noice. I forget whom, but only today or yesterday one of the many prophets within our community said that this update would come.

In the UK you get a tracking number but you can't change your delivery address and if the address form on their website messes up your address their first suggestion is you cancel and reorder the now out of stock special edition you want.

that sounds... specific

I'm sorry to hear it lol

Quite yes! I just have to hope I can bypass Nintendo and get the courier the correct address when the game is packed, or if not, I have to hope the messed up address is still specific enough for delivery to happen.

Pointing out how dumb it is that I can't change the delivery address for a preorder that's not coming until January was ignored by customer service.

That's Virgin/Shiny 2D platformer design for you. Oh you thought that scenery was actually part of the platform? laughs

I can't remember, was it Earthworm Jim 1 or 2 that had you doing different shit in every level, most of which wasn't actual platforming? Which came had that stupid mini game with bouncing cats(?) off a trampoline?

EWJ1 had a bunch of levels that weren't strictly platforming or centered around gimmicks for sure. I think you're thinking of something in 2 though (which I haven't played).

Well was an unintentional line up of 2 planned meals but hey I just pulled off a 3 day meat fast. Was doing protein pancakes and grilled cheese with tomato soup as my meals for a couple days.

So do we think we know Nintendo's completely lineup for the remainder of the year or do you think Nintendo will pull a Super Mario All-Stars and announced something later this month or October and drop it a few weeks later (ie: Zelda HD Remasters, Metroid Prime Remasters)?

I think there is something else in either November or December. If nothing gets added, that’s fine too. Metroid Prime HD, Advance Wars, and Everybody 1-2 Switch are strong contenders. Could be an eshop thing too.

Advance Wars and Everybody Switch make the most sense to me, since they're both games that they could drop but also might NOT want to have shown in the Direct. I still think it could be nothing, but either of those would have a reason to not be known yet.

I’m personally ok with nothing else getting announced for the rest of the year (seriously I’m good on new games right now) but I’m definitely interested in how this mystery gets resolved

I won't like, I enjoyed the summer of the missing E3 Direct. It kept things lively around the forum. Plus, Nintendo did drop a lot of news during that period with Twitter, the game specific Directs, and the Partner Showcase. There was something to talk about pretty much every week. Gaming news really slows down after the Tokyo Game Show and discussion on forums slows down a bit as well. I'm sure Nintendo will be focusing on the marketing for the holidays as well as upcoming games like Bayonetta 3 and Pokemon. Hopefully Nintendo has some other surprises in store, if only to keep things more interesting around here.

Alisia Dragoon is a very good game, and pretty unique with having a dragon as a companion. Highly recommended if you're into action platformers of that era.

Yeah. I’m glad gaming news mostly wrapped up for the year, it was getting a bit exhausting, but I will fondly remember the chaos and excitement it brought. We still have stuff like wondering when Indie World will return, but mostly I’m just looking forward to playing and talking about the games coming out.

Been super busy these past few weeks, but I finally should be able to dive into Splatoon properly this weekend. Can’t wait to talk about it for example.

Maybe a general Indie ST? Could be a place to talk about new indie game announcements and for people to highlight their game recommendations.
That'd be cool and far more useful. Maybe a simple, catch all ST like the RPG thread would be the way to go.

Just brainstorming here:

Indie Games ST: Recommendations, News, And Discussion

Indie Games ST: Discover And Discuss All Your Indie Favs Here

All platforms and genres would be welcome. If someone had a fun title I'd go with it.

Man, withdrawing from benzodiazapines is no joke.

Even with my dose being gradually tapered off over 8 weeks, I'm a wreck. I'm struggling to even use my laptop properly as my hands feel so clumsy that typing and using the mouse are a challenge. I just got back from a doctor's appointment to confirm I wasn't suffering from some horrible nerve disease or something.

Thank the flying spaghetti monster for CBD Oil, which is at least keeping my anxiety mostly in check, and thanks to famiboards and you fine folks for the cosy online space to escape to. :)

Yeah he still thinks Metroid Prime Remastered is a good candidate for a Twitter drop and fall release for the anniversary but states he will shave his head if it doesn't happen (paraphrasing his wording).
I'm hoping it does still come this year in a Twitter drop, but I just can't understand why Nintendo would wait and announce it in a Twitter drop when they could have easily got a lot more eyes on it by announcing it in the recent Direct.

Yeah E3 2021 direct had Metroid Dreads announcement and a Tears of the Kingdom teaser. I never thought Metroid and Zelda in one direct would be too good to be true because it literally happened and I would expect them to piggyback off Dreads success. It's why I don't think Prime HD is happening this year.

Oh, I guess there's the argument that they would have to discuss Prime 4, or possibly show something. I wonder if they would've gotten away with another "development is good, we'll talk about it later". I wouldve been fine with it personally.

I still think that even with a Twitter drop of Metroid Prime Remastered, people will be expecting some kind of update on Prime 4, obviously not as much as if it appeared in a Direct tho, so maybe you're right and that could be the reason, but I still think there is going to be a lot of "But what about Prime 4?" if they Twitter dropped Metroid Prime Remastered.

They are obviously saving Metroid Prime Remaster for the Metroid Prime Anniversary Direct where they reveal the remaster, Metroid Prime 20 for NSO subscribers, Metroid Prime Hunters + Sylux's Fury, and the Metroid Prime augmented reality laser tag game where you wrap the Switch to your face.

Nooooooo! His hair. His glorious mane. His luscious locks.

Nintendo better release MPR this fall 😡🤬😡

It’s pretty clear the dramatic inflation we’ve had over the past two years is making even the parties who were initially hesitant to jump on board the $69.99 next-gen game pricing train, like Ubisoft, reconsider.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Nintendo follows suit with the enhanced games that are released alongside or after their new hardware. Not every game – we’ve seen them explore variable games pricing on the Switch, and I think they’ll continue to do so – but stuff like TotK? Yeah, I’m expecting $69.99 and I’ll be pleasantly surprised if it’s $59.99. And I’m sure that will totally doom the new Switch just like the $299.99 launch price and $79.99 Joy-con pairs doomed the last one.

I’d start, like, mentally preparing for that now. Inflation is no joke. And $69.99 is honestly not as bad as it could be: Nintendo started releasing $59.99 discs with the Wii U in 2012 and adjusted for inflation that’s over $77 now, and will only be higher next year.

Metro 2033 is only a couple of bucks on the shop sale right now. Haven’t played the Switch versions yet but apparently they’re good ports.
