I do daily coffee but I’m very casual. I just usually do instant Vietnamese packets

I love coffee, I NEED coffee. I can't start my day without it.

My favorites of course are pumpkin spice lattes and gingerbread lattes!

I barely function without a cup of coffee in the morning. I once cut caffeine cold turkey. The weeklong headache is not something I would want to endure again since I clearly started drinking coffee again. The last three panels are me:

Washed Ethiopian V60 or aeropress was the thing that used to make me happy, in a 'can't wait till the morning' kind of way. Still like it, but not as much. Also, coffee is all about taste to me, never used it to wake up and get the energy boost (it never worked for some reason)

Yep. Used to drink coffee quite often, like the taste, got diagnosed with mild IBS later in life and it became the Forbidden Drink. I make very weak ones on occasion because I crave it so bad :(
Yeah, I feel all of that.

Love it. Quite possibly addicted to it, starts my morning off right.

I'm not fussy though, tend to just go with instant unless I'm feeling fancy.

Can't on the account of my GERD. That said, never cared for the taste, so it helps make that decision easier, haha.

Love coffee, especially a good italian espresso or ristretto, but I'm too lazy and tired in the morning to do that kind of great coffee, James Hoffman shit, so usually just put a capsule in my Nespresso machine (the "Master Origins Ethiopia" is their best imo) and enjoy a cup to start the day.

I like coffee fine, but I only drink it on rare occasion and for the taste, I’m not someone who needs an early caffeine boost each day. I feel similarly about tea, which I like more.

All about that light roast Ethiopian. Normally use a nice drip machine but will sometimes Chemex on the weekends.

I would pay an ungodly amount of money for a Mudslide from Woods Coffee right now. Why is the nearest location 3000 miles away god dammit.

When I was at University I drank an absolutely nutty amount of coffee — probably like 10-12 “cups” a day, which I had in the form of 4-5 XL sized coffees through the day. Drank it black. I could drink coffee at like 9PM and it wouldn’t interrupt my sleep!

Now I’m 33 and if I drink more than 2 cups I feel like a sweaty, panicked mess and get a real tight headache. Drinking coffee past the early morning makes me feel that way near instantly. I also can’t drink it black anymore because HEARTBURN! So I use a pinch of sugar and a little oat milk, now.

Coffee is absolutely amazing. I started off very slowly, getting into super sweet mochas in high school, then gradually moving to lattes, and now I'm all in on coffee with just a little cream. I can still do maybe a touch of sugar or a latte, it's all good. I'm kind of basic, though, I usually just do K-Cups with a medium or dark roast and a little cream in the mornings.

I've never really tried it and I'm happy to keep it that way. No reason to develop any kind of dependency on caffeine.
The only time I've ever had a little was shortly after a root canal filling replacement where I was still very numb but someone I know saw me whilst they were at a cafe and got me to have a drink with them. I could barely drink it but it tasted weird and I knew I wouldn't like it anyway.

Yep, never used to though, my GF got me into it back in 2020 and I’ve drank it ever since. Went from buying standard instant coffee to now owning a cafetière and buying special blends haha

Well for me, soda was my gateway into caffeine. I drank a ton of Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew, etc. in high school and developed a caffeine dependency that way without even really realizing it, but it was enough to get headaches if I skipped a day or so. I cut all that out years ago though to stop so many empty calories and switched to (mostly) black coffee instead, and now I love it.

Coffee good. Which coffee do you like?

Do you not like coffee? Let me know!
Hate it. I try to drink mostly water, tea and milk. Cheaper and healthier than some of the 'garbage-in-a-can' shit you'll find at grocery stores.

I just realized I didn’t answer this question.

My go-to is Cliff Hanger Espresso from Kicking Horse Coffee. I used to brew in an Espro French Press which is hella expensive though I waited for a sale (~$90 USD). The double micro-filter prevents coffee grinds from getting through so worth it to me.

