Damn. What did Geoff do to Nintendo that wants nothing near him lol.

Anyways. Just as long it’s on a Tuesday or Wednesday. I’m good to watch without needing to take a day off! Hooray for weird work schedules

I had the 15th off and everything, now we’ll see I guess

Why can’t they just announce early 😭
yup, I had the 14th in a couple weeks ago assuming... I don't mind if its not next week, would just like to atleast have a LITTLE advance knowledge on a date haha

I'm on vacation next week, so it better happen then!

In some catholic countries, the 16th is a holiday, Corpus Christi. Do you guys think Nintendo cares enough about this?

I think Nintendo just wants to do nothing anymore that they can't control themselves. Corporate marketing interests above everything.

Like, right in this thread we can see that the instant they don't have an industry-mandated time to 'show their Direct', they go back to making everyone wait until right before for a Direct to know about it. Back in 2014 they were one of the biggest presences at E3, now it's like they don't even exist in the wider industry.

Hell, they didn't even let Metroid Dread's developers give a speech at The Game Awards :(

Go play games?

I was about to say perhaps they just want more globally situated events and announcements but... yeah that one hurt in the face of such a dev-first event.

Nintendo will have a whole week to themselves to do a direct and treehouse if they want on June 21st week or the following week. I still expect they will do a treehouse and announce it a week early

"I wish Nintendo announced their Direct 2 weeks in advance"

Direct happens 2 weeks after original announcement date

A game I never said was coming last year (only that I had heard talk a game was in development) & hardware that developers have in-hand & are working with.

And with that any further Direct timing I'm done giving. It's June. Be patient. Go play games.
there’s only 3 weeks of the month left anyways we’re civilized (maybe)

Everyone is guilty of confirmation bias. Looking for anything to confirm like these couple of games. When Nate has to tell you to be patient over and over it’s clear as day that it’s not coming until late June.

Furthermore, it's clear as day to leave him the heck alone lol

The real question is which comes first, Pokémon snap on nso’s release date being announced or the direct which likely has the new n64 nso roadmap

Yeah, I could hear someone at Nintendo going:

"OK, these developers are slightly controversial and might say something outside of our corporate interests. Get Bowser in to give a marketing description of the game."

The e-mail poster did mention that they heard other stuff, so it wasn't based on Neon White alone. So even though their assumption about a shadowdrop turned out inaccurate, there's still some more news incoming 🤔 though prolly individual announcements

Btw I'll wait for reviews but Neon White is prolly a day 1 for me

Yo so how bout regardless of who you are speaking to, you show some respect.

Doubly so if you're getting crappy about a dang commerical.

Thank you for your infos Nate! I appreciate the fact that you ruled out the 14
In this way I’ll stop waiting everyday and I can finally study

Guys it is going to be the 22nd. It is my holiday and thats why they put it then so I can watch it live ;).

not sure I get the 2014 E3 reference. They basically doing the same thing and controlling their narrative lol.

Just sounds like you want things to be more fun. They stepped back from having their Treehouse be a focal point in directs and whatnot. Don’t think we’ve seen Bill in a while. But that’s not surprising since that’s what they had during the Wii U era. Plus it’s so clear their games stick out like sore thumbs sometimes in these shows.

I have a hard time feeling bad about Mercury Steam since what I’ve seen a while ago, they still haven’t credited everyone who worked on Dread.

All in all. It’s really no difference to me. Just feels something happen between 2017 to now with Geoff cause he was working with them multiple times.

Everything is always corporate

I hope FE will be in this direct
I swear, if Nintendo makes me waiting all this time and then they don’t show it… 🔪

The Game Awards is not a dev-first event; if it was they wouldn't be shoving so many awards to the side in order to give more focus to ads and musical numbers.

Darlings I've been out of the loop; but the Neon White situation made me pop in here to catch up with the Community Consensus.

And thank goodness, honestly. I'm tremendously busy at the moment, and it being a little later would probably give me a chance to catch my breath.

...that said though if they announced it for next week I'd still be hyped.

Mmm fair. For the devs that did get camera time it was nice to hear their perspective. The show needs a lot of work of course but of the awards shown, Bowser was the outlier as a suit.

What is going on? What is Neon White? Why is it causing so much Nintendooming? I'm very confused.

SGF is making me realize how much I appreciate Nintendo Direct's pacing. Good lord that dragged on for forever
Imagine a direct that talked about metroid prime 4 for 20 minutes peddling the same exact amount of info we already have

I would love it if more time was given to developers and their voices during TGA, but for now I'm have no issue with Nintendo treating it like the farce it is and giving it the bare minimum.

Youtuber tanked his own career by leaking an embargo for Neon White at 9AM PT on June 15th because the email didn't have an NDA to sign.

So now we have no Direct guesses at all, and Sam Kaar won't be getting any future emails regarding sensitive information lol.

Chaos reigns.
