Guys, you heard it here first directly from me: Nintendo has an unannounced game coming out after June this year. Shocking I know, but I have an inside source: my avatar squirrel lives in the trees at NOA and sends me leaks in exchange for nuts
whoah, is this person reliable?

Is there a chance Astral Chain 2 can happen without platinum? I cant think of a team to tackle the game unless they change the genre

Platinum has to survive after Bayo 3 releases for that
PG is getting paid it doesnt matter if Bayo 3 bombs. It could only maybe make Nintendo rethink if the partnership is worth it.

And Astral Chain is a Nintendo IP, so Platinum's future doesn't matter that much. If it's not Platinum, then Nintendo would work with some other studio to develop the game. Astral Chain had good sales and it's a natural candidate for a sequel imo

If it was any other company instead of Nintendo I’d agree , but I don’t see Nintendo giving the IP to any company that isn’t PG , they always want their games to be made by the original teams if possible and in this case even if it’s a Nintendo IP is linked to PG no other company makes this style of games other than maybe Capcom. Only in the case of Taura leaving PG and making his own studio with other PG employees I’d imagine they would give to a non-PG dev team the IP.

Koei Tecmo would also be a reasonable candidate imo

Team Ninja would be a good candidate yeah. They were behind Other M, Ninja Gaiden 3 and MUA3. But I think Taura is currently working on Astral Chain 2, he was thinking of ways to develop a trilogy if the game was a success.

I need Astral Chain 2 to happen. Don't see why it would be done by anyone other than Platinum and Taura. I don't think Nintendo acquired the IP for the purpose of assigning development to someone else.

I love the Treehouse events they held around the E3 Direct, I do hope they bring them back again.

They should just brand the Direct/Treehouse days as Spaceworld 2022 and bring that back!

It doesn’t matter if they get paid & the rest of PG is still a complete mess. The issue facing PG is that they have made exceedingly poor decisions over the last three years that has resulted in games not being released, poor quality, niche, or a combo of the three. Remember their independent seven points that turned out to be nothing.
I'm really not sure if they'll do a tree house segment with no E3. I'm 50/50 on it
They’ve done it before online but not sure if they still wanna do it that way again. I guess we’ll see since I doubt they’ll join Keighley’s thing; he’ll just slot them in there like they were apart of it.

Also I think during the pandemic they did a couple of individual game streams to show them off. So, Nintendobhas options depending on what they wanna do.

Nintendo seems to be on the rocks with Keighly ever since Reggie left, they don't really show up at TGA at all. That being said if Nintendo wants to attach their June direct to something to justify a treehouse, they certainly could attach themselves nominally to Keighly's thing

Is PG really a mess as a whole as studio or just some teams? Because Taura team hasn't had any miss yet and it seems most of PG bombs have been from minor titles (Sol Cresta), crowfunded (B101) or another studio taking the hit financially (Babylon's Fall). It's not a Level-5 case where we know they have been downsizing due to low sales , I wouldn't say they are in a bad financial state yet until either Nintendo or Tencent (especially Nintendo now that SE is making Nier in-house) cuts relationships with PG and stops providing money, losing SE parternship will hurt heavily though.

I'd be willing to bet we're getting something next week, even if it's just a Strikers trailer or something along those lines. It's the week after Switch Sports launches, so that's out of the way, but still a week before the financials, so they have a small window to fit in one more thing prior to that.

It's golden week in Japan next week, a major holiday season. I don't think we should except anything during this period.

That was all Reggie since the two had a connection. Without him they just largely ignore Keighly. If Nintendo wants to do a Treehouse they can do it without him since they did a few during the pandemic.

I mean does that sound like just some teams or the studio in general struggling. Because it sounds like the studio overall is just struggling.
Between projects that are taking way too much time or just unappealing to losing out on making games like Nier & Granblue.

The more concerning note is their recent interview about being acquired. Since their initial founding was about being independent to now sure with the caveat that we have freedom.
Tag this with talk about the next game being gaas and Kamiya’s next big project there is concern about how well they’ll do, especially as a self-publisher.

