The new expansion might actually help get more subscriber for the lower price tier now that I think about it.

For many, just playing online is enough for folks base off my experience watching folks get online for their consoles.

This is my experience. I know lots of people say Playstation and Xbox offers more on their platforms for the money, and looking at it objectively in terms of pure offerings that's true, but from in terms of value me personally its all basically the same. I only pay for the services because I'm forced to in order to play games online. When I play online I don't need friend lists, chat features, or even voice chat because I know anyone that games to use those services. Even with PS+ I've only ever redeemed a single game because 1) I'm too busy to game as much as I use to before, so no need to fill a backlog of games I'm not interested in 2) I know what I like and I'd rather just buy them. I'd actually prefer if subscription benefits like NSO and the PS+ Collection were standard offerings, because I don't need to worry about FOMO and it helps me engage with games I never would have tried otherwise without feeling like I'm being "weighted down" by a backlog of games if I just pick things up with no intent to play anytime soon.

I see Nate is not an entomologist. It’s ok, but the caterpillar is the larval form. I would look at NSO like the stages of a tick. Egg, larvae, nymph, adult. I think we have gone past the larval stage into the nymph stage. Mirroring an adult but still not quite there. After feeding off the blood (re: money) of the the expansion pack subscribers, maybe NSO will finally reach an adult form.

Just three weeks until SMTV. I've done a pretty good job of keeping calm and not overhyping, but oof, it's catching up to me. Hopefully reviews will be out a week in advance, and since it seems like Atlus gave reviewers a good amount of time to not have to overly rush the game they should be a good read.

I'm also curious if reviewers will be able to play with the day 1 DLC, I'd love to know how meaty it is and how integrated into the storyline the fiends are.

I like having it at 200, at least for now. That may end up being too fast once the forum grows more and if we get into prime Direct speculation time, but for now it seems like a good place to start off.

Regarding the page count of this ST, I think keeping it at 400 will be fine. Our community may be smaller, but we will still burn through one ST every two months with ease. It's been three weeks and we are approaching 200 pages, so we are still moving plenty fast. Unless we want a new ST every month, I guess.

We could base it partially on demand. Like, keep track of who actually wants to be ST OP and determine if we have enough people to make it rotate more often.

I'm gonna be honest, I appreciated a lot of what Oxenfree was going for but I didn't find it a particularly enjoyable experience. I found the cast irritating and I also found the antagonists irritating, so during a few of the "do this task or someone might die" sequences I just wanted to scream "shut uuuuuup" at the spooky bone-chilling threats. I also remember the load times being long enough to feel disruptive, and typically I'm not a big stickler for that.

Not gonna lie but hearing Nate say there are 26M subscribers to NSO kinda tilted me. Nintendo really hasn't invested much of that money into the service to make it better.

Just when I was finding a way to convince myself to buy the expansion pack I'm right back to where I was when the price was announced.

Is NSO required for online features in Animal Crossing? It's required for Pokemon, right? Both of those will get a ton of people signed up regardless of what else is on offer.

The people who ran multiple OTs usually did so because they wanted to. Unless it was quite different in the earlier days, it never seemed to be a case of "well, there's no one else to do it, I guess it's back to me!" By the end of it, OTs were getting reserved 2 or 3 threads in advance

Another option would just be resetting monthly, rather than focusing solely on page count. But I think for now we can stick to the current poll options.
