I feel like this is the only way I'd accept a Selects line but honestly, all of them should have reversible covers.

How do you manage to have a pizza that looks so good and only eat the half of it ? Teach me your powers, please
Ha! I used to be able to eat whole pizzas growing up, but in general I eat less these days. Helps me avoid gaining weight and I feel generally better :)

We're all in agreement that pizza looks much better in cartoons than it does in real life right
The best pizza in real life can’t be topped, but there is some pizza that’s really good that maybe doesn’t look as good as it should I guess.

I do have a problem where any half way decent looking pizza, real or not, makes me want pizza lol. I rarely act on it, but I can want it badly lol.

Nah not even the best stuff looks as good as this

I dunno, man, a choice image of a quality pizza trounces that gif. Here are some pics of pizza from the local joints around my old place:

None of those have the indescribable quality that cartoon pizza has. The floppiness, cheesiness, freshness and stringyness all rolled into one quality.

I would be super happy having that first one especially. New York pizza is my favorite!

Nice mock-up but I feel like the banner doesn’t even need to be that big. (It’s weird to repeat the word “Nintendo,” it sort of reads like “Nintendo Switch Nintendo Selects.”) I could see them doing something where they just have a banner with the word “Selects” under the “Nintendo Switch” badge and then use non-transparent red plastic for the game cases to make them distinctive.

just finished Pikmin 3 Deluxe for the second time

no deaths, all fruit, "Hard" difficulty (actually just the same as the original)

I feel like it would get me exiled from Italy but my favorite pizza is a nice bbq chicken pizza.

It sometimes gets derided as a “pizza without toppings” but over the years I’ve come to appreciate a good, simple cheese pizza. What’s better than a slice of a warm, melty, saucy cheese pizza? Nothing.

Dammit now I need to go get pizza.
I had a five cheese pizza at the start of last week and hot damn it was good.

Margherita is best pizza.
I've been having a lot more Margherita pizza since my partner is lactose intolerant (and I'm getting there too, sadly). A good Margherita hits the spot, though I still love a nice cheese slice.

Correct. While specialty pizzas can be great, I feel a pizza place can be best judged by their basic slice. That fundamental cheese slice shows a lot about how one makes a pizza. That being said, I do add spices to my pizza - garlic powder, red pepper flakes, and oregano, sometimes parmesan too.

Saw someone complain today about how they miss the Wii U cos it actually had original content while the Switch is just all ports.

So, we're just gonna ignore Mario Odyssey, Metroid Dread, Astral Chain, Monster Hunter Rise, Splatoon 2 and 3, Xenoblade 2 and 3, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Smash Bros Ultimate, Luigi's Mansion 3, Animal Crossing New Horizons, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Shin Megami Tensei V, Octopath Traveler, Triangle Strategy, New Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Legends Arceus, Mario Maker 2, Ring Fit Adventure, and tons more? (Plus many more in the pipeline)

I mean, different strokes for different folks and all that, but the notion that the Switch is somehow lacking in new games compared to the Wii U just baffles me, and I say that as someone who owns both systems.

Yup in full agreement here. Cheese pizza is always my favorite and it’s how you judge the quality of a pizza place.

I usually don’t go too wild putting extra stuff on top, but graded parmesan cheese and red pepper are good additions for slices.

i can't imagine wanting to go back to the era of going 6+ months without a game worth playing

post Mario Maker to the launch of the switch was so bad

I'm seeing a lot of rose-tinted glasses towards the Wii U. I suppose it's inevitable. It is amusing after years of reading folks disparage it endlessly on NeoGAF, lmao.

When I first played on a Wii U, it belonged to my friend and it was after I already bought a Switch. The experience was night and day. I disliked how clunky it felt, from the UX to the gamepad. All that 'personality' that folks ascribe to its interface just feels like clutter. Maybe if I had owned a Wii U I would've grown to like it (big maybe), but I'm glad its games are just being ported to a more successful console where they can enjoy a second chance.

I have 50+ games on my Switch right now and not a single one is a Wii U re-release, and I'm not counting BotW. There's plenty on Switch without dipping into them.

Whooops pressed the post button too early haven’t posted my pizza GIF yet:

I do wonder if people that trot out that Switch is “all ports” actually know what Nintendo has published on the system. I’ve seen people that say stuff like Astral Chain and Snipperclips don’t count.

I loved my WiiU, and never really felt the draughts people talk about, maybe because I was digging into a lot of the indie offerings the console had between first party releases. Obviously compared to the Switch it's not much but what's funny is I personally felt like the first year of the Switch was pretty light outside of Odyssey and XB2, because it seemed like every other big Switch game that was coming out was something I already played a year or two or three ago. 😅

But yeah, comparing the two and saying the Switch now is nothing but ports is.. a very strange take.
