I can't keep up with all this. Is someone reliable saying it's a partner showcase or a mini?
Nobody has reliably said what kind of direct it'll be. All we're confident about is a 2D Mario game and an snes remake (probably Super Mario RPG) will be announced.I can't keep up with all this. Is someone reliable saying it's a partner showcase or a mini?
This is the only straight-up "it's a Mini" we've gotten, but even then it's got the caveat of "I'm extrapolating from third-party stuff":I can't keep up with all this. Is someone reliable saying it's a partner showcase or a mini?
I don't expect Three Hopes DLC... but what about a sequel?I can feel it... I won't be Genealogy... It will be the Three Hopes DLC reveal!
(I loved the game and I still cannot understand how they didn't do any dlc for it)
Thanks! 2D mario would be super hype!Nobody has reliably said what kind of direct it'll be. All we're confident about is a 2D Mario game and an snes remake (probably Super Mario RPG) will be announced.
Thanks. I don't think you can conclude what type of Direct is happening from the quality of third party announcements. It's all old shit, weeb shit, or old weeb shit regardless of whether there is a general Direct, Mini or Partner Showcase.
I don’t think so. TTYD could be a shadowdrop, with Super Mario RPG Remake coming in November/December.so does Mario RPG remake kill the chance of TTYD remastered?
No but if it's real and it does happen this year, then TTYD remaster is definitely not this year.so does Mario RPG remake kill the chance of TTYD remastered?
If true, I'd say yes. At least within the coming 12 months.so does Mario RPG remake kill the chance of TTYD remastered?
This just happened to pop up the day after RGT85 criticized Zippo for the endless rumormongering on the Spawncast this Saturday. Throughout the podcast they repeatedly said Nate might appear, so Zippo was probably listening in to piggyback on any Nate teases and instead gets insulted by RGT85, hence the blog post.
DQ3 remake was announced at their own event with no systems announced yetBut you never know with Square Enix. They co-own the game, they might have asked Nintendo to reveal it years prior, like how they did with Dragon Quest 3 remake lol.
I wish I could help you, but I can’t even help myself with this. Can someone please teach me to not be disappointed if Metroid Prime 4 doesn't show up?
A remaster of TTYD can be done by almost anyone while Mario RPG remake is almost certainly being done by Square Enix. TTYD remaster could be good 2024 schedule filler in the same way the M+L remakes were for late 3DS.I don’t think so. TTYD could be a shadowdrop, with Super Mario RPG Remake coming in November/December.
Nate seemed pretty confident about it releasing this fiscal year, maybe even calender year. If they won't show it this week, they will in September. The more news we get the more my anxiety rises while i do love me some 2d mario , no one is mentioning Metroid Prime 4 anymore, going to hurt for it not to show up again :/
This is the only straight-up "it's a Mini" we've gotten, but even then it's got the caveat of "I'm extrapolating from third-party stuff":
They could both be real, but I wouldn't expect them to launch in close proximity. If one is this year, the other is next year.so does Mario RPG remake kill the chance of TTYD remastered?
I just feel like Metroid is more of “June-level” announcement, if that makes sense. I can’t picture Prime 4 re-reveal being in September. A new trailer, sure. But that would be the second trailer, with this week hopefully being the first.Nate seemed pretty confident about it releasing this fiscal year, maybe even calender year. Don't do that. Don't give me hope.Headlines start rolling:
Direct Narrator Voice: “Microsoft’s coming to…get Jiggy with it?!?!”
Phil Spencer: Hey, Nintendo fans. Phil Spencer from Xbox.
Four years ago, we worked with our incredible partners at Nintendo to put Banjo-Kazooie into Super Smash Brothers Ultimate as download content.
Last year, we also saw the return of the original Nintendo 64 release come back to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
The iconic duo turns 25 years old next week, so we are pleased to share with you, on this Nintendo Direct, the next look into the newest entry in the Banjo franchise.”
I’ll stop there I can’t lmao BUT WHAT IF
Oh shit are they actually done with NSMB
If he doesn’t, I willDo you think that Koizumi will wear this suit on Wednesday when he will reveal the new 2D Mario?
Would that be so bad? The movie’s visuals were spectacularThe monkey's paw is going to curl and the 2D Mario title will have the visual aesthetic of the movie and be voiced by Chris Pratt.
Who knows. Even Jeff had a similar take.Thanks. I don't think you can conclude what type of Direct is happening from the quality of third party announcements. It's all old shit, weeb shit, or old weeb shit regardless of whether there is a general Direct, Mini or Partner Showcase.
11 pm Japan time9AM or 10AM announcement tomorrow
Yeah, it's definitely a June type game anc I don't know how to explain why. It just feels right, 6 years after its E3 reveal.I just feel like Metroid is more of “June-level” announcement, if that makes sense. I can’t picture Prime 4 re-reveal being in September. A new trailer, sure. But that would be the second trailer, with this week hopefully being the first.
I dunno they may look at the sales and feel a regular release is a better ideaTBH after Metroid Prime Remastered was a shadowdrop, I can’t imagine any other Gamecube remakes not getting the same treatment. What a cool thing: here’s a brand new version of a thing you like, and you can play it right now.
Nate just tweeted it’s a “possibility not certainty” for this FY, so I wouldn’t read that as pretty confidentNate seemed pretty confident about it releasing this fiscal year, maybe even calender year. If they won't show it this week, they will in September.
I don't really agree with this. I think Prime Remastered launched the way it did because Nintendo knew there was an audience for it and because they'd already devalued the game by releasing the Trilogy package.TBH after Metroid Prime Remastered was a shadowdrop, I can’t imagine any other Gamecube remakes not getting the same treatment. Oh ok, I just remembered his podcast from months ago where he was convinced after the Prime drop.Nate just tweeted it’s a “possibility not certainty” for this FY, so I wouldn’t read that as pretty confident

People asked for Prime for years and rumours had abounded for most of the Switch's life, after all, so Nintendo had a sense that people would be willing to pay for it. While we've seen GX and TTYD rumours here, they don't have the industry wide coverage that Prime leaks/demands got, or the kind of coverage potential Zelda ports have had. I think Nintendo know they'd have to do more work for stuff like Paper Mario and (especially) F ZERO to get an audience. I also expect they'll end up being full price releases like every other remaster.
With Zelda, if they come, I can't see Nintendo backing away from their approach to it as a prestige title. Even the very divisive Skyward Sword remaster got a 5 month lead in, amiibo and joycons, after all.
Apparently he heard the rumblings of an SMRPG remake since last week. Suspect, but he's also the guy who leaked MPR's shadowdrop and the promotional image for Baten Kaitos I&IIWhat did PapaGeno’s say?
Possibility is better than nothing. But I just want to see the damn thing. That’s literally it. Show me a trailer. Something! Anything! Please!Nate just tweeted it’s a “possibility not certainty” for this FY, so I wouldn’t read that as pretty confident
Essentially he's received multiple DMs from someone (that he doesn't know) throughout the last few weeks that said that there is a Mario RPG remake and that it would most likely be revealed at a direct near the end of June, which all lines up with what the current rumblings are. What did PapaGeno’s say?
