Going with the idea that the Direct will be a Partner Direct, what 1 or 2 things being shown would make you be happy with the Direct?
Good Feels new game could fall in this category for me
and maybe Red Dead Redemption 1 or 2 or both

As a hater of good games I'm disappointed
When we were in the theater for Elvis last night a commercial for Elden Ring came up on the big screen and I leaned over and said to my dad "That's the absolute biggest game in the world right now. And I don't give a crap about it." And he bellowed with laughter harder than I've heard in a while.

What basically means no general? Please someone explain.
No General Nintendo Direct presentation. Nintendo "General" Direct is the main type of Nintendo Direct presentation. Showcases information about software and hardware across all Nintendo platforms. Starting in 2017, a series of headlines during certain segments were introduced.

P4G
Silksong release date
Bayonetta 3 release date
Tactics Ogre Reborn
DQIII 2DHD

A couple of this would make me Happy, three and I will be ecstatic

In the end, the MK and MP DLC, and Persona 5 on Switch is all I care about in terms of getting announced at a direct.

catching up on this thread, a mini (partner?) direct seems a lot less exciting than what we were talking about a week ago

but if that shin-chan boku no natsuyasumi game shows up...

While I’m not gonna lose my mind or anything if it’s a mediocre showing, I’ve learned to not trust any insiders as to the quality of the show. Has nothing to do with a lack of trust in them, it’s just that a good showing for one person might be a bad one for another. The recent Xbox showcase is a prime example of this.

It might still be a General imo. Last year's February Direct was third-party focused. Of course, a lot of people didn't like it...

Let’s be honest, SOMEBODY, has out of date or incorrect info, literally everyone in the know is saying something different, some people are saying the 28th, 29th, General, mini, third party focus, partner showcase, etc. I think we need to realize that no matter what, SOMEBODY is going to be wrong, and I’m obviously not trying to shit on anyone leaking this information, but for like, the past week, anytime anyone of note online has said anything that doesn’t complement what we already know, we’ve immediately latched onto it as if it’s correct, usually throwing out whatever we’ve heard up until that point in the process.

Just saying, it could really be anything, like idk, we’ll see what happens, but I’m not committing to believing anything yet (except it not being a General cuz ya gotta have a little bit of that pessimism)

Honestly, nothing in particular, I just like seeing new games be announced even if they're not for me. I think I'd really like to see Bayonetta 3, but even without it, I'll definitely enjoy watching.

As it stands, my 2022 for Nintendo is gonna be Legends Arceus, Kirby, Switch Sports, and Pokémon SV. That’s incredibly sparse.

Whatever we get, I think it'll be announced tomorrow. Both NoA and NoE Twitter has been silent all weekend. While not 100% of the time, most of the time they do it before a big announcement

There’s a possibility in the back of my head that whatever we’re getting is gonna be a new “type” of direct, idk
The Nintendo Direct "go f yourself".

Just a screen with that title running for 30 minutes. Of course some fans will take it too literally.
Adds up with Nate saying we shouldn't be obsessed with the branding.

Maybe. He seemed super confident in his predictions, but maybe he doesn’t know they’re not going to be announced now
I'm just going with the fact that whatever happens tomorrow/Tuesday happens, it's too confusing and exhausting trying to connect all the different dots from all the places that have some sort of smoke. It's easier to just wait out the day and see what happens

Pokémon Legends Arceus left me busy until June, even though I started it in February. Now I’m midway through Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

I expect to be divided between Xenoblade DE (want to finish before playing 3), Fire Emblem and 13 Sentinels until November for Pokémon SV, and then finally jumping in Xeno 3 in 2023.

So… I’m only hyped for a Direct because I’m addicted to growing my backlog and never getting close to finishing it lol

I’m sure Nintendo will try to reorder my schedule though.

This is the fun part though? The direct happening is the boring part.

True, the speculation is usually really really fun (it kinda is still right now) but it's just the fact that we keep going back and forth on the branding and usually it's just "what games are going to be there" or "will it be Koizumi or Takahashi presenting" you know?

I'm gonna be pretty picky here because I have an Xbox. Persona ports mean nothing to me, for example, when I can get them for free.

1) Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope
2) Bayonetta 3
3) A Cadence-of-Hyrule level surprise

That's pretty much it besides out of left field cool stuff. We'll see!

Nintendo MisDirect

Even Nintendo doesn't know what will be there. It'll be a livestream of throwing darts at a board of random games and we'll see what happens

Wait, you are onto something here.
We have a new pattern.
Atlus announcement = Partner Showcase
Actually, I would say the new pattern is just indicative of Atlus meaning mini directs of some form now. Since correct me if I'm wrong, Catherine Full Body was revealed in the March 2020 Mini Direct, SMT 3 and SMT were in a Mini Partner Showcase for July 2020, and we are possibly going to have Persona in a Mini Partner Showcase on June 28th, 2022.

You heard it here first folks. Don't ask for any new Atlus games because it now means that direct will be a mini direct. We have all been warned the costs of asking for Atlus to listen to fans by porting their games

Here is my two cents, it's focused on third parties but that would mean no first party announcements even small things, don't work with partner branding. It has to be a mini at this point. This is great chance to put an updates on games like Splatoon 3 which are first party.

Well ok, I'm more than fine with a regular mini, as that has potential to announce Mario Kart DLC (and Mario Party DLC hopefully).
Yeah regular mini would be hype. Mario Kart and Mario Party DLC would be nice for sure. Im kind of hoping for a big announcement in a Mini but doubt it. BOTW2 would be a no show, but we could get Metroid news maybe? Im not really into Bayonetta(yet) but they could show something

do you know why they call it a Nintendo direct

Because it makes you want to shove your Nintendo directly into da TRASH
