Playing the Ocarina PC port at 240p 120fps with an NSO N64 controller is the way to go.
Out of mild curiosity, do you feel any noticeable stutter when moving Link?

Something something the Switch controllers only operate at 60Hz, so theoretically that would imply some of the movement might feel a little juddering, but then if it's also 120fps it probably isn't all that bad.

The PC port has judder but I don't think it's controller related, Ship of Harkinian build has a fix for juddering at high framerate that inserts an artificial delay. But on the regular, I notice no input lag. Nice and fluid. There is a build of Betterjoy specifically for the NSO N64 controller, it's pretty much mandatory for these ports since it maps to XInput easily.
Do we know if this works on the steam deck?
There are multiple builds of the PC port, but it is indeed available on Deck, as well as homebrewed Wii U and Switch.

Interesting, that sounds like a nightmare to me haha. I feel like it would give me soap opera effect vibes
Yes the animation clearly has this interpolated look that threw me off at first, however, I accept it for the tradeoff in responsiveness. Does a game like Ocarina need such responsiveness? Maybe not. I'd be fine with a bump to 30. But it's amusing to see this game at the native refresh rate of my TV.

I’m getting my deck sometime in Q4 so this is good to know. I am so trying this on it

Xenoblade 3 really is like a single player MMO because none of these Heroes want to play the tank role.
I've been thinking this exact same thing, lol. I've gotten one Hero tank role and... it kind of sucks? I'm really looking forward to getting another tank Hero soon.

I'd be interested to know how Xenoblade 3's opening compares to Fire Emblem Three Houses in the UK. It's really the only game of its kind in the top 5 there, with everything else being the kind of all-ages games Nintendo does so well.

this is roughly how I picture the thread going this month

No disrespect to XC3 because I have no doubt it will be a success, but Strikers really took a shit. Hopefully Nintendo will take the response to heart.

These are the launch sales so any effects of negative reception wouldn't have a significant impact. Quality aside, I think people had unrealistic sales expectations for Strikers. For whatever reason, people here seem to think that Mario Sports games are massive sellers but history tells us that is not the case. Strikers probably did inline with Nintendo's expectations.

Yeah, based on the class selection screen, if everything remains sequential then it looks like it will be a while before the next tank class is unlocked. It sucks because that means basically everyone will be Rank 10 in the other three tank classes by the time I get the 4th.

There's a boardgame thread already and some recommendations there Do you like boardgames fami .Can't say about the newer releases, but I'll take a look at the video later, got curious about it.
I'll always recommend Concordia because I really love it, but if you're just getting into modern board games it may be not the best one to start.
Also I highly recommend watching reviews by Shut Up and Sit Down. Even when I don't agree with their position on the game in question I feel that the review can give a general idea about why they came to that conclusion and their videos are usually funny (or sometimes cringy, I mean a lot of times are cringy).
One about an "idea generator" of a game? Something for writers or creators of some sort?

Like, going through Wikipedia and learning new things?

It has been a huge hit in mainland Europe especially France, Strikers is fine sales wise.

I remember Iwata stating some like Nintendo bought Monolith Soft precisely because they wanted a long-running RPG series; I remember reading something like Iwata wanting Monolith Soft to create a series that could become Nintendo's own Final Fantasy, but I can't find it now I'm looking for it.

It's also the case that collaboration between Nintendo and Monolith Soft started before the acquisition. Obviously, there were the two Baten Kaitos games, but before that Iwata and Monolith Soft had experimented with their Earthbound remake pitch (which sadly never saw the light of day). In the context of Nintendo wanting a dedicated RPG series like Final Fantasy, and their preexisting relationship, the acquisition makes a little more sense. But certainly, I doubt anyone at the time foresaw Monolith Soft becoming Nintendo's largest subsidiary and a key part of the development of Zelda.

It certainly wouldn't have happened in the form that it did, given Takahashi offered to cut the game down when running behind schedule, only to be given the time and resources required to finish it properly.

