I don't get why people are bothering with prediction lists... If you look at the list of tracks in Mario Kart Tour and take out the Remix tracks, cut out the Variant tracks (which are being combined into one in MK8DX), and cut out the tracks that were already present in the base game for MK8DX; you're left with... exactly 48 tracks.

It's not hard to figure out what the rest of the 48 track-long MK8DX Booster Pass is going to consist of...

You can't really assume that--there are two tracks in Wave 1 that aren't currently in Tour.

There are 2 tracks in wave 1 not yet in Tour and there's going to be even more courses coming to Tour outside of the 2 tracks not in Tour yet so it's not as simple as that.

Bloopers are a much more deadly item than anything else at 200cc. I wish there were a way to avoid them like with blue shells. Blooper repellent or something. Maybe a raincoat or umbrella as an item? Idk

But they always end up ruining near perfect runs for me.
The piranha plant can eat them. Of course if you're near the top you're less likely to get the plant, but you can do something against the little pests

Looking at the banner again...

Anyone else see it? Just imagine the lava in the Double Dash track shot is a bright orange as Tour renders it.

I'd recommend checking out the threadmarked Tour tracklist instead of the Mario Wiki page; it isn't that simple :)

That list is a little outdated though. Bad news for people (like myself) who were hoping for Toad's Factory; but one of the conveyor belt objects datamined from Tour (BeltConveyor) is used for Coconut Mall's escalators in 8DX. Significantly decreases the chances for Toad's Factory; there's another conveyor belt object (ConveyorRoadTest) still unused but it isn't conclusive enough to be so certain of the track's inclusion in Tour anymore. I'll be removing it (and DS Cheep Cheep Beach, but that's irrelevant to 8DX speculation since it's already in that) the next time I update the image, when the next Tour starts (in case there's anything new to look at). Huge shame, since I was really hoping to see that one return, but i've had a bad feeling about it since the DLC dropped yesterday.

At some point I want to. I think what I want to do is to hold one in two weeks. Give people time to practice the new courses and to give Kirby some breathing room next week (totally not because I want to play it, lol).

It'll also give me some time to figure out how to actually host the tournament - and potentially figure out some sort of prize. Custom Fami Badges, perhaps?

I don’t know if there would be enough interest in this but we could do weekly tournaments

They could use the same belt conveyor object for both Coconut Mall and Toad's Factory though.

I'm really loving the new tracks. Most of them are great, and I find that some tracks can be really quite hard (specifically shroom ridge and ninja hideaway). I also find the easy track that is Toad Circuit to be quite relaxing and fun, just a nice course to drift your way to victory in 200cc.

So yeah, love that they finally decided to do DLC,and hopefully the rest of the courses in the pass are awesome as well.

Got my game in last night. Been playing through the older tracks to get my triple stars, but Ninja Hideaway is definitely the standout of the DLC.

I'm probably the only one who cares about this course but I hope they bring back Wii Daisy Circuit. It's a weaker Wii track, but it's still got a decent layout and solid aesthetics going for it. Plenty of places for them to spice it up if they wanted, though maybe they'd be better off waiting on MK9 for that.

Also, three of the cup leaks have a Wii course in the #2 slot, and there aren't many Wii courses that would fit as the second course of a cup.

Hey, I ran the Mario Kart 64 tournament here a few months ago Just kindly ignore the fact it never finished :( If you want any suggestions on running the tournament feel free to ask me!

But yea I am absolutely down for a tournament.

A MK8 Tournament sounds like a lot of fun! I'd be down to clown too.

What. OMG how have I never once noticed this?!

Cool thank you! Man playing Shroom Ridge again is so nice and I never got aquatinted with Mario Kart Wii so it fells relatively new. These Tour stages are really interesting and I am having a lot of fun with them.

Choco Mountain though. That harmonic, that fog. For some reason I hated it in 64 but I am so in love and nostalgic right now! It’s the stage that puts everything over the top!

I played in a streamer's mini-tournament yesterday and that experience taught me I got rust to shake off before I dare enter a FamiTourney.

Ninja Hideout is humbling enough, but messing up easy corners on old familiar tracks because you approach them with no respect at all because last time you played you never had to show them any is true humiliation.

I still think that races with a full group of human drivers are the Achilles' heel of this game. The stop and go nature of these races, the constant interruptions are killing the flow of the races. At times, it’s just to much for me. That’s the one thing that would made the game immediately more enjoyable for me and because of that, I love the late hours here in Europe, when you get a good chance for smaller groups. Six people are more than enough in my eyes.

They could, it doesn’t at all mean the course can’t happen, but it’d be wrong to say it was datamined from Tour now when one of two potential hints at it was used elsewhere, and the other has a ‘Test’ suffix meaning it may not even be used.

