I think I’m gonna dig out my laptop again. I got it mainly to play some older games. I’ve stopped playing on it much due to the headaches in general

I am hoping to try and be on it more again until the steam deck at least.

in my experience you can achieve basedhood through a combination of shitposting, irreverence, adversity, and embracing duality while peeling back the curtains on the hyperobjects and knowing the interconnectedness of all things. Then watching the cause and effect of those things, and believing in what you want for yourself and others.

but it’s a treacherous path. beholding and becoming conviction is used by dickbags all the time β€” in the name of the self, to the harm of others. Or is used cruelly β€” to ignore that people are the means and ends of a belief in better.

Which is why you can’t skip the shitposting / irreverence combo, and you can’t just be stubborn without at least a peek at the hyperobjects.

it helps if there’s humor in it with a kernel of truth for the things that don’t matter a lot but still kinda do

I got myself a pretty good gaming laptop a couple weeks ago; and i've been dumping a bunch of my retro stuff on it to play on emulators.

I got Majora's Mask N64 running with HD textures made by the youtuber Nerrel, as well as OoT3D and MM3D, and TP, running on 4k texture packs. Man, I love it; it's like experiencing the games brand new again. I've only really gotten into PC emulators within the past year or so and it's like discovering a whole new world of gaming.

Next thing I'm going to do is install Cemu and get BotW running as nice as I can on it.

Well my flgs had a craft Sunday, and with my copy of X-men United still far out I decided to unshelve this partially at least. tho I forgot the imperial officers I was going to do, decided to get over my worries by going minimal details and I think they turned out ok. Commander dude could use a wash on some parts tho(Wookiee is 3 color layered tho)

Already swapped these out for the imperial officers in my Plano tho(I’m not dealing with the extra case of washes for this event). So I’ll probably do those next week in Olive green, gray and undecided(can’t do white on black but not sure if I want to keep it black or not)

Now to play some 13 sentinels

Metroid Dread: 3.5M WW / 250K Japan (3rd best selling Metroid in Japan btw)
Pokemon Legends lower than SWSH (no holiday season) = 12M WW / 4M Japan (legs have been mediocre for mainline Pokemon in Japan but amazing in Europe)
Kirby FL= 2M WW / 800k JP (this is the one I just really gave a random number LOL)
Mario Party Superstar= 8M WW / 2.25m (expect steady growth from the 5.7M last quarter)

Went game hunting to yet another place today called Frank & Sons. Pretty awesome place with a lot of collectibles of just about anything you can imagine. Managed to purchase complete GameCube games I didn’t have which included Resident Evil, Resident Evil Zero, Super Mario Sunshine, and Wave Race: Blue Storm. I was very close to getting 1080 Avalanche but when I checked the disc it had writing on it so I passed. Also got Metroid: Other M (used to have it, let a friend borrow years ago and never got it back) and finally found a still sealed copy of Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

So in total between yesterday and today I added all of these to my collection:

Really hope Switch Sports does well.

To me the series represents one of the best aspects of Nintendo; their contribution to making gaming more inclusive, more accepted in mainstream culture, and something that can be a joyous shared social experience.
Playing Wii Sports Resort with my mother who'd never played a video game before and both of us cheering, laughing, and crying out in triumph or dismay is one of my fondest memories as a gamer.
 
I hate that so many people are thinking COVID is over. Especially parents of kids that can't get their vaccines.

Shit is scary as a dad of two.

In general, specials are OP and long ranged stuff is more difficult to deal with in 1. It's very similar overall though.

I've also heard people like that campaign better but honestly I don't really remember it.

For the most part, Splatoon 2's hero mode, isn't really worse than Splatoon 1's, it's just kind of a retread without many new ideas, and the one big new idea it does have (letting you use other weapon types without scanning amiibo (in retrospect, the amount of content Splatoon 1 locks behind amiibo is really pushing it)) got kinda grindy.

That said, Splatoon 1 Octavio >>>>>>>> Splatoon 2 Octavio.

Can confirm, Canadian grass is amazing. The sky, too. My friends are always weirded out by the fact that I was so blown away by Saskatchewan (because I'm from California which Californians think is the peak of everything) but I dunno how to explain to them that they just don't understand how different the grass and the air and everything just feels up there.

If you went the way I think you did it’s at least a beautiful spot. Washington grass is basically the same and is great to touch.

Really well said. My son is 5 and just getting into gaming. We had a ton of fun playing Kirby, but today we played tennis and chambarra in Nintendo Switch Sports, and the smile and laughter coming from him made it a really special moment - one only Nintendo and gaming can provide.
 
Lots of blue ocean games on sale this week. Can get ACNH ($40), Mario Party Superstars ($40), Clubhouse Games ($30), and Big Brain Academy ($20) from most retailers. These get my seal of approval. Couple any or all of those with switch sports, and you are set for great local multiplayer all year.

The hype and love surrounding the Wii Sports series was something that always eluded me. I of course got the game with my Wii and I definitely had fun playing it with friend and family. But it wasn't a cultural touchstone like it was for other people. Fun during your first year in college, especially when getting the ladies involved (They seemed less impressed when you bought out Halo 3...). But when Wii Sports Resort came out, I had no interest. Never picked up the game. Funny enough, I really like the peripheral stuff around the gameplay in the Wii Sports game. The music is great. I did the interior designs. Wuhu Island sounds like a pleasant place and I like the stage in Smash.

My grandpa was featured in the local news because of Wii Sports. He participated in his retirement homes Wii Bowling league. They interviewed him and funnily, his comments were about how while the game was fun, he preferred playing actual sports like softball lol. I won't post the video here because it would be easy to identify him and therefore, my family's name. But I do have it saved in my favorite on Youtube. It's the only way to hear his voice now since he's no longer with us.
