Eiffel 65...???? Oh my......It's nearly 2am on the East Coast of the US. Most normal people here are asleep so I was expecting EuroFami to be keeping this thread actives with tales of Eiffel 65, 3 month long holidays, football, farming simulators, and not getting Earthbound on SNES.
Totally forgot there is a new SaGa on the way, will be interesting to see what they do with it.Agreed, I'm far more excited for Triangle Strategy, the next SaGa, and whatever remasters SE has cooking up then FFXVI and Forspoken.
Hadn't there been a rumor about the Legendary Edition on Gamepass? I know it's still on the series s and you can't play it portably, but at least you could save some money.I am once again asking for Mass Effect Legendary Edition to come to Switch. Tempted by the half price sale on Series S, but with it being a longer game (and with the OLED screen), I'd rather have the option to easily play portably.
You and your mother are in my thoughts. Sending good thoughts.I apologize for being overly personal, but in the interest of disclosure I feel that it's important.
I will not be sharing any details of my plans for the Nintendo Direct Speculation thread until December 30. I understand that this is very late, but my mother is having an elective surgery on the 29th and if there are any complications, heaven forbid, I will likely not be running the thread. I apologize for this contingency.
I have been increasingly stressed about the procedure, so please excuse my absence in the coming days.
Hope you feel better soon and I'm glad it's seeming to not be COVID.Took a COVID test - negative, but I still feel like shit Reaaally don't want to go into work tomorrow but I can't really afford to take off another random two or three shifts after doing so earlier in the year.
Just want to stay in bed for like a week and play some SMTV and Guardians of the Galaxy, but alas I can't...

Sorry, it won't happen again.I feel like I've been unclear about my stance on discussing ResetEra in the past, so I'd like to take the convenient opportunity to do so. The only sort of ResetEra post that really bothers me is the kind that @Ozzie posted (sorry for using you as an example). Posting that a thread is going poorly or chastising their opinions from afar is so worthless and honestly just rude. It reminds me of the Discord culture that has been a problem since ResetEra's inception and directly contributed to the creation of Famiboards.
Half of you guys seem to still read ResetEra and even post there, so go fight them there! There's nothing for us to do here other than be judgmental towards the most harshly-judged website on the internet, deserved or not.
Let's see if they're part of the upcoming February direct.I am once again asking for Mass Effect Legendary Edition to come to Switch. Tempted by the half price sale on Series S, but with it being a longer game (and with the OLED screen), I'd rather have the option to easily play portably.
After a LOOONG time, i started the Symphony of the Mask DLC for Cadence of Hyrule.
The hell were they thinking? This is something not approachable if you aren't a cript of the necrodancer die hard fan, it's not even funny.
I said this before, and i say it again: COH is not a welcome ticket to Zelda fan for another kind of game, it's a Cript of the Necrodancer sequel with Zelda skins just to have more founds.
Yes, there had. If it happens it'd be a good option because I could still buy an eventual Switch version without needing to give EA my money twice.Hadn't there been a rumor about the Legendary Edition on Gamepass? I know it's still on the series s and you can't play it portably, but at least you could save some money.
It doesn't help that the price has gone down in the UK - £25 currently for the download which, given the amount of content, is pretty good.I'm close to giving up on it coming to Switch and caving on the Xbox version. The only reason I haven't done so yet is because I'm replaying a different trilogy (DQ).
This is sort of what I'm thinking of doing - I have more than enough to keep me occupied until then. I tend to associate this time of year with Mass Effect, probably given the fact ME2 launched in January (2010, sheesh I'm old) and my last few returns to the series took place around Christmas and New Year. Some conditioning is kicking in here.Let's see if they're part of the upcoming February direct.
It's obvious that some insiders (Grubb and Zhuge) know about the Switch version of ME Legendary but refuse to talk about it. Kinda baffling how it's easy to leak or talk about unannounced first party Switch games but everyone's quiet about the third party ones.
I feel like Tails doesn’t have the same urgency, more of a “gonna fly now” than a “gotta go fly”Gotta go fast
Gotta go fly
Gotta go fist
...this tracks, actually
there are some things that just need to be saidTrying to get more mod warnings in your own ST?
Nintendo: Switch will be in short supply in 2022 due to the chip shortage.
Internet: Nah, it’s just saturated.
TEW MUCH OF HYEAVEEEENIt's nearly 2am on the East Coast of the US. Most normal people here are asleep so I was expecting EuroFami to be keeping this thread actives with tales of Eiffel 65, 3 month long holidays, football, farming simulators, and not getting Earthbound on SNES.
