never, Iβd say. like a really bad review score might make me hesitate on something, but I usually know if I want something or notI know this isn't representative of the entire market (enthusiast forum and all that), but how many of you regularly buy games based on review score alone?
"Language" feels like a misnomer for something that has the express purpose of being comically incomprehensible.Legalese is a whole different language.
The game is still not available on the european eshop lol..Dying light has been a blast so far. Still early in the story and survived my first night. I may do some side stuff because itβs one of those rare open world games I feel compelled to do more. At least to hold me by before Kirby since I am not expecting my copy on time anyway
Almost never. I'm to the point now, and have played enough games, that I nearly always already know whether or not I'm going to like something before I play it and I'm very rarely wrong.I know this isn't representative of the entire market (enthusiast forum and all that), but how many of you regularly buy games based on review score alone?
Basically never? The text itself matters more and if the general public agrees or not. Also there are certain games that score very well, like Elden Ring, that I 100% know arenβt for me no matter how effusive the praise is.I know this isn't representative of the entire market (enthusiast forum and all that), but how many of you regularly buy games based on review score alone?
Was it that the game reviewed well but people actually didn't like it or is the opposite? My advice is to look at reviews for fun and then remember that GS radiant dawn happened
Game is and was well loved by the fanbase. Reviews were avg all across but that gamespot review was something special lolWas it that the game reviewed well but people actually didn't like it or is the opposite?
Some reviewer said the game needed to take advantage of the Wii hardware, specifically motion controls and/or Miis. It's hilarious to think how a Fire Emblem game would work with motion controls, like "shake the Wiimote to increase your critical hit ratio lol" or throwing fetch ball with your furry units. Was it that the game reviewed well but people actually didn't like it or is the opposite?

Oh man, I forgot how late the awards shows at GDC start when you're on the east coast. If I didn't have to be up for work in the morning I'd totally join you.

Oh wow, I saw "GS Radiant Dawn" and thought this was the third Golden Sun title, not Fire EmblemSome reviewer said the game needed to take advantage of the Wii hardware, specifically motion controls and/or Miis. I ironically believe that the part about Miis convinced Intelligent Systems to implement Avatars in FE12.
I never did that even as a kid, I always valued the words in the review over the number at the bottom. Nowadays I rarely even look at reviews since I generally know what I like and on the off chance I don't want to risk it I will just find people to talk to about the game vs reading or listening to a review now.I know this isn't representative of the entire market (enthusiast forum and all that), but how many of you regularly buy games based on review score alone?
Only partially!! Just the beginning and ending paragraphs! I'm basically doing the equivalent of an anime fan only watching OP/ED compilations, which as far as I understand is what a true anime fan does.Actually reading a review. Not a true gamer! Get out!
It kinda applies to it as well. Critics are harsh on Dark Dawn because they have a nostalgia high for the original. While not a10/10 game, the game has some of the most complex and unique summons for a DS game. Soundtrack on point, great post game bosses and a lovable cast.Oh wow, I saw "GS Radiant Dawn" and thought this was the third Golden Sun title, not Fire Emblem
whoβs on photoshopping thisBetter idea: a new Zelda where Mouthful Mode replaces the Shiekah Slate and other items.
That Kirby horse better show up out of the blue while exploring in BOTW2.whoβs on photoshopping this
Yup, Tellius visuals have SOULFE RD, has some of best stories and character beats of the series. Late game is amazing and troop diversity is a plus, in addition to replay value. I dont get why people hate on this and the gc one for their visuals, cause they look great.
Review scores have never mattered to me. I care more about the text of the review than the score they put at the end.I know this isn't representative of the entire market (enthusiast forum and all that), but how many of you regularly buy games based on review score alone?
Dying Light was like that for me too! An open world game I actually wanted to keep exploring. The parkour movement essentially turning the city into a big platforming playground was a huge help in that regard.Dying light has been a blast so far. Still early in the story and survived my first night. I may do some side stuff because itβs one of those rare open world games I feel compelled to do more.
No Yune on the model?Yup, Tellius visuals have SOUL
Can't wait for the inevitable video of someone beating the game using a Rock Band guitar.Imagine playing Elden Ring with just a D-pad

Donβt give Miyazaki any ideasImagine playing Elden Ring with just a D-pad
I'm so excited, just a few more weeks to go; I even managed to convince some family members who own Switches to get it.13 Sentinels month is here
Almost never, I usually research whatever interests me but review scores alone rarely influence my decisions. The few times I based my purchase on reviews I was left disappointed.I know this isn't representative of the entire market (enthusiast forum and all that), but how many of you regularly buy games based on review score alone?
Not regularly, and not really based on score aggregates, but reviews have gotten me to consider games I might not have otherwise. Hades is the example that jumps to mind immediately, I wouldn't have considered getting that game at all (not a huge roguelike fan) if it wasn't for the effusive praise it got on release. 13 Sentinels is a game I'm considering getting mostly because of how much praise it gets (though thanks to my recent playthrough of Ace Attorney I've decided I might like VNs. Small sample size though)I know this isn't representative of the entire market (enthusiast forum and all that), but how many of you regularly buy games based on review score alone?
Fair. You are never looking at the model up close, you get a side view. he laguz models have more SOULYup, Tellius visuals have SOUL
Ooooh, that was me a few months ago actually but they have since healed.who still β by some miracle β has two thumbs and seven to ten cuts from various mishaps in the past twenty-four hours?
Paramount is extremely weird.
Kirb Your EnthusiasmSo, Iβm still trying to determine the title for the Kirby ST. I was thinking something with the word βdimensionβ because the game is 3D and Kirby also travels to another dimension in the game. Any last-minute ideas?
Waddle (3)Dee World. I have no clue if this applies as I didnβt read any of the reviews, but it seems like that style of game to me.So, Iβm still trying to determine the title for the Kirby ST. hot tips to avoid my mistakes
- donβt be born with light neurological motor skill weirdness / glitching
- donβt shave your legs in a rush
- buy a dishwasher instead of a new knife that is both sharp and large
- keep using your hands as cat toys, obviously
- donβt take your glasses off before lying down in bed because sometimes there is a medium-small pane of glass from a picture frame just sitting there for legitimate reasons and your body is not made of air
- donβt think youβre smarter and more agile than the four bags of trash youβve decided to dumpster all at once
- donβt get startled easily by loud external sounds when playing a clarinet
- cardstock is the silent killer
