That is still one of the most legendary film scores of all time, it elevates the movie SO much. It's full of scenes like this, where it lets things breathe and you can just let the music create a scene:

I'm an Xbox fan who stuck around during the Xbox One generation. This is nothing. I'll take that late Deathloop port on Game Pass and maybe that rumored Gears collection and I'll be fine.
 
Xbox may be lacking in first parties but I think they’re are lining themselves up to be ranking in 1st party games in a few years. There new approach was never gonna be an easy transition and even know they’re still figuring things out, some might argue it’s been long enough, but I think Xbox fans will be happy in a few years with their games.

I like their consoles but hardly care for any of their first parties lol. It’s my 3rd party machine usually and I just use PlayStation for exclusives.
 
I was a big fan of Microsoft during the original Xbox and Xbox 360 but the thing I really hate about them is how they mismanaged their own studios. The reason why they even need to buy up all these studios is because they failed to support their own internal studios and franchises. Loved Halo. Enjoyed the original Gears trilogy. I'm a huge fan of Fable 1 and 2. But during the Xbox One, games in these franchises failed to live up or in the case of Fable, never even became reality.

Xbox buying up these studios are investments they should have been doing years ago because it will take many more years for these games to be released. And from reports, Perfect Dark is already having production problems, Starfield still has a ways to go, who the hell knows when Rare's new IP actually releases. So in the mean time, it's mostly Halo, maybe Gears, and Forza with only Forza being high enough quality carry things.
 


Compile Hearts does not have the best track record of good rpgs. I still think Mary Skelter is their best work and my fav, since I love drpg, but even in those games there is a section that I have no idea why its there.
 
Little over 12 hours until the Fall Guys mystery announcement.

Shadowdrop on Switch same day? Later this week? Before the the end of May? What say y'all?!

Finally fired up Forbidden West. I'm enjoying it far more than Zero Dawn, they sure improved upon it. The world feels much less static, even though there's still not much to "do" other than battling dinosaurs. Which doesn't really matter, because combat is fantastic.

I also really like the much more flexible exploration, which makes just moving around the world feel rewarding, the improved climbing is great and so is the glider!

However, I think that that is all there is to it on the positive side of things for me personally. I find everything concerning both the narrative itself and Aloy to be quite the downer. Aloy herself spoils a lot of the game's more captivating moments by constantly reminding me what to do, and spoiling even the smallest puzzles, etc. I wish there was a toggle for that. I think the story is somewhat boring, and all the characters feel sort of flat.

I legit forgot Forbidden West existed. Elden Ring completely stole the spotlight. Cant wait for Horizon VR to continue the tradition and launch a week before Half Life Alyx 2.

Having covid with practically no symptoms and having to isolate playing video games was very good for my backlog.

Beat:
Mario Golf 64 (100%)
Mario Tennis 64 (went through a tournament to the end + credits, dabbled in other games modes briefly)
Yoshi’s Story (all levels complete)
Mario Party Superstars (played all boards, checked out everything on Minigame Mountain, 100/100 minigames played and reached level 50 which unlocked the credits)
Mario Tennis Aces (finished the story and the extra missions unlocked after, played the Yoshi ring game and unlocked purple Yoshi. That’s about all I can do as the online the completely dead, so no other costumes for me)

I’ve gotta say, despite having a lot of games for it the Switch is a system I’m really staying on top of. Gonna play through WarioWare and Splatoon 2 next and that’s me mostly caught up.
I do need to buy Fire Emblem Three Houses though. That’s like the one big first party game I’ve skipped entirely so far.

My biggest question is : will they go free-to-play or not ?
 
Oh neat you can play the co-op challenge by yourself. If it times out you get COM opponents so I can grind the other Yoshi colours.
Can’t do that with online matches for alt costumes though.

Just to add Bugsnax on Switch to this - I'm about half way through and it runs well, looks nice and is pretty damn bizzare.

Thanks for sort of quelling my fears of not getting the HD ports after that Tantalus interview. (Or at least making me think more logically.)

WW/TP HD, on top of everything we know this year, would make this my favorite year of Switch releases. Even if we just got one of them on Switch this year.

Can safely say the migraine is gone. One of the worst ones in a w while

I will take it easy some today so my postings will be limited for today

My MRI is later this afternoon as well. I doubt I’ll get results right away but I’ll keep you all posted regardless
 
Started WarioWare Get it Together and initial thoughts are that I don’t really like the gimmick.

Games don’t feel as good as past games due to having to be doable with the different characters, and some characters are way less intuitive than others for certain games. Sometimes it’s hard to figure out what to do quickly, or you’re using Mona who doesn’t stay still and instantly hit an obstacle and lose.

Idk I’ll keep playing but it feels like a downgrade so far.