There hasn't been a lightning rod of a release like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, no towering triple-A statements like The Last of Us Part 2 or showstoppers like Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Even the disappointments have been on a lesser scale; we've got the reliably unreliable Battlefield doing its best with 2042's botched launch, but it's never reached the same drama as Cyberpunk 2077's own belly-flop.
A low-key kind of year, then, which helps set up some more modest productions providing some of the biggest showstoppers of 2021. If you've love for more modest productions of a certain vintage, 2021's been packed with heartwarming returns
lol I swear that I edited that part to "move into the 8th generation," over a day ago You are right - the Switch is a weird half-way point between the PS3 and the PS4 generations, so it's technically progressed past that - but it's definitely not on par with the PS4/XB1.I mean, technically they already have.
7th gen is the PS3/360, Switch is beyond that both in the quality of its graphics and the kind of games it gets.
You wouldn't see stuff like Witcher 3, Dying Light, Luigi's Mansion 3, etc on 7th gen hardware.
Switch may not be a 4K powerhouse, but it has a GPU a decade more modern than PS3/360's in terms of features and 6 times as much usable RAM.
Honestly this year has been so much more interesting game-wise than last year or (probably) next year.Eurogamer's Martin Robinson hit the nail on the head about this year in gaming:
2021 in review: Samus returns, or how double-A games provided some of the year's big showstoppers
Hello! Over the next few days we're going to be going back over some of our favourite games and moments and themes and …www.eurogamer.net
Community GOTY voting is going to be interesting this year
This and Torna... I think i'm in action RPG heaven right now
Pretty sure Shadow's is "gotta go "nice cock!""so I know basically no Sonic lore first-hand but from what I understand, would Shadow be “gotta go fake” ?
also somebody please tell me there’s a Sonic character that works for “gotta go faust”
I know I'm not that knowledgeable about Sonic but this definitely sounds wrongPretty sure Shadow's is "gotta go "nice cock!""
Awesome! Yeah, that is a really memorable area and dungeon. The timeshift stone mechanic is genius.10 hours in, on the third dungeon now. And yeah, I'm in love with it. The dungeons, characters and bosses are really damn good. Great music too, especially like the Lanayru region music so far. Love that industrial/synth sound and the way it keeps changing with the way the time mechanic works.
As someone who does not particularly like Grimdark Vegetavoice The Hedgehog: ...yes.so I know basically no Sonic lore first-hand but from what I understand, would Shadow be “gotta go fake” ?
They'll just insist Nintendo deliberately under-shipped in order to create the illusion that it's selling out so it'll appear to be a hot item and therefore artificially drum up demand.I can already imagine people saying that even when it's literally impossible to find a Switch on shelves next year.
I mean, you even have industry analysts saying that Nintendo has unsold stock and they're just doing this to drum up demand so...Nintendo: Switch will be in short supply in 2022 due to the chip shortage.
Internet: Nah, it’s just saturated.
That means you haven't spent way too much time on the internetI know I'm not that knowledgeable about Sonic but this definitely sounds wrong
IIRC monster conversion rates in DQV were incredibly low. Like, you could go the whole game without recruiting anyone besides Purrcy.I love DQV but RNG is fucking me over hard. I just want a Jailcat that I will never use.
Honestly this year has been so much more interesting game-wise than last year or (probably) next year.
This year's Game Awards Best Game nominations had three cartoony 3D platformers (that are themselves very different to one another), a 2D Metroidvania, a Survival Horror and an Immersive Sim.
Next year we're almost guaranteed to see (if they all release on time and are good)
Elden Ring - A big budget open world action adventure game
BotW2 - A big budget open world action adventure game
Starfield - A big budget open world action adventure game
Horizon 2 - A big budget open world action adventure game
GoW: Ragnarok - A big budget slightly-more-linear open world action adventure game
And I'm sure they'll all be amazing games well-deserving of their nominations, but it most-definitely won't be as interesting.
IIRC monster conversion rates in DQV were incredibly low. Like, you could go the whole game without recruiting anyone besides Purrcy.
Hmmm which version? I feel like they probably changed the chances in some versions.I've only ever played the DS remake which felt okay but I never went for specific monsters. On this playthrough I already have 6 (Slime, Slime knight, Brownie, Dracky, Small fry, Rotten apple) without trying. It's just the friggin jailcat that I want.
Hmmm which version? I feel like they probably changed the chances in some versions.
bless your heartI know I'm not that knowledgeable about Sonic but this definitely sounds wrong
That post was mostly in the context of "what games get GOTY." As someone who's GOTY for 2019 was Sayonara Wild Hearts and 2020 was Umurangi Generation I know all about the wider world of interesting stuffMetroid Dread wasn’t announced until June 2021 (and Death’s Door wasn’t announced until March). There will be plenty of great games next year outside of AAA open-world experiences. We just don’t know about them yet.
