I accidentally followed a game rumor link to comicbook.com and immediately had to burn the tab, splash holy water on my computer screen, and perform an exorcism. That website is hot garbage.
 
Just saw I had a "Kirby Pre-Order Confirmation" email and, damn, I am so glad that game is coming out the time it is.

After the likely 50+ more hours I'll put into Elden Ring over the next few weeks, the idea of playing a relatively short, incredibly-easy and cute game is very, very enticing. It's like getting into a warm bed and having breakfast served to you in the morning after partaking in a full-length marathon over hot coals and Lego.

This is why I'm looking forward to diving into Triangle Strategy soon. Not that the game is easy, I don't think, but it being purely turn-based and with a lot of narrative is going to make it such a change from Elden Ring it'll be some very nice variety.

I got hooked into triangle strategy this evening. Loving it so far , only on chapter 7 so far

It's definitely scratching that fire emblem itch for sure
 
Does anyone here know if there are any kind of third-party alternatives to the Toy-Con Car or Toy-Con Motorbike? Like, essentially the same thing but made with a sturdier material like plastic or something? I’ve got the sudden urge to use them with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe since it’s compatible, but I worry about using the cardboard originals with a puppy around now, lol. I didn’t find anything from a quick web search but I figured I may as well ask here just in case. I always expected some third-party company to make sturdier alternatives to Toy-Con but maybe that just never actually happened…?

Games have finally reached the point where art direction is a deliberate choice and we're finally past the point of "which game pushes the graphics hardware the hardest" being a deciding factor when it comes to reviews. That lo-fi 2D games are just as viable as glorified 3D tech demos for new engines and hardware is a huge improvement over the mid-to-late 90's in my book.

Yeah, I'm at the point where even "low end" graphics can look great to me provided the art direction is on point.

My first video game was Starfox on SNES, and I remember being wowed by the graphics of N64 games like Banjo Kazooie as a kid, so graphics have come so incredibly far just in my relatively young lifetime that plenty of games others might scoff at today are visually pleasing to me.

I see a lot of folks saying how dated Switch looks, but to me stuff like Metroid Dread, Mario Odyssey, or Kirby and the Forgotten Land look awesome. Heck, speaking of Wii U graphics, the likes of Mario Kart 8 and Captain Toad in glorious 720p are still very appealing to my eyes all these years later.

Personally, I don't need 4K or raytracing, today's "low end" Switch games are still beyond my wildest dreams as a kid.

The switch has definitely put out some good stuff graphically on its own. Then there are third party games like crysis that look good on their own as well for it.

I also just treated myself to some foods that may or may not cause a headache on me, homemade fried chicken. Haven’t had something like this in quite sometime and it was something the family put together today.

Breading on foods is what I believe is a cause for headaches. Probably not the cause, but at least sets some of them off
 
Nothing in May but Capcom Fighting Collection, AI Nirvana Initiative, and FE Warriors Three Hopes on the same exact day in June.

Soul Hackers 2 looking even better. Don't need to see anymore. Gonna most likely pick it up SO LONG AS IT ISN'T RIGHT NEAR XENOBLADE 3.

No piece of media is getting in my way for that.

  • new WoL area with 4 bosses
  • all characters gets 2 new alts
  • online gets a competitive mode with rollback network, only 1vs1 battles.
  • no previous paid dlc included (FP1/2 and all mii costumes)
  • Switch Next upgrades like 4k resolution and RT
