Hey everyone, staff have documented a list of banned content and subject matter that we feel are not consistent with site values, and don't make sense to host discussion of on Famiboards. This list (and the relevant reasoning per item) is viewable here.
Good. Arceus is really fun. My daughter's birthday party(ies) is(are) over and I don't need to bake any secret cakes for at least a week so I can finally relax.
Plus my self-imposed OP duties are done which is nice.
The only reason I feel like you could argue the 360 is more SNES-like than the PS2 is that, if I recall correctly, the PS2 in a lot of ways was purposefully made hard to develop for so it would be harder for developers to port their own games. Which I don't think was a goal of the SNES, obviously, and as far as I know wasn't the case with the 360.
Honestly tho, the PS2 and Xbox 360 are probably more alike spiritually than they are like the SNES, perhaps obviously. Especially the "slowly lose exclusives over the course of the gen as more and more games get ported to new systems" part.
Do walk us through your range of emotions. Were you crushed at the delay? Were you confused because you don't remember the game being announced? Were you happy because you thought there actually was official news about Xenoblade Chronicles 3? What was in like during those two seconds of your life?

LoL, I felt hope achieved, I felt relieved and it was the most amazing 2 seconds ever and then thankfully instead of despair, I just went for the luls. Awesome title.
I finally finished Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Pretty good. Rex was adorable as was his waifu and that made the story really cute. Really liked the other characters too. Brighid manages to turn that dress into the the pinnacle of elegance. Loved the use of regional accents. Great locations of course, even Mor Ardain in context (ugly on its own, but good as a bit of variety).
Once you get into the swing of the things, the combat is quite satisfying, though it really is a risk/reward thing. The philosophy of do the thing to set up the thing to set up the thing to set up the thing culminating in the big smackdown chain attack is super awesome when you pull it off, but when it goes wrong (for example but not limited to boss uses one hit kill attack taking out a party member seconds before you were about to initiate it, fuck you Zeke), it... well it doesn't feel good. But the way the chapter 5 boss went down? Awesome as they say. Also chapter 9 boss. Didn't expect that to go so smoothly.
And three cheers for the Switch and its (almost) smooth docking and undocking. Being able to pull the console out of the dock so I can take it with me to do other things around the house while the cutscenes play is great. I got so much housework done while playing this game.
The IGN guide is useless, sort of. It said to do the orb thing until he summons servants. Except the cock does it right at the beginning of the second phase. I finally did it by ignoring the servants and being able to squeeze out a dirty blade combo with pneuma for a not quite sufficient chain attack where fortunately a couple of specials afterwards were enough to finish the job.
And this was on easy mode, which I been running on since the end of chapter 9 where an intermediate boss was ridiculously overlevelled and I took that with a similar dirty win. Looking up what easy mode does, I think it can actually do more harm than good in places.
Now I'm free! Not sure if I'd want to do Torna though. I hear they add even more layers to the combat.

Every day I get reminders of why I simply cannot put down SMB3. Down 3 games to 1 in the semifinals, basically wrote off game 5, won it anyway, won game 6, and now I'm soon to play a game 7 to decide who goes to the championship series.

Watching the timestamped video looks like there was a misunderstanding, they do said they heard rumblings on the bigger side but they explicitly said they were not teasing anything with the "it takes two to tango", and Jeff proceeded to clarify he meant that both sides involved in an acquisition of a certain size need to be in agreement, and mentions that due to market reasons and inflation and whatnot there's some "urge to tango"
LTTP as usual, but I just want to say great job on the new thread @Dardan Sandiego. I always love the start of a new thread, and this plus the Yacht Club Games Presents makes for a promising start to February, the month in which we will also get a Nintendo Direct
Companies with ventures other than video games won't get acquired by others. Konami's major income source is the gambling/pachinko machine production, would be an useless purchase for platform holders.
So would Sega, Namco and Square.
Capcom and Koei Tecmo are the pure video game companies.
Man, I so want this game to have decent controls and such. I love the vibes and ideas of JSR but that original game (can’t play Future ofc) is just… so jank. My delicate Early Gen Z sensibilities couldn’t handle more than a few missions.
