I was thinking... Are there fewer Kickstarter games than there were a few years ago? Or do I just not hear about them as much?
Can’t speak to the video game side, but for board games a lot of teams have moved over to things like BackerKit and Gamefound due to KS doing some dumb things in recent years like their public plan to support blockchain (which they walked back). There’s still a lot of crowdfunding going on but it’s no longer happening exclusively on KS.

It's sad how the Mighty No. 9 turned out to be, and Keiji Inafune's Compcept company flopping. At least IntiCreates delivered on a worthy spiritual successor to Megaman Zero/ZX
Inti also salvaged the character designs with the Mighty Gunvolt duology, and I’d be over the moon if they ever did a third one with a new set of bosses

Looking like that one character from Aah Real Monsters who held his eyeballs above his head in his hands.
It's this fella I call Handsome

Get it? Cause of all the hands?

And also how it attacks:

Just finished Sonic Adventure 2...

Now, do I post my experience with it in the '2024 Completed Games' thread, and risk invoking the Sonic fandom's wrath?

...I kid, of course. I'm just genuinely quite disappointed in it :(

Don't worry, it's honestly not one of my favorites either. It's the one that began the "well it's a good 1/3 of a game" trend for Sonic games with me.

Fuck it just posted.

Now to decide whether I actually want to play through my copy of Sonic '06, or just skip straight to Unleashed (only playing the ones I can actually play easily).

Are you

uh

aware of Sonic 06's reputation?

Did some work on one of my PC's this past weekend, upgraded the cooler on my 10900k from a Noctua D-15 to Arctic 420mm AIO with BeQuiet Silent Wings Pro4 fans. I also replaced the thermal paste on my 3070, after three years the factory stuff was totally dried up.. got dust everywhere..

The D-15 just wasn't cutting it, had gaming temps reaching near 90 with what I thought was only minor overclocks. Still need to really stress the new cooler but in short gaming sessions I haven't seen temps go above the high 60s.

Aware? I experienced it first-hand back in '06 itself. I was there to witness that proverbial fire.

Sonic '06 and Viva Pinata were the two games we got with the 360 for Christmas that year. The Viva Pinata disc didn't work, so for three post-Christmas weeks (before the disc was replaced), I was stuck with only Sonic '06 on the console. We didn't have a way to save either, so all I could do was replay the beginning level over and over. Then when Viva Pinata came back I moved to that and never booted it up again. Even then - with my not-even-10-years-old brain - I understood how bad it was.

ah, okay good. Just wanted to make sure you knew what you were getting yourself into. 😅

Nope, no skips allowed. Sonic 06 time. Buckle up, buddy.

funnily enough that was pretty much my experience with Sonic Adventure 2. When our parents got us a Gamecube, it came with Animal Crossing and SA2 Battle, but they didn't know memory cards were a thing (before that we had an N64 and all the games we had just saved to the cartridge)

Animal Crossing is virtually unplayable if you can't save, so my sibling and I got real familiar with the first couple levels of SA2 for a few weeks

Memory cards were awesome. If your memory card had all of the Smash Bros. Melee characters unlocked, you were one of the coolest people out there. "Bring a controller and your memory card" was something my friend and I told each other all the time before hanging out. If you were the only person to own a specific game, you were told to bring that too. Kids these days will never understand.

Oh shit, Sonic Heroes is available on PS3. Only £8 as well.

Guess I don't really have an excuse not to play it if I'm trying to play all 'easily available' Sonic games...

Loved the memory cards that Animal Crossing came with. Plus the exclusive letter from Nintendo + NES games they provided in-game for having it.

I still have my AC memory card. It's honestly one of my favorite gaming possessions 😁

There was one issue of Nintendo Power that came with a bunch of stickers you could append to your other memory cards. That was the best day ever.

OK what the fuck

I buy Sonic Heroes on PS3 (the PS2 version), and then literally minutes afterward I see the rumour of it potentially getting a modern remake.

Did I manifest this? Am I at fault here?
I’d take a port at least

Given how the PS2 version is far and away the worst version of Sonic Heroes, perhaps the world was doing you a favor?

It's time for people to start putting in requests. I'm going to need you to buy Xenoblade X, Xenosaga I, II, and III, Lost Odyssey, and Final Fantasy VI.

After playing the first three levels... I agree. Maybe it's the PS2 version being played on an old-ass Dualshock 3, but the controls here just plain-old don't work for me. It's like the deadzone for movement is a million miles, and you move just as much as that when the stick finally lets you actually move.

Thanks :p

It was £8 wasted since, for the reasons above, I'm dropping the game (not too fussed about doing a whole-series playthrough).

Yeah, I think the game looks pretty good despite its low resolution (its vibrant landscapes help a lot), but it runs so bad and controls even worse.

Sorry, already bought all of those except for Xenosaga. My powers won't work on them.

Alright, Fami. I got vouchers because my daughter cried when the Peach demo ended. I bought Showtime, obviously. I planned to use the other to buy TTYD...but...I sold my physical copy of Splatoon 3 and have wanted to jump back in, especially with the new DLC.

What do you think? The game that makes everyone online act irrational or the game that makes some people online act irrational?

If you haven’t played TTYD before get the TTYD, otherwise Splatoon is a good deal of fun! I’ve only played through Side Order once so far, but it’s a very short, great time!

The hard part in answering this question is that if there is any substantial new content aside from new NPCs in TTYD we don’t know about it yet.

The thing is I'm still going to get TTYD...I guess it's more of a "impulsively use a voucher now on a game I think I want to go back to vs. something I'm absolutely going to buy" dilemma.

Also, we already know the extra content will be New Funky Mode.

I love this lol

Also please tell me your old treehouse with eyes Era avatar is in your game. At least, I always assumed you made that yourself too
Sadly it's not 😭

It was on an old laptop of mine which died many years ago, and I was unable to retrieve anything from the hard drive.

It's memory will live on though!

I’m sure I’ll enjoy Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, but

I bet you anything I’ll be back here when the credits roll, saying: “well, it’s no Color Splash”
