I unapologetically try to challenge why they think that way or said x thing and keep them accountable. or at least define clearly why something they said could either be harmful or make others think they’re supporting x y or z more overtly harmful take.

I used to try this, for years. The responses to my efforts became what I'm pretty sure counts as gaslighting (so glad to have learned that word last year, makes it easier to talk about). Eventually I had to take a page out of my Aussie bestie's vocabulary book and said "yeah nah" to a significant chunk of friendship.

as for falling out with friends, I’ve definitely tried to keep some pals in orbit who have said or done vary degrees of unchill shit (mostly tame — I do not have the energy or time in my life to deal with the worst examples).

Just finished HZD. Great game, but nothing life changing. Still contemplating if I buy the sequel at full price or just wait for the complete edition to be like 20 bucks like this one was.

How long do I have to wait before I get a booster shot? Only got the second shot of the vaccine a couple of weeks ago

6 months. Israel is currently trialing 4 months to see if that adds increased protection. Problem is we are t getting these shots to developing nations when we lower these intervals.

My girlfriend got diagnosed with ADHD within the past year or two and it was such an emotional moment. Same experience where suddenly she understood better why she reacted to situations they way she did, suddenly feeling angry that her life in school could have been so much easier with this knowledge if only someone was there to push her to get tested. It’s so sad that there are probably a lot of people fall through the cracks because society doesn’t take stuff like this seriously, or testing is prohibitively inaccessible/expensive, or just nobody ever takes the time to make sure someone isn’t neurodivergent. I like Arlo, always seemed pretty genuine. Hope he gets support he needs.

Skyward Sword HD on Switch was my first time experiencing the game and I honestly love the game. Amazing dungeons, funny and lovable characters (The Legend of Groose baby) and of course the soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal.

But damn...the soundtrack is also freaking clever.

I'm up early to see my mother off, and I can't help but remember waking up at 4:00 as a sophomore in college, heading to the floor's shared kitchen to microwave a bowl of oatmeal, forcing myself to eat most of it, then trudging over to the 24 hour wing of the campus library to do homework for a few hours before classes. But before I did any work, I always took a moment to catch up on my forum thread and update its original post as best I could. Yes, that was a very strange moment in my life.

And then you have all the kids who are not allowed to got out and play to get their energy out. Instead they are marked as ADHS and put on medicine. I’m personally affected since my oldest son is such a case. We were sent to psychs etc. then we moved teaching concepts with more activities in between the “just sit and listen” sessions. Problems solved.
For me ADHS is still an area where they don’t have a glue what they’re dealing with. This is obvious when you look at the spectrum of ADHS diagnosed persons.
It’s sad and often doesn’t help the person and/or family.

Kondo actually composed the opening music, where we see the backstory with the war that lead to Skyloft and everything. IIRC it’s the only piece of music he wrote for Skyward Sword.

I've just started Bayonetta for the first time. My god this game is hilariously fun. The cliches and smooth gameplay are really peak PS3/360 era. I need to finish so I can play 2 and will likely play 3 once it drops.

Speaking of mental issues, I had started developing these tics late this year. The kind I can sorta control but, like blinking, feel like I have to perform. I was worried it might have been a brain tumor or something. Luckily, the MRI I took didn't show anything of the sort.

However, my neurologist seems to think I might be under the autism spectrum. I've always had your basic speech and body language attributes typically found in autism so it wasn't really news to me. I thought I could get by as I usually copy mannerisms I see on tv as it used to help me go through the day, which in turn gives me an existential nightmare. Now that I'm older, I'm starting to not hide it as well as I used to. At least, I thought I hid it well.

It's still an unofficial diagnosis. I'm supposed to be meeting another doctor for it, but the best times for the appointment are early in the morning and those aren't the best times for me. Still, if I had known what autism was during my younger years, it would have helped me during my terrible experiences in school and life in general.

Another amazing Wii score. Add that as more evidence for @Raccoon thesis that Wii music is underrated and amazing. I personally rate this as #2 behind Wind Waker (I would have LTTP at the top but that is so foundational and doesn’t have a ton of tracks that I just exclude it from those discussions).