I'm not surprised that Nintendo wanted its own long running RPG series. I'm surprised by the scope of the game itself. It's much larger than its contemporaries, even compared to something like Final Fantasy at the time. An open world game isn't something Monolith Soft had really done prior. If anything, one of the biggest criticisms of their games up to that point were that they were too linear and story heavy. So I think it was miracle that a game that massive was approved for and achieved on the Wii.

I hope we get the horse reveal this month for the memes, but I'm betting on a much later random drop. I see it occupying last year's Big Brain Academy slot

Oh look what finally got it’s first sale. Not sure if I’m biting or waiting tho. Could be a while to half off or not that long

I am now almost 30 years old. Learning programming just now really feels like I'm 20 years late.
I sometimes feel like the stupidest mf. But it's also rewarding... I hope I can pull through.

The BOTW trailer still gives me chills even to this day. One of the best games ever to be released in my opinion:

The wait has been so hard for the sequel and I really hope that it delivers.

GOAT trailer for the GOAT game. IMO of course!

can't wait for the full blow out of the sequel.

Day 4 of not being able to work on my game and I'm very upset that I cannot at the moment create a Flynoceros or a Foxy Lady.
Haha, oooh, and that means you can't make a Foxy Flynoceros either!

Thought this was one of those Magic Eye pictures for a sec so was trying to adjust my eyes to see the 3D image.
It actually is!
It's a horse!
Mornin yall

I definitely cried!

Anyone who cares about only games probably should abandon ship. The horses have taken over. This is a horse thread now. 🐎🐴

BOTW is one of the very few 10s I've given out in the past decade or so. My hype is very high for the sequel. The wait has been long and difficult. Wish we could see the game this year but I doubt we will.
BotW really means the world to me. It was an experience like no other I had before or after.
I breathed in (pun not intended) this game for probably 9 months straight.
The sequel will ruin my sleep schedule again lol.

It's never too late! A much older friend of mine (a mentor, kind of) in his 60s has just started to learn programming and has been enjoying it! I don't know a thing about it, but it's an amazing skill for sure, even just to have a new way of thinking and seeing things in the world!

Birds always take a dump on me

They be mean
Geez, always?! What'd you do to them, haha! :ROFLMAO:

Is it because you lied when you were seventeen?
Maybe the edge of seventeen, with that white winged dove?

The game is amazing. I'm nervous about the sequel because it reuses the same map (with content added in) and the teaser footage we got kind of underwhelmed me but at the same time I feel like Nintendo will do a full reveal of this game and it will be something ambitious and incredible and possibly running on new hardware.

With such a massive development time with an even bigger development team and not having to rebuild the engine from scratch, I have to think this game is going to be a lot more ambitious then the first game.

The wait has been challenging for me. Like I really really want to see more of the game. I'm like a kid waiting to open my presents... for almost 6 years now lol.

Dragon Quest XI: S was one of my other 10s. That was also an incredible game.

I could have sworn I heard Strikers was doing very well in Europe it's just everywhere else that it is not doing very well. Personally think we should wait for the numbers from Nintendo but I don't know if we'd get them this quarter report or the next one.

DQ 11 is one of the few JRPGs I genuinely loved the time I played it for. Never finished it unfortunately, Got stuck somewhere and kinda forgot about it. Gotta finish it sometime.

I played on easy. Game was pretty easy to grind and level up. Had my entire lineup of characters maxed out. Made the game a lot easier to finish. I typically don't like hard games and DQ11 was quite easy on easy difficulty which I liked. Loved everything about that game.. Anyways I'm excited for Dragon Quest 12 but that has to be like many years off at this point.

I have like $12 in gold right now. Maybe I’ll use some of it on this.

can’t swing a dead horse without hitting a video game in here

horses should be put on trial for their ceaseless crimes against the golden arc of justice
