Okay, I’m giving this serious thought now that I know there’s interest in it. If it ends up happening, I will post a link to his channel here on Famiboards.

Now I need channel name recommendations- something catchy, clever, or fun. Let me know what you got and I might just end up using one of your ideas when creating the channel!
I will 100% smash that subscribe button, as the younguns say. Sounds like a blast from the link to the past.

Also, with as many titles as have been offered in this community for Breath of the Wild sequels, I'm shocked nobody jumped on the chance to name your grandpa's channel. 😅

Well I spent the day think it was Thursday because of the Europa League final and was shocked to find out it is still Wednesday so the week got a day longer for me
Lol

Oh well. With the Europa League final out of the way we can look forward to AS Roma - Feyenoord next week

FF16 (and SE as a whole with their AAA offerings) seems to be going in a direction I really don’t like
So I don’t know how old you are nor how attached you are to the FF series. But if you’re a fan of the old games, I think that FF XVI may interest you, even if it’s an action game. The director Naomi Yoshida perfectly captured the essence of the FF games with what he did on FF XIV and he already said that FF XVI will aim for an audience of old fans of the series, so I have trust in the final product, and I think you should keep an open eye for it!

But I have to say I agree with you on the whole Switch v. the other consoles sentiment at the moment. Before launching Lost Judgment a couple weeks ago, I haven’t touched my PS5 in weeks. I haven’t launch my Series S for a couple months. Both systems are in a bit of a release drought… but to be honest last year it was the opposite and it was my Switch who stayed in its dock.

If what you like are games that focuses more on tight gameplay than being « prestige games » with an important story and photorealistic graphics, for sure, the Switch is gonna be a more welcoming system for you since it’s practically all Nintendo makes. But such games will start to come out more and more on PS5 as well, don’t worry!

Can anybody recommend me WEIRD and BIZARRE Switch or PS4 games? I don't care if they are indie or from big publishers. I finished NMH3 like one month ago and my mind is asking me for more insane games.
Kinda late to this, but The Procession to Calvary definitely falls within those two adjectives and it has one of the most distinctives art styles you will experience.

Played more Xenoblade (1) tonight. Made it a chunk into Chapter 7. It’s so, so good. I shouldn’t have slept on it this long.

So I don't know if these qualify as weird and bizarre or more as quirky but What the Golf is cool and dumb and APE OUT is an amazing and cathartic experience.

And it’s part of a three game series too. Four Last Things is the first one, and I forget the name of the third that’s currently in development. Not sure if they’re on Switch though.

I fall in and out of love with modern gaming but it is often due to a combination of things, not necessarily because games have gotten "worse" or anything. Both my gaming habits as well as my living conditions have changed dramatically since my formative gaming years and I've come to accept that I can't partake in this hobby the same way I used to.

The Switch has become my primary platform in part because the act of getting to play a game is so immediate and frictionless. I can quickly suspend and resume a game, take it to the living room, the office, onto the train or to bed and don't have to worry about any extraneous stuff. Compared to that, playing on my Series S feels like a commitment. Do I want to use the projector or do I unhook the Xbox and take it to the other room? Do I sit down to play something or would I rather just watch a movie? The more I have to think about whether I want to use it, the likelier it is that the answer will be "no". (I do however greatly appreciate Quick Resume and if I ever decide to get a second Xbox I will make heavy use of Play Anywhere.)

I think what's nice about Nintendo as a publisher and developer is that they make a lot of games that follow this pick-up-and-play philosophy. I can jump into many (not all) of their games, fuck around for a little bit and feel like I've actually done something. And for games like Zelda, Xenoblade or Fire Emblem I don't have to worry about being interrupted thanks to the Switch. I realize that this is highly personal, however.

Between the Switch and the Steam Deck I've barely touched "home" consoles. I don't see how ALL of "AAA" gaming can go back to home console only after the Switch.

Some people harp on Nintendo for being backwards and slow to catch up, but as a side effect this has kept them “stuck” in an era of gaming that I enjoyed a lot and it still commands my attention to this day.

They are very slow and backwards and slow to catch up, however they know how to make simple games. I played Switch Sports with my 68 year old mom last weekend. I simply can't have that experience on any other console right now.

It's getting harder and harder to hold out on the Evil Dead game. I want to see what the switch version will look like. But i can't wait for much longer

Ok finally restarted Disgaea V complete since I only ever made it 3 missions in, in the past anyways. Any qol tips(I’m not up for detailed tips at the moment as I just want to build momentum and make a basic squad to focus on so I don’t stall again. Not that I wouldn’t like to break the game)

Still in May and it is way too warm already. I don't like that.
The temperature high here is going up 40 degrees in 48 hours 🥵

Very slow and backwards seems to work in their favor. I'm not saying they get things right all the time but I think ignoring the pressure to chase the current trends allows them to study them and see which things are going to actually stick around, rather than constantly pivoting around or sinking money into ventures that just won't pan out in the long term for them.

I think I scared @Suswave away with my burrito grease accident.

Please come back Sus, I promise it's not something I do all the time
you definitely didn’t scare me away, I’ve done worse to a burrito

I’ve just been exhausted, annoyed, and out of it this week. not in prime “reading comprehension and chaotic jokes” form

I could go for a week in the woods and several long naps

Played it on PS4, but I am really curious how this will turn out. Would be nice to have a serviceable portable version of the game. I think it is a good fit for pick up and play.
if it plays as well as Subnautica despite being a much bigger game, then that would be impressive. The footage shown during the last direct was quite good.

I’m in northern Delaware and it’s going to be 96 this weekend… with low range of 56 in the morning… what the fuck. It’s Spring!

I’m going to Disney this weekend and it’s going to be 87… cooler than the northeast. What the fuck is happening.

Reaction image attached to supposed leaks of Pokemon SV about how I'm feeling re: starters, new mons, regional variants, and "new trailer in late May"

This is pretty creative but listing the animals they're based on gives it away as a fake imo. It feels like someone googled "Spain animals" and just took whatever seemed cool to them.

* laughs in californian *
it's not even 8am yet and I'm sweating indoors

Seriously, it's been a crazy warm and dry spring here already, and it's hitting the 90s a few times in May so far which is rather hot. Looks to be a hot summer, and probably another really terrible fire season out west/central yet again. I'm not looking forward to it.

Then again there's a polar vortex coming in tomorrow and the temps are going to drop like a rock, we might get four inches of snow tomorrow (somehow). 80s and 90s to a high of 40, woooo!

I’m preparing for multiple inches of snow. In May. In the US. I’m jealous of your situation!

Same! But I also can't wait. The longer I can put off 90-degree days the better, give me ALL the snow and rain!

Oh absolutely; they're playing into the fandom's desire ensuring Sprigatito remains quadripedal, but holy crap I got way too excited for a regional variant of Relicanth lmao

It has been 99 where I moved to, already. Record highs for this time of year. It's real good for the fatigue and chronic illness**

**dear reader It is the opposite of good

Regional forms are legit one of my favourite additions to Pokémon. It’s such a cool way to sell this idea of a connected world and I wish they had introduced them much sooner.