If they add a bulldozer object down the road and the filename has the suffix ‘wiitf’ then things change; but for now it just isn’t as definitive as I thought before.

Thoughts on the first wave:
Overall I think the first wave is pretty good. The music is on par with the base game and there's some great tracks too. (Shroom Ridge and Ninja Hideaway are my favs)

However, there's a couple things I'd change too:
-The cars in Coconut Mall should be moving, that section is now kinda boring.
-There should be more boulders falling in Choco mountain (or more random falling)
-Tokyo Blur feels bland imo, the changing laps are cool, but the track itself is really empty. It's just road

Unpopular opinion but I find 3ds rainbow road music to be really boring, never really feels like it does much. Wii Rainbow road music is the true top tier.
I don't remember Wii's RR music too much but 3DS RR is weirdly emotional to me. Lots of layers and it's in an emotional key.

Same. The sound of those drifting keyboard tones get to me. They're befittingly spacey and strangely melancholic at once. And I love how the theme builds up and draws out giving you the notes. The 3DS music for the first two laps exploding into the N64 Deluxe remix in all its bombastic celebratory glory on the final lap would be my perfect Rainbow Road track.

3DS Rainbow Road is nice but I'm pulling more for 3DS Bowser's Castle. There's a very distinct vibe to it that the other Bowser's Castles don't have.

It's a little weird that 8DX has three Rainbow Roads but only one Bowser's Castle. If anything, I'd expect to see more of those added in the DLC.

Yep, 12 human controlled players is generally a mess and winning rarely comes down to any actual skill. The game is at its best with 8 players.

I really wish the online allowed for some type of limiting on what you want to play, like Smash Bros. does. If I could do 8 players 150cc only I’d probably never stop playing. Or occasionally do some races with items off (or certain items turned off) — today I had a bullet bill pass me to take second place — come on.

Said I wasn't going to update it for a few more days but i'm getting impatient and already posted it elsewhere, lol.

RIP Toad's Factory; i'll still hold out hope for you making it in anyway :(

Not marking the other SNES Mario Circuit tracks as redundant just yet because we don't know which one 8DX is really getting.

I think we'll end up with two BCs in the pass. Previously I would've said GBA (any of them) and N64, but now it seems like GCN has a solid chance.

It's really weird how little 3DS tracks seem to be coming to the game. That's a big source of tracks in Tour, where Nintendo is getting most of these tracks from. It doesn't make any sense. I'm betting most of the "unknown" courses are from that game.

I'm curious - what are the fan favorites from MK7, and which ones would people really want for the Booster Course Pass? Rainbow Road and Bowser's Castle, I get that. I liked how unique Wario Shipyard was (though we're probably ain't getting that), and the Wuhu Island tracks are cool for their length. What else is left that people really love?

Personally I would have taken Mario Circuit over Toad Circuit, but that ship has sailed.

Me personally I 100% want Rock Rock Mountain. Then it’s Bowser Castle, Mario Circuit, Daisy Hills and Maka Wuhu in that order for me. Weird we are seemingly only getting two more. I think a Wuhu course is very likely.

I would have chosen any other 3DS track over Toad Circuit, but we did need more beginner friendly tracks and it does play well here so it’s nice to have.

Shy Guy Bazaar is the other regular suggestion I see. Apparently it was planned for vanilla 8's DLC at some point? Hope it gets a shot this time though.

Think about it this way: if your favorite course isn’t added to the Booster Pass that just makes it more likely to get the full, ground-up Retro Track treatment in the next Mario Kart.

Before the leak, I was already predicting Rock Rock Mountain for the Rock cup because I love the track (I wanted it for base 8) and because Nintendo occasionally likes to be on the nose. With the leak, the last course in the rock cup is from Mario Kart 7 so….👀

Incidentally, @IntelliHeath the prediction contest thread got locked. Is the contest still on? Will the thread open up again when wave 2 gets announced so people can talk about how they are feeling?

Since a handful of tracks have leaked thanks to the datmined banner, and the prefix leak would allow for easier guessing for each cup, predictions are now closed. That's what I believe Heath is doing at least.

Yeah I figured new guesses weren’t allowed once those came up. Thought it’d be a fun thread to continue track speculation with more info coming out.

Also I’d like to give a big kiss to whoever decided to make baby park zero gravity

Tho if would have been cool if it started normal for the first lap then the attraction “turned on”

So, Ninja Hideaway on 200cc...

That was, uh. Rough. Such a massive difficulty spike compared to the rest of the Lucky Cat Cup.

Played through both the new cups. It had been three years or so since I last played, and I had forgotten just how great Mario Kart 8 is! With all the courses from this DLC, it's definitely the best Mario Kart overall.

A nice lineup of stages for the first two cups. Loved going back to Choco Mountain! That's my favorite of the first wave.