For the past six months or so, I’ve been exclusively using a Takeya Cold Brew Coffee Maker. It’s currently ~$38 USD, but again, I waited for a sale (~$20 USD). This makes the coffee beans I buy last so much longer than when I used the French Press.

I usually take my coffee with whole milk and sugar (hot) or simple syrup (cold). I plan on going on keto for a bit so I bought some low carb alternatives. We’ll see how that shakes out. Anyway, after typing this all out, I’m now realizing how much of a coffee snob I am.

I’m open to recommendations. A friend wants to special order her favorite brand but normally can’t justify the shipping cost so I offered to go halfsies on the next order.

I would say I like coffee but I am not an enthusiast or anything. I generally have one cup of black coffee first thing in the morning. I might stop by Tim Horton's for a cup of coffee or ice coffee while I am out and about. Basically do not drink it any later than early afternoon.

I have a cup every morning. I take mine straight black.

Every day, any variety I can get my hands on. How I have it depends on my mood. Sometimes all I need is some creamer, other days I want something sweet with a bunch of other extras.

I like coffee but I'm not super picky about it. I like lattes.

I drink black coffee daily.
2 shots of espresso + hot tap water so I can drink it immediately
Will switch to decaf in the evening so I can keep drinking.

That is right, I love coffee so much I drink decaf black coffee.

I have got both a Nespresso machine and a coffee grinder at home, so I can safely say I like coffee.

I try to keep it to one cup a day, though. Sometimes I fail.

EDIT: This topic is rather appropriate for a subforum titled The Roost. Long live pigeon milk lattes.

Drinking it right now.

I think I have a pretty middle of the road view on coffee. I like "good coffee" but at the end of the day, coffee is coffee to me. I drink instant most days and French press when I feel like it. I buy unbranded, paper bag packed coffee from the discount supermarket.

I AM picky about TEA. Bewley's Black Irish Breakfast Tea is the best tea. It's a blend, it's fermented, it's Assam, it's the best.

I can't do caffeine, but I love coffee. I did just eat some Trader Joe's cold crew boba coconut milk ice cream, though. It turns out it's legitimately quite caffeinated. Im having some regrets.

Used to not really care for it my whole life, only occasionally having a cup if I have to wake up super early for something. Recently moved into my own place though and got myself a coffee maker, and now I have a cup every morning. I never drink more than that though, even if it's tempting sometimes. My grandfather on the other hand will drink coffee at night and still somehow fall asleep a couple hours later without any issues, which still kinda baffles me.

Currently drinking around 5 to 6 cups every day (sometimes more) , mainly due to workload and being able to be mentally sharp due to deal with a very, let's say: "difficult" client (Want to be polite here)

Do you think it is too much? I like it black, super charged, no cream, no sugar.

I’m very fond of Moyee coffee. It’s roasted in the countries of origin, which means the profits in roasting stay there. The packaging is done there too. Its not that much more expensive and I just drink a little less, but I believe in their mission.

I don't like it and I can only tolerate it with some creamer. But I don't wanna drink energy drinks so I just chug it whenever I need the caffeine.

It has to be 80% milk (preferably more) and 20% coffee to be tasty for me. There are some beans that are generally sweeter than average, I like those too.

As we wrap up 2023 on Family Boards, I have a request for everyone:

Post your favorite coffee of the year, why you liked it, and how you like having it.

I'm a blando bloke. Any plain 'ol black coffee gets me going and makes me happy, unless it's a watery mess. My mom is in the habit of not using enough grounds, so I like to joke that she doesn't make coffee, she makes coffee inspired water.

What a nice thread to see bumped while the smell of coffee fills the house!

My COTY has to go to a Tanzanian Peaberry blend I had from what I reckon is the best café in my area. It had this mystifying taste with strong floral black tea-ish notes, sweetened with a touch of honey, and the oat milk in it was lightly infused with lavender. It was the theoretical opposite of a Starbucks Monstrosity; a delicate, thoughtful blend of flavours with a very light touch to let the coffee stand out. Yum!
