The My Nintendo Store is under maintenance and has been for the whole last week. No info when it's coming back online.

My gut feeling says it's coming up shortly before Xenoblade 3 releases, and they open the EU preorders for the CE on the same day, for a spectacular shitshow, with the "CE game will arrive late due to problems and late shipping" icing on top.
The UK store is still up, but I'm guessing they'll wait until everything is back online before putting the orders up.

I want to see Saito redesign Pyra but with XC3's design language. Her XC2 design is a garbled mess but the characters in 3 are more consistent. Even keeping the boob socks and hot pants, I think she would look much better

Just had the first video on of DeeBeeGeek playing XC2 on in the background - his enthusiasm is so infectious!

After Xenoblade 2 reviews I really don’t care what the reviewers says

Well, it has a 83% score on Metacritic, it's not bad at all, it's VERY GOOD, imho.
I don't see that 9-points-gap with Xenoblade as something I personally agree upon, but...

Bad email!

Thank you for registering your interest in the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector’s Edition from My Nintendo Store.

Due to unforeseen logistical challenges, we are unable to open pre-orders for the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Collector’s Edition before the game launches on July 29th. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

To give customers the flexibility to purchase and enjoy the game at launch, we will now be offering the contents of the Collector’s Edition (soft cover concept art book, steel case and outer box packaging) as a separate purchase at a price that does not include the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 software.

This means you can buy the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 game when it launches on July 29th, and have a chance to
pre-order the Collector’s Edition contents on My Nintendo Store later in September.

Edit:
I'm in the UK so unsure how many of us this will effect. This is karma for laughing at the US preorder debacle.

Well, looks like Europe is getting the Collector's Edition contents separate from the game in September. At least I'm free from refreshing pages until then.

Yep, just received the same email from Nintendo Store UK. Bah humbug.
At least the next two weeks will be less stressful, and I can focus on playing the game.

Honestly releasing the CE contents separately is the best solution, I wish that was an option over here in the U.S. considering I don't even know if they are shipping the game by launch day.

Off to Amazon.de i go then.

Guess they won't relaunch / reopen the My Nintendo Store in July after all.

Well that absolutely blows, going to check where I can get a UK copy... Absolutely loath Dutch covers :cautious:

IT too, I've just received the very same message
I think we can assume is for every "NoE" country

US here. Just received the same email.

It's a shame they weren't able to keep the orders central, but at least I have faith in getting the game day one now 😅

I agree. I'm actually relieved they opted for this solution. Now we don't have to worry about the game not being delivered on time, or having to buy it twice. There may even be less demand for the extra content now, so that would increase the chance of being able to preorder it. So for me personally it's a win-win situation.

Yeah, it'd nice to do a digital pre-load and still get the CE goodies.

I'm taking the 29th off with my wife since she has a doctor's appointment, but I have no idea how long it'll take my CE copy to ship. What I might end up doing is pre-ordering a physical from Target or something, picking that up on the 29th, and then returning it once my CE copy shows up.

Germany, e-mail too. I guess at this point it's safe to say this, at least, is going to be the same for all EU countries, maybe even the US.

Anyway, i just went to Amazon.de and pre-ordered the regular edition. At least i'm getting it on launch day this way.

No? I pre-ordered from the US My Nintendo Store and got the same email.

EDIT: Well Nvm. I see now. Checked the bottom of the email and it’s definitely Europe. No idea why I’m receiving this email.
That's why I was confused by what you said.

I don't have the email, so it might be an error is NAers are getting it

Don't bother checking out the social media user meltdowns over the delayed C.E. It just proves that people cannot read properly, or have a complete lack of comprehension.
I thought that Xenoblade fans were better than this.

At least this has the potential to save some money; I won't be needing to order a standard copy + the additional one bundled within the C.E.
I really do hope that the logistics are setup properly come September.
For selfish reasons...I've got a set to complete, my current collection consists of:

Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii, 2011 UK release) Special Edition w/Red Classic Controller
Xenoblade Chronicles X Limited Edition (EU)
Xenoblade Chronicles X Special Edition (NA)
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Special Edition (EU)
Switch Pro Controller Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Edition
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Collector's Set

It's curious that there isn't a special edition of the Pro Controller to coincide with the release of 3. Given the greater marketing campaign (so far), it would've been cool to have the hardware to match.
I wonder whether supply issues demanded that they funnel all resources into manufacturing the MH:R Sunbreak version instead.

Thanks to the CE delay I preordered it on the eShop using a voucher. I also discovered this weekend that some stores sell 100 euro eShop cards at 93 euro, which is a further saving.

So if I already have a Special Edition preorder secured and charged, does that mean that it's now cancelled?
Or does that just mean I'll just get two shipments now?

Edit: My bad. It seems the e-mail I got did indeed come from Europe, and remembered I had accidentally signed up to the European Nintendo Store e-mail due to all the links being sent in this thread.

I’m hearing the reviews will be up on the 26th.
That'd be great! Fairly early for Nintendo. Not that reviews are a big deal to me, but it's nice to see them and get a bit more info. Plus I'd like to see the game review a bit better and get good optics going into launch, just as a fan and to spread good WoM for non-day 1 buyers.

I wonder how the game length will affect the review score, he looks fed up lol

I think stuffing this game with good content will help a lot with its ability to have legs and sell well overall, plus coming out this summer where there is no competition instead of in September.

I mean, is he forced to play 135 hours? is he gated by doing a fuckload of side content? if not, he could just head to the finish and then use the post game time to finish up stuff

He's probably been doing a good amount of sidequests, though he also said "i have no idea how i'm not done with it. It just keeps going". So now i'm thinking the main story will be bigger than 2's.

So this guy is saying 135 hours but Nintendo World Report rolled credits over a week ago, although he mentioned that there was a lot of the map he hadn't discovered yet.

This may be a little extreme but what if the structure of this game is like Elden Ring where the mandatory stuff is like 20% of the game and you can finish it without discovering many areas and quests. This level of non linearity would also make sense of some of the comparison to Xenoblade X that we've seen hinted at.

Xenoblade X but actually complete and with a proper story would be great.

Nonlinearity would fit well with the heroes too. Could be set up where you need to build your team as strong as possible before making the trek to Swordmarch.

The only issue with that would be level scaling, which would need some adjustment.

What if Xenoblade 3 is just FF6's world of Ruins but for the whole game?

I don't think being super long will affect review scores all that much one way or the other. Games like Elden Ring and Persona 5 Royal both reviewed incredibly well despite being anywhere from like 90-150 hours long. And at least it seems like XC3 review copies have been in the hands of reviewers for a good long time, so hopefully they're not feeling super rushed.

I also doubt that 135 hours is mostly mainline-focused, he has to be doing quite a bit of side stuff and exploration. Which you should in a review, I think! But at the same time it might be doable in much less time if you're focused mostly on the plot.
