Getting more and more convinced 2022 holiday break is gonna be the biggest release of the year. Elden Ring, who? Step aside, GoW. What even is a Xenoblade? Bayowhatnow?

Such a shame it is releasing too late in the year for any outlet to consider it for their GotY awards, smh.
 
I honestly would have a hard time remembering the World Cup is starting if not for continuous stream of human rights abuses.
 
Have gotten a headache but I’m not letting that stop me from enjoying a game today damn it. Either lego Star Wars or more oblivion. I’m having fun with games again.

@Skittzo I am looking into your ice coffee suggestion. Probably not for this one but for future headaches
 
really cool Daitarn 3 interview with Tomino, no show spoilers, it’s wild, the humor was inspired by Charlie Chaplin so Tomino had to write all the gags himself because nobody else on the crew got the style so it took him 10x the effort of most shows. He also considers it one of his best
 
Finally finished Kid Icarus Uprising, riding a mecha for the final chapter was cool!. I think I'll keep playing tho, wanna clear each stage on 7.0 and get the Golden Laurels before stopping.

Unrelated, but has anyone here played Final Fantasy Tactics A2? I own that one but I never played either the original Tactics or Tactics Advance so I'm unsure if I'll be too lost playing it.

A 2 is the only one I've played, I don't think I was ever lost story-wise, not even sure if it's connected. I do know that I got stuck at a level and was never able to beat that one, but again I was a kid and it was my first tactics game and maybe first RPG that wasn't Pokémon so it was just hard for me.

Funny you mention that game because I just thought I should play my old save again only an hour ago lol

Also you can get a secondhand Pro Controller for a pretty decent price, that's what I did. Had mine for four years and it's solid as a rock.

I'm tired of doing the joycon jumble, so getting a competent pro controller for a nice price would be very nice, even if I will still only play in handheld mode the whole time. I have a stand for my Switch I've never used, so that won't be a problem.

I usually find that it works more as a preventative, not as a cure really. I have a cup every day and rarely suffer headaches much anymore.

Occasionally I'll get one from lack of electrolytes though.

As someone who's been using the internet since the late '90s, it makes me wonder if we're going to return to the old days where people use many different websites every day instead of just the same few.

I’d say the first thing would be to remove any of those where it’s just a natural and healthy disagreement between thousands of players over which game in a 20-30+ year series of a dozen or more titles is the best, and see what’s left.

I would probably say that it's Halo. The series was once the top of its class and was the main franchise for Xbox. But for over a decade now, the series reception has been mostly, let's just say middling. The reviews of the games are typically fine but no where near the heights of the original trilogy. The new releases don't feel like big game events like they used. The original developer is not working on the games while many people are dissatisfied with the current developer helming the series. But despite all that, the remaining fans still have expectations that Halo can and be should at the top of the FPS genre.

I think at this point, Sonic fans don't have any delusions of toping Mario. They mostly just want a good game at this point. The other franchises have loud and vocal fanbases online but for the most, the series remains popular with their main demographics.

Yeah that looks incredibly close.

I always felt like it was a shame Tiny Metal didn’t do well, as a 3D Advance Wars it looked great and it suited the toylike feel of the armour units. Average reviews though. By the time the sequel rolled around, which was pretty good and pushed a few of the ideas further (while still having a few of the same elements that were a little frustrating), nobody cared.

I always get mine from Raise. You pay full price for a single $50 card, and then after that it takes like $3.71 off every time you buy a $50 card directly from them. Or you can just use their second-hand market.

I often watch Hot Ones and all the guests are normally championed. Except James Corden. Goddamn, everybody hates him and the comments on the Hot Ones episode he is one definitely shows lol.

I honestly don't get it. Hot fuckin take, but I actually enjoy Corden. I genuinely don't understand why people hate his guts so much.

And I liked his episode of Hot Ones.
 
Sonic Origins is $20 on PSN. But the deluxe edition is $22 on Xbox. I donno what comes with the deluxe edition, is it worth two bucks?

Honestly having it on Xbox for quick resume might be worth two bucks.

It’s the only other remaining major US anime streaming and publishing company remaining. They’ve had some big show grabs the last couple years and got picked up by AMC networks. Yearly sub is like $40 and there’s always a sale in Dec.

Also Costco always has Eshop cards 10% off

The deluxe edition comes with a ton of stuff that should've been in the base game, honestly. The games themselves are the same either way but they paywalled a bunch of bells and whistles behind extra DLC packs, and then included those DLC packs in the "Digital Deluxe" edition. More animations and stuff in the menu backgrounds, more music in the sound test, hard mode missions in the challenge section, that sort of stuff.

It's worth it only if you want all the extra details and features outside the games, but if you just wanna have the four games available to play then going for the base is a good way to save a little.

I believe people hate him not because he is awful on screen, but because he is awful off screen. There are so many accounts of Corden being a trash person to other people and acting like a spoiled diva it's unreal.

It depends on your needs. I play my Switch mainly in tabletop mode and use a SN30 Pro a lot. I don’t like the + version, the handles don’t fit to the SNES controller, the Pro 2 is a little better but I still prefer the normal version. I also like the Power A nano which can wake up the Switch. The Pro Controller is definitely the best allrounder and with the latest versions the dpad works fine (they are on revision C5 with the Splatoon 3 edition).

SN30 Pro - perfect for travel and 2D games
  • sensitive diagonals on the dpad (fixed with tape mod)
  • No wake up functionality

nano - good for travel and kids
- No rumble

Pro Controller - 40h battery
- dpad location not perfect for 2D

It's definitely mostly this but he is also awful on-screen. Smarmy, unfunny and just generally very annoying
 
Just saw Wakanda Forever, really enjoyed it. Definitely my favorite post-Endgame Marvel movie. Yeah I know Spider-Man had all the nostalgia but this was a better film IMO.

Anyone who’s into gangster epics or historical crime drama should check out Gangs of Wasseypur (called Asian Godfather in some markets.) It’s a 5.5 hour Bollywood movie split into two parts that belongs among the same ranks as Casino, The Godfather, City of God, and Once Upon a Time in America imo.
