Its the first time after five years straight that there hasn't been an Indie direct in the Feb-April period.Big oof
Mario + Rabbids. Splatoon isn't technically holiday, but it could also count given that it's releasing close to the holidays.I dont expect a Zelda Blowout. There is to much in between to clear up. We have a rough outline for the rest of the year.
We COULD get to september with soem twitter anouncements.
Them clearing up that Xenoblade and Splatoon have switched could be an indication for that.
But besides pokemon, whats the big Holiday one? Bayo? does not feel like the BIG one, more like a "second tier" like Luigis Mansion.
FE? Did i miss something?
Im currently pretty out of the loop what to expect from nintendo in the next year.
Oh, yeah, that one... (aso you can quess, im not a fan, and dont find it exciting...not because the game is bad,Mario + Rabbids. Splatoon isn't technically holiday, but it could also count given that it's releasing close to the holidays.
Splatoon and Xenoblade isn’t an indication for twitter announcements. Nintendo wasn’t going to wait until June to announce Xenoblade was releasing a month later. We will have our normal June direct.I dont expect a Zelda Blowout. There is to much in between to clear up. We have a rough outline for the rest of the year.

I feel bad for the people that lost their jobs first and foremost. Its the first time after five years straight that there hasn't been an Indie direct in the Feb-April period.
The Indie World twitter is still active, but I wonder if the California branch closing had any effect on the usual schedule for these things.

Do we count September as close to the Holidays?Mario + Rabbids. Splatoon isn't technically holiday, but it could also count given that it's releasing close to the holidays.
imo September through November is a loose "Holiday Season" timeframe as far as major game releases go.Do we count September as close to the Holidays?
yeah I guess thats fair, I always saw it as Late October onward. Either way Splatoon will definitely get another big bump on the holidaysimo September through November is a loose "Holiday Season" timeframe as far as major game releases go.
I concur, it would be a nice surprise that we get a May direct instead, Geoff be damnedI'm bored of waiting. Nintendo can unleash the Direct now.
I wouldn't really count September as Holiday for Nintendo. Nintendo usually has a big September regardless of what they release between October-December.imo September through November is a loose "Holiday Season" timeframe as far as major game releases go.

IMO the way to think about "Holiday Season" is that it is the Season between the two major holidays: Halloween and New Yearsimo September through November is a loose "Holiday Season" timeframe as far as major game releases go.
Wouldnt it be Black Friday and Christmas/New Years? Black Friday seems to be a bigger event sales wise than Halloween (I know Black Friday isnt that big outside of USA/Europe but that’s the same case with Christmas)IMO the way to think about "Holiday Season" is that it is the Season between the two major holidays: Halloween and New Years
That’s due to Golden Week , even if It’s Japan only holidays everything that’s global gets paralized due to it.Nintendo is very quiet on social media lately... no post or something

I just wanted to call Halloween a major holiday lolWouldnt it be Black Friday and Christmas/New Years? Black Friday seems to be a bigger event sales wise than Halloween (I know Black Friday isnt that big outside of USA/Europe but that’s the same case with Christmas)

The Galaxy games are my favorite 3D Marios so I would be super hyped. But I actually want Odyssey 2 more, since it has more potential for iteration and improvement due to not having a sequel yet.Speaking of Galaxy.
Lots of talks about new 3D Mario recently. Whether or not it's gonna be Odyssey-style, or go the Bowser's Fury route or be something more off-kilter ... etc.
What would people feel if the next 3D Mario is Galaxy 3?
Yep. Can’t wait to see a lot more of it next month!I can't wait to see more Mario + Rabbids 2 if only because it means more Galaxy-adjacent content
At Ubisoft's... Connect? I think they call them Connects?Yep. Can’t wait to see a lot more of it next month!
yeah Mario Rabbids 2 is guaranteed a spot for sureYep. Can’t wait to see a lot more of it next month!
Yeah I guess that was the best name they could come up with…At Ubisoft's... Connect? I think they call them Connects?
Mmhhhmmm especially with Nate saying it’s looking good to come this year now.yeah Mario Rabbids 2 is guaranteed a spot for sure
Next week will have the MHR presentation and will probably have a Strikers trailer so it should be nice. After that its a matter of waiting for announcements for the June direct and pokemon presents which could fall in May or JuneI know it’s Golden Week but combined with a slow and dull work week maaaan this week has been dead. I’m hoping that post-holidays Nintendo has something juicy for us next week and we really start the pre-June buildup
I forgot about MHR, there’s that and also financials on the 10th, so we’re getting stuff to chew on next week for sureNext week will have the MHR presentation and will probably have a Strikers trailer so it should be nice. I would be overjoyed on another level if the next 3D Mario is Galaxy 3. It's my most wanted game sequel of all time.Speaking of Galaxy.

Yes please.Speaking of Galaxy.

I’d love a Galaxy 3. The Galaxy games are still my favorite 3D Marios due to how creative they can be, and how they can do so much with almost puzzle-platforming mini-challenges. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Odyssey as well and it was also bursting with creativity but I think there’s still a ton they could do with Galaxy.Yes please.
I really like Odissey and it's "open-world" nature, but it would be a nice change of pace for a Mario game to return to the levels of the galaxy games; i think there are less restraints on the creativity of the levels.
Yeah, Odyssey has a lot of pottential. Man, i bought the expansion forever ago, only 3 months ago found a cheap copy of 2, and now am playing the single player... im still kinds strugling with the controlls, but the singleplayer is obviously just a tutorial for the game.I think there's a lot more to do with the Odyssey formula, we've only scratched the surface.
I really like Mario Galaxy too, but today I found a lot of what I loved about Galaxy in Splatoon. The Octo Expansion is clearly a masterpiece that reminds me a lot of Mario Galaxy, from the gameplay creativity to the great level design.
Oh, yeah. Everything Galaxy does special can be replicated in Odyssey... and actually the other way around to i feel. The question is, what style do they want to be the dominant one... i hope Odyssey.I feel like it would be easy enough to blend Galaxy and Odyssey gameplay. Odyssey already had those special areas where you were transported to some surreal dimension obstacle course for some of the moons. You could expand those out and get even crazier with them while also providing big open environments to explore in the main worlds.
I think there's a lot more to do with the Odyssey formula, we've only scratched the surface.
Walking into it, I definitely want to see open world Mario the most right now (bigger Bowser’s Fury), but I’d still be bouncing off the walls with hype if we got a Galaxy 3.Speaking of Galaxy.
