All seemed normal then I saw this thread shoot up by like 5 pages lol

Even if it is a mini, I don't think there's anything to worry about. Feels like there general consensus is, BotW2 aside, there probably won't be any major bombshells if they just focus on 2022. Mario Kart DLC, Rabbids 2, Advance Wars, Prime and/or Zelda remasters, Bayo 3, new third party games, and potentially Fire Emblem all seem pretty likely. Even if that was packaged as a "mini" that would still be an awesome showcase.

If it's a Mini, I would anticipate Xenoblade 3 doesn't appear, Splatoon 3 gets something small (maybe it gets its own Direct in August or so), and Fire Emblem doesn't get announced until September, which is also where the BOTW2 blowout happens. Mostly third party, dates for stuff like Mario + Rabbids and maybe Silksong, and then end with Metroid Prime HD and a small tease for Metroid Prime 4. That would be my guess.

As I said on Twitter weeks ago: A Direct on June 28/29 -- depending region; remains accurate.
Team Monday and Tuesday announcement, please stop your fight, this means the Direct IS on Tuesday… actually, mini’s and Partner Showcases were always earlier in the day, leading to no time zone discrepancy for the date, so based on #patterns, the Direct IS a General

Tbh I take it as a sign of trust that Nate comes in here and brings the potentoally bad news to us. Thanks Nate!

Nintendo need to talk about :

- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC

- Mario Strikers future updates

- Mario and Rabbids

- Advance Wars release date

- Bayonetta 3

- more Splatoon 3 new info

- possible new announcements

They need a big fat Direct
I have a feeling Advance Wars will eventually get shadow dropped with zero announcement or marketing.

And that will be the last AW game that Nintendo ever releases.

What if it's another Xenoblade Direct

They can make a good mini with heavily focused on summer/early fall lineup:

  • opening bayonetta 3
  • third party stuff like batman, persona, tactics ogre/fft, etc
  • ending with mk8dx tracks and zelda wiiu ports

No Metroid Prime 1R/4, Fire Emblem, Xeno 3, Splatoon 3, Pokemon S/V. Maybe Mario + Rabbids 2.

Last mini was march 2020 and featured 18 headlines including announcements like 2K Games, Catherine, Clubhouse Games etc. It started with Xeno DE and ended with Pokémon Sword/Shield Expansion. It lasted 28 minutes.

It will probably feature shadowdrops, as I thinks thats the way insiders/journalist knew in anticipation about them.

We all know patterns dont matter, even then it can still be a partner.

I do not follow this logic

Making a Mini/Partner in the E3 month would prove that Nintendo doesn’t know or doesn’t care about people’s expectations.

I think a Mini Direct can be really good. I get it probably won’t have your biggest announcements you’re hoping for, but there should still be some good announcements and release dates in there.

Mini Directs are so fucking lame. At least we're feasting in the actual games department, if that's what we end up getting

TBH at this point id be fine for just TP and WW ports being announced.

Somehow this will be used against me if the clock isn't past midnight in a region. Being given a date/time of 28/29th is to cover there being a regional/time difference. It doesn't mean there will be one. It's just to say, "it'll be either Tuesday or Wednesday".

Oh shoot, wasn’t trying to come off like that, just some dumb speculation on my part going off of what you know

Honestly I got more about Xenoblade Chronicles 3 out of the Xenoblade Direct than I ever would have gotten out of a General Direct, and that's the game I'm looking forward to more than anything else. So, I guess no matter what happens next week, yay?
Honestly same. I'm still riding the high from that so much that I'm not bothered too much right now. No matter what, we're within a few short weeks of Xenoblade previews and the game itself. And it'll easily fill my time for most of the summer.

I mean the branding has historically meant something though.

That said, I suppose Bayo 3 date confirmation and MPHD could fit in a mini

I don’t see stuff like BotW2 or the brand new fire emblem being revealed in a mini though

I saw Inside Man finally.

It was great.

Only thing i disliked was the color grading. Looked ugly and I think the intended effect didn’t really work. (Maybe it was the streaming). And that one weird shot of Denzel looking like he’s levitating after a dramatic moment lol. I got the effect but it ended up looking silly in the end. I do appreciate how un-violent it was, especially a certain moment where it gets you thinking “hmm, out of character for this film, must be something else”.

Highly recommend. Next up is Super 8

Also saw Multi-verse of madness. It was mediocre personally and didn’t care for it much. Nice to see some Mexican representation tho.

XC3 Direct was the best game specific direct I’ve watched aside from the Smash august 2018 direct, yeah

Yup I don't really care about the type of Direct we get. It's at least news about games we likely didn't have before. Even if its just something like release date announcements about games we already expect some time this year. All is well and good.

and why should we trust this "PH Brazil" anyways?
He’s a journalist for the enemy which is one of the bigger gaming news sites in Brazil, second he was a former mod on resetera, and 3rd he predicted a bunch of first party titles that were annouced last year such as splatoon 3, D&P remakes, Metroid dread etc

Do you think there will be first party games shown at the Direct?

No other way to slice it not having a general direct really sucks. Nintendo gonna Nintendo. At least there are a bunch of games I'm looking forward to in the near future. Xeno, Live A Live , and Klonoa

We won’t expect BOTW 2 in Mini Direct and we can’t have a first party games in partner. Well kinda

So it’s reasonable to obsessed over the branding