Last year, the June Direct was announced on June 2nd, thirteen days before the presentation itself. If this Summer Direct happens in June, it will probably follow a similar timeline. I'm hoping for a multiple-day Treehouse, especially if they plan to give BOTW2 a big blowout. The fact that there is no E3 this year doesn't look like a big deal, last year's E3 was only a digital event and we had a Treehouse segment anyway...

the announcement was early solely because of E3 though, if its just a plain direct they can just do normal direct announcement timing

If it's a multiple-day event, they should announce it with some time in advance so we can all prepare for it accordingly.

(And no, this has nothing to do with with the fact that i already scheduled my vacations for two specific June days (14th and 15th) and i'm concerned with the possibility of Nintendo announcing a Direct+Treehouse at June 7th or another date to air the following day... nooooothing to do whatsoever)

Dragon Quest X offline release date for Japan and the West (even if different) will be shown in the next Direct. That’s my prediction

Metroid is now made by a Spanish studio, F-Zero X was made by SEGA. It's not unheard of, but it would be weird for Nintendo to release a sequel to Astral Chain (which was only a moderate success) without the game's original developers -which was pretty much the reason we all bought into Astral Chain: it was a new Platinum Games developed game on Switch-.

Metroid/F Zero were made originally by Nintendo EPD , only after EPD teams had no interest/were not able to make games for these franchises due to preferring working on other projects these franchises were developed by 3rd partiess. In Astral Chain case PG would always be the 1st option to make the game , is there any case where an IP/series made in most part with collaboration with a 3rd Party has got sequels not made by the third party? I think all have stayed with the original developers

Hoping to see more Bayo 3 and after seeing one of the above posts, Kid Icarus Uprising Remake.

If we're only getting a regular June direct, there's no way in hell they won't show Bayo 3, which is great mainly because I'm a little worried about it. It was clearly stuck in development hell, and the new trailer isn't anything special. It spent far too long on a jokey intro and wasn't as colorful and sexy as Bayonetta usually is.
Bayo 2 was already somewhat lacking with its story, going way overboard on references to the original, so I hope the series won't get worse. The original Bayonetta is a masterpiece and it constantly amazes me how literally every cutscene is extremely funny and/or cool.

Having Rogue Squadron in your wishlist instantly gives you a permanent boost of +9 Charisma.

EDIT :
I really want the Prime Remaster to be real. Just to hear that main menu theme once again (and would kick ass for a reveal trailer).

Monolith has very little interest in returning to X or remastering X.

Intriguing. I don’t sense any falsehood in your words. However, it contradicts Kojima’s (Xenoblade series producer) statement about the team’s desire to revisiting X. I know Emily previously stated that Monolith Soft chose to develop Xenoblade 3 instead of porting X (and probably a sequel).

Interviewer: As for Monolith Soft, as Xenoblade 2 wraps up, What sort of direction do you want to go in the future?

Kojima: We want to keep the numbering for the Xenoblade series going. So…The game before this one was Xenoblade X, and we want to take good care of that too. So we want to get Xenoblade 3 out, but also a 2 for cross (X). But if we keep doing numbered titles, it’s gonna get stale, so we want to do something completely original too. And if we say “Hey, Mitsuda-san’s talents would be appropriate for this,” we’d like to work with him again.

So now that the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase is set for Mid June, where E3. Usually is, am now certain that Nintendo will do a Big Direct with Treehouse Live following…

Probably, but they will announce it way later than the rest and people will doompost about Nintendo not having a June direct. I can see the future and I know it to be true

So, what's the most likely candidates for - if there is any - Treehouse spotlight? Xenoblade, Splatoon and maybe BotW2? Probably FE: Three Hopes too, that's releasing shortly afterwards, right?

Talking about Treehouse Live, I think Nintendo should have one after every Direct so they can show off some of the games outside of their trailers.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Splatoon 3, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, and Live A Live feel like good candidates for a Treehouse Live. Anything else will probably be games that are announced during the Direct.

Last year we had Metroid Dread, Mario Party Superstars, SMTV and MH Stories 2, so yeah BOTW2, Xenoblade and Splatoon would be the most likely options, but it's going to be a mixture of already announced games and those that were announced on the Direct

Wait so do we think the announce the direct for before the launch of Strikers?(Meaning the 7th or 9th)

Speaking of FE, I think it's pretty likely we see a Treehouse segment (if treehouse is a thing this year) on the new mainline game if it's announced.

It got brought up earlier in the thread so for the record, this month’s Persona announcement is for another livestreamed concert in October (last one was super good). Next announcement is in June. May be cool, may not be.
